My pup is MUCH improved thanks to Shane's dedication, talent, and commitment. He went above and beyond to train my pug for several weeks of boot camp, taking her longer than expected (free of charge) because I had to travel out of town. His work ethic and commitment to excellence is rare and admirable, and I highly recommend his boot camp. He's stayed in touch since my pup graduated, and has continued to offer sound and effective advice on dealing with what was a difficult situation.

Shane is a miracle worker. He has brought peace back to our house after we added a rescue doberman. We can walk our doberman off leash, and he is also a pleasure on a leash. He is much calmer now and obedient. During one training session at a local park, several people commented at how well behaved and obedient our dogs were and they all wanted Shane's contact info. Shane transformed our dog, and I would highly recommend him to any dog owner. Our dog was a new dog after just 1 session and he was perfected after about 4 more. Thanks, Shane!

I talked to Shane on the phone. No telling me what organization he worked for, and never let me get a word in. Talked to me as if I had no previous dog experience and told me the training methods I've already used (which are tried and true) are stupid for the breed of dog I have (Standard Poodle.) stay far FAR away from this place.

Shane is amazing. I have used Shane multiple times with our Dobermans and they are so well behaved we have used them as therapy dogs. We have been able to walk off leash no problem. Shane is amazing and works relentlessly till the dog completes the training and always follows up. I recommend him to any dog owner.

Shane took in our Jack Russell puppy for a few weeks for boarding/training. Our boy was very stubborn and did not have any manners at all! When we got him back, he was like a different dog! Shane did a great job setting up the foundation for the future with a well-behaved dog.

My dog was having aggression issues with food and toys. After a couple weeks of training with Shane, his aggression is gone and he is back to being his happy fun self. I don't have to worry anymore and we can both enjoy the rest of his life aggression free. I have had other friend's use Shane as well for their dogs and I will continue to recommend Shane to anyone who needs training.

When our 5 yr. old lab mix came to live with us, she was anxious, aggressive to other dogs, barked at anything that moved and was difficult on a leash. Shane came to our house, at our convenience, to train Maddie. She is now a calm dog who is a delight to take on a walk and barks very little. Our neighbors and family cannot believe the wonderful change in Maddie. We owe it all to Shane.

I absolutely DO NOT recommend Shane as a trainer for dog lovers. His methods are not safe, and my pup has been scarred from this training. To start off, he screams and yells at the pup until the pup is scared of him. You have to buy this shock and vibrate collar called Dogtra. He doesn't like the vibrate, and he recommends the shock. He forces the dog to sit perfectly straight by pressing roughly on their backside until they do.

If your pup is a leaner like mine, he recommends side kneeing your pup until the pup is not touching or close to your side. My pup became so anxious and frightened to even pee in her own yard unless me or my sister or mom was standing in the yard next to her. When he is training the pup to walk straight, he yanks the pup up off the ground by the leash allowing the choker collar to press into their neck.

He even refused my pup water in the hot summer heat until I got an attitude and told him "No! She is getting sick." He believes that dogs are not family; theyre just a "dog" an animal we can run for our needs. That night after being yanked in the summer heat by her neck until I ended the lesson, my pup started coughing and reverse sneezing for 5 minutes straight trying to catch her breath.

I felt like I let her down, and That I put her in danger of this stranger who was paid to help her. I made my dad call Shane that same night to tell him that we didnt want to continue the lessons because I could not stop crying over how scared and frightened my pup had become. My pup still gets nervous when you rest your hand on her hip. Throughout the lessons, he spends his time talking about his personal life, his girlfriend, and how people cook for him. Yeah, I lost out on $1,000.00, but I still have my pup.

She's safe and makes me the happiest to be alive everyday. And guess what? His methods did not work. The thing that worked was the Dogtra collar he makes you buy. So, save your money. Buy the collar, and protect your pup. Have you noticed that his site will not allow constructive feedback? I've decided to not disclose my name or the name of my pup for personal reasons since Shane has been to my house. I couldn't hold in my concerns any longer because he has pamphlets at my local vet.

We found a card for Shane in our vets office and picking up that card was the best decision I've ever made. We had issues with fear aggression, disobedience, and just plain craziness. After a few weeks of Shane working with our dogs, they're completely different. No more baby gates all over the house and no excessive barking. Our dogs know that we are the leaders of the pack. We owe Shane so much for the work he's done to make our dogs brand new!

I had the weirdest phone call from this place. I inquired about dog training online and was waiting for a phone call. Someone named Shane called me after 9 pm on a week day (which was strange to begin with) and he almost sounded like he was shouting at me on the phone. He was rambling on and on about dog training techniques for like a good ten minutes without me even responding to him.

He then started comparing dog training techniques that don't work to Obama and how Obama didn't work for our country, either do the training techniques. He then started talking about transgender bathrooms and how he would never have them at his establishment. He almost sounded drunk to me. It was the strangest phone call I have ever received from a place of business. I blocked his number and will NOT be taking my dog there obviously.

Shane boarded and trained my 5 month old Doberman with promises of a well behaved, obedient family dog and boy did he deliver! Duke our Doberman was, like most dobermans, extremely dominant and never stopped testing boundaries with my wife and children. We found Shane through a friends recommendation and despite the negative reviews from people who only CALLED ONE TIME we set up a date and the rest was history.

After only 3 weeks Shane returned to us with a dog who was so well behaved that he refused to greet us until Shane told him it was ok. Shane has a dominant personality required to properly train a dog and we couldn't be any happier with how Amazing of a dog Duke has become. We have already discussed getting Duke a friend in the near future and will 100% be sending them to train. If you want guaranteed results then Shane is your guy!

The reviews by Kristina and Brea are valid. I just got off the phone with Shane and he has to be the most arrogant, dull-witted, and irrational person I have ever spoken to. Importantly, I am NOT one of those dog owners who thinks that the positive reenforcement method (i.e. clicker and food treats for good behavior and no consequence for bad behavior) is the only method that works.

I think that positive reenforcement may work for some dogs, but not ALL dogs. Corporal punishment (including shock collars) may be necessary in certain circumstances. With that said, l don't disagree with Shane's approach to canine behavioral modification; however, I think that HE needs to be trained in how to socialize with humans. I never did meet with him because after my first phone conversation with him I could tell that he was socially inept, not a good listener, and literally ALL TALK.

As Brea stated, he is extremely excitable over the phone (and most likely in person) and continuously stated throughout our conversation how the positive reenforcement method was ineffective (only he said this in a much cruder and unintelligent manner). I don't necessarily agree with this method either, but there is a much more productive and effective way in which to communicate one's disagreement with something.

He also called me a litter mate a few times which didn't really bother me because I know it isn't true, but he has this condescending manner in which he speaks to you that is very annoying. I honestly can't imagine what rational and intelligent dog owner would ever take their dog to him. You've been warned! BEWARE of SHANE! I spoke with Jess at Premier Dog Training in Columbia, MD.

It was so refreshing to speak with her after talking to Shane earlier. She restored my faith that I could find a dog trainer who trained dogs using more than just the positive reenforcement method and also seems like they would be a joy to work with. I will be bringing Zuri to them in April for a 2 week "boot camp!"I will leave a review on their Yelp page after Zuri's training in April.

By the way, Zuri is a lovely 4 year old lab mix from BARCS that I adopted at 9 months. She is generally well-behaved and listens in controlled and semi-distractive situations. When I first got Zuri from BARCS, she was very social with other dogs and a joy to watch at the dog park. However, she became fearful? annoyed? by certain dogs about a 1.5 years ago which manifested into dog on dog aggression. I'm not sure what triggered this change, but I'd like help to get her HOPEFULLY back to her loveable and playful self around other dogs.

I spoke with him on the phone for about 20 minutes. During this time he constantly told me that my dog didn't respect me, there is no such thing as separation anxiety, he doesn't train with hot dogs in a little baggy, and that I still needed him to assist me with off leash training even though I consistently told him my dog comes back on recall and the major issues were chewing and stealing stuff off the table and destroying it.his reasoning that I needed his help still was because my dog obviously doesn't respect me and he only comes back on recall because he wants to.

After reading the reviews here I'm extremely happy that I chose not to utilize his services. Just from speaking with him, I found him very aggressive to me so I can only imagine how he would be with my dog.

If only zero stars were an option. In a nutshell, this guy is insane. I called to inquire about help with training my very strong-willed Great Dane mix. He only let me talk for less than two minutes to explain my experiences with training my dog. Then he proceeded talking for 20 minutes straight as if he were hyped up on 50 pots of coffee. All other dog trainers are crooks - only he knows how to train dogs - my dog doesn't respect me. he repeatedly called me a "litter mate" throughout this tirade.

I was put off by this & kept trying to get a word in to find out how this training works - where does training take place, what are his methods, how many sessions, how much? Then he finally told me they use shock collars for training dogs! If this crazy man, amped up on goodness knows what, thinks I am going to PAY him $700 to shock my dog into submission - he's even crazier than he sounds! Don't waste your time.

Shane boarded and trained my German Shepherd pup at 4months of age. She returned confident, obedient, and a great dog all around at six months of age. She is hands down! the most obedient dog at the park. I would highly recommend Shane to anyone. There are many dog trainers who board and train for just two weeks using treats, etc. This works with getting your dog complete the command, but this does not mean he/she is obedient.

His methods make you the pack leader and not your dogs best buddy. In order to be your dogs best buddy, you have to lead. The definition of cruelty differs from dog owner to dog owner. You did not define "aggressive treatment". Yanking on a choke collar is proper use of a choke collar. Does a dog with separation anxiety need obedience training? Or a dog psychologist?

Horrible. People need to know about this business. Maybe this guy's tactics works with really unruly or aggressive dogs, but it's training that in my opinion is based on cruelty and fear. I was shocked and displeased with the lack of compassion for my dog. He immediatly put my dog on a choker chain and yanked her. My dog has separation anxiety and not aggression so I was completely set back with this treatment. It seemed like his tactic was to scare her into not fearing. Absolutely crazy. Please be mindful if you choose to use him.
