We offer group classes, private one-on-one instruction, and K9 Nose Work classes. We are happy to serve Tallahassee, Florida, and surrounding areas.
Services
At A Dog Gone Good School of Dog Training, we use humane, scientifically based methods. No choke chains, prong collars or electric shocking tools. Training should be an enjoyable activity for you and your dog, not a power struggle. Reward the behavior you like, and ignore or redirect the behavior you want to change.
Training is a necessity, like food, water, exercise, and trips to the vet. Teaching your puppy or dog how to live peacefully with his people and others is a quality-of-life issue for your dog and your family. If you can't get along well with your dog, neither of you will be very comfortable living together.

Martha is a dog miracle worker. She spent so much time with me & my two dogs in my home. Her knowledge & skills of dog behavior are one of a kind. In one session I've learned so much & can already see a difference. She trains the doggie owner & pups & is so passionate about her work. I highly recommend her service for anyone looking for help in making a better quality of life for pets & their owners. Thank you Martha!

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability Yelled and cussed at my mother on the phone. Claimed that we were awful dog owners and was very unwilling to help.

I just recently got a Morkie puppy (Gracie) that has been out of control and I realized I needed help. I found A Dog Gone Good dog training business and scheduled a private session. Martha Winters came to my house and worked with us for 2 hours. I was utterly amazed what Martha did. She was hands-on, professional, instructive and by the end of the session, Gracie was a different dog.

She was so prepared that she provided handouts for each of the problems I told her I needed help with. What a great experience and I would recommend "A Dog Gone Good" to anyone who needs a little (or a lot) of help with their pooch!

This is the first dog I've ever had. I called to find out what the general pricing and scenario of dog training was and she spent the whole time on the phone fussing at me with a neurotic tone like she was a disgruntled wife. Ultimately to tell me that she charges 85 dollars an hour to teach me how to train my dog. Very irritating to be talked to and treated like that when you're trying to buy a service.

Ms. Winters came prepared and I was in total shock at what she taught my dog (but mostly, ME!) in such a short amount of time! It was incredible and I did not think it was possible! I chose her due to her humane approach, teaching me to implement the techniques and strategies and giving me feedback that was helpful and kind! I would HIGHLY recommend her to work with your dogs. It was a PHENOMENAL experience!

Martha was fantastic - very humane, common sense training. She obviously adores the pups and is equally patient ent with the humans. She helped me with some training issues with my puppy and we also did a nosework course. I'm a veterinarian and found her advice for basic training issues to be really effective and she stresses POSITIVE training so the dogs have a lot of fun.

The owner was rude, did not offer any real help! I will never use her in the future; apparently, she has all the money she needs!

Martha is really a lovely lady! After emailing her to inquire, it was obvious that she read my concerns and really thought about the training before the session. From the moment she walked into my house, I could tell that she knew what she was doing and had both my dog and I's best interests in mind. Martha is all about positive training and reinforcement, which made both my dog and I comfortable.

My dog (a big German Shepherd) was laying in her lap on the couch by the end of the session - so he obviously loved the training and her! Her training is affordable - even for a graduate student, and it was worth every penny. In the past I had some bad experiences with other dog training institutions in Tallahassee where I was asked to use methods of dog training which made me and my dog uncomfortable, resulting in lost confidence in my dog and I's bond. Martha was able to listen to me, and offer me ways to retrain behaviors in a POSITIVE fashion, instead of just trying to use brute force correction.

I can now say that I have the tools (and Martha provides you with tons of resources before, during, and after your session) to continue to move forward with my dog's training. In just two short hours, Martha was able to build both my and my dog's confidence back up and get us on track for success. I would recommend her for anyone who is looking for a trainer who will actually listen to you and provide you with methods that will work.

She is so kind, and truly loves dogs. She gives great advice, and helped us with our dogs potty issues. Positive thinking and positive training! You cannot get any better a trainer than her!

We have 3 dogs, and one of them is disabled. The disabled dog turned extremely aggressive on our other dogs and I was worried I would have to put her down because I believed there wasn't anything we could do to change her behavior. I figured I would have a trainer come check out our house as our last resort. Martha came in and knocked every bad behavior out of our home IN ONE SESSION.

Not to mention she had never worked with a disabled dog before! She was affordable (for even me being a college student) and she nipped the problem right in the bud. She gave us many ideas and suggestions on how to redirect that aggression into positive behavior and I'm happy to say we have been fight free for 6 months now! People have to remember that it's not the dogs fault for the way it acts, it's the human's fault for not properly teaching the dog what is acceptable and what is not. THANK YOU MARTHA! You saved my little one's life, and you saved me from more trips to the ER trying to break the dogs up! You are our savior!
