Doug very clearly loves animals and loves his job. His passion and excitement is infectious. He gave us a much greater understanding of dog psychology as well as plenty of tips and tricks to help our dog (Watson) interact with the human world. After a short time Watson is much more calm and attentive than he used to be.

Camilla has been the most patient and effective dog trainer to address my dog Tully's leash reactivity. I worked with 2-3 other dog trainers prior to getting to Camilla and am sorry we did not start with her. I highly recommend her to anyone with a dog issue. The training has been as much for the humans as well as for the dog so I appreciate her attention to detail as well as her willingness to go over and above expectations.

Camilla speaks Dog! Humans (as primates) and dogs (as canids) do not intuitively know how to communicate. Camilla has been brilliant at helping me to understand my dog, and how to turn that understanding into effective training techniques. My dog loves her, and I love how she is helping me to help him be a better doggy citizen of the world. Added bonus: she has 3 assistants, all dogs, no extra charge.

If you're looking for a trainer that you and your dog look forward to working with choose Camilla. She uses positive reinforcement so your dog wants to behave, not forced to behave. This strengthens the owner/pet bond and develops a well rounded confident canine companion. I've taken obedience classes and nosework with Camilla. Fun and educational for human and dog alike!

I have two young female dogs that are in a power struggle. I called Ain't Misbehaving for some guidance. They were straight forward about our situation and gave me the information that I needed to help me figure out how to help my dogs. I am extremely grateful for our 30 minute phone call that was full of information and compassion. I'm so thankful that we have this valuable resource in Bend (the dog Mecca of the world)! I highly recommend this company!

Camilla has been an amazing asset for our two dogs! We first attended her puppy kindergarten class and had wonderful results with our giant Bernese Mountain puppy. We found her training so helpful that we reached out for more advanced training in our home. Camilla was able to identify the root cause (competition for attention between dogs) of some unwanted behaviors in our home, and her training advice resolved the problems almost immediately!

Our puppy now has better boundaries, and our older golden is able to get more love and attention. I highly recommend Camilla for classes, individual home visits, any dog training you may need!

Camilla helped us so much with our puppy Mitch. We did an intermediate puppy class and private lessons with her. Camilla created and supported us with a personalized plan-Mitch was guarding and walking poorly on leash and her plans were so effective. She knows exactly what works! So worth the time and investment!

Camilla is truly a dog whisperer! There were so many fantastic takeaways from her puppy class that have made my dog much more responsive (and we can continue the learning at home). She focuses on consistency and impulse control, and my pup has learned better leash walking skills, the beginnings of recall, sit and down, and leave it/take it. Hoping for an intermediate class so we can keep learning! Thanks Camilla!

I reached out to Camilla for dog training for my two dogs. I got little to no response back from her. I was eager to start training ASAP but unfortunately Camilla wasn't showing any interest in training my two dogs. I wouldn't waste my time reaching out to her if you are looking for a professional.

Camilla is by far the most knowledgeable dog trainer I have ever worked with. She is great not only with basic dog training but she also excels when you have a dog with any kind of issue. Camilla is able to observe the dog and quickly translate into words what needs to be done to help correct the dogs behavior. She is all about positive reinforcement which I really appreciate

Over the years Camilla has helped me with two dogs. It is fabulous to have a session with her. She views the situation in question, asks scads of questions and then suddenly thinks like a dog! Seeing it through dog eyes I was then instructed on how to help my dog do what was needed to be done to be a good dog. After all, that's what they want, to be praised and loved for good behavior.

I'm so happy that we found Camilla the owner of Ain't Misbehaving. After adopting our pittie mix puppy from OHS, we quickly realized that we couldn't figure out this training stuff on our own. Who knew that blowing leaves, plastic flamingoes, and the neighbor's 2lb chihuahua were so scary? After a lot of looking around for a good trainer, we signed up for puppy kindergarten with Camilla and in that first class our shy little pup started coming out of her shell. Camilla handled the 6 dogs (and owners) in our class with such an amazing level of awareness, giving each individual what they needed to work on the most.

She brings positivity, humor, and experience to her classes. Now we have a balanced, happy, calm puppy, that walks up to that plastic flamingo and hits it on the head with her paw- along with the skills we need to continue her training. I highly recommend Camilla, she works some amazing dog magic.

I don't remember how we were referred to Camilla, but we're so glad we did. My girlfriend and I adopted a wonderful (but highly subdued) greyhound a year and a half ago and quickly realized that the three books we had read in preparation did not fully prepare us for all eventualities. Since then we have worked with Camilla on 3-4 occasions and have be very happy with the results - each of the "groups" of behavior problems that we sought to resolve all got taken care of. I have found Camilla to be a very intuitive, knowledgeable and efficient teacher in the realm of dog (read: owner) training.

The best day after getting my dog, Skye. Camilla's manner is so comfortable and easy to listen to. She makes the experience worthwhile yet enjoyable at the same time. My trust in her is ongoing. Thank you, Camilla for making the trip to Tualatin.

My boyfriend and I had 2 private dog training sessions w/ Camilla as well as attending one of her 5 week classes w/ our new dog. Camilla is great! Super knowledgeable, nice, not intimidating, and funny. We've made a good progress w/ our new dog thanks to her advice and counsel. I would definitely recommend attending one of Camilla's classes w/ your dog and I couldn't recommend private sessions highly enough. Having a dedicated professional work w/ you and your dog one-on-one is really productive and rewarding.

Eight years and three dogs later, I still have the highest of praise for Camilla and Ain't Misbehaving. She actually helped us select our latest dog, Riley, from Multnomah County Animal Services. No question, she picked just the right guy for us, which I'm sure is a combination of her ability to recognize a great pooch when she sees one, and her knowledge of us over the years we have lived in Portland and utilized her services. Sure, Riley came pre-programmed with some old habits.

He was 5 years old when we got him, after all. But we have been working on each of them (door and fence guarding) with noticeable improvement. I guess we'll know how much progress we've made when BBQ season is upon us and we fill the back yard with hoards of friends and neighbors. No matter what dog issues you're dealing with, time spent with Camilla is some of the most valuable time you'll ever spend with your dog.

She teaches you to watch for cues and find the exact moment when to praise and treat. She helps you better understand what motivates your dog to "bad" behavior and how to redirect that behavior. She remains the best trainer I've ever worked with. Portland is beyond lucky to have her!

I took my dog through one of her group classes. What a great experience for my dog and family. She's very experienced and uses a positive approach that's easy to take from class to home. We now have the tools to assure our dog is a well trained welcomed member in our home and in the community.

I just finished a private session with Camilla and it was a great experience. I recently adopted a Great Dane rescue and needed some guidance how to create some doggy harmony between him and my two boxers. Camilla was knowledgable, kind, easy to follow and gave me a set of very helpful and specific insights and techniques that we could see working right away. I am excited to put them into practice and to do a group lesson. I wish I had done this a long time ago when I got my first puppy.

We were distraught about what to do with our barking babies. Thank goodness we found Camilla Wellhaven, dog trainer extraordinaire and owner of Aint' Misbehaving, who is a gentle genius at aiding the bewildered dog owners (us) into learning how to respond and, with positivity, control their willful dogs. Camilla has years of training experience and lots of good people skills, too, which makes all the difference! She's patient and considerate, organized and effective, and our babies bark 50% less than they did before we started working wtih Camilla, which makes the difference between headache and migraine!;) I can't recommend Camilla at Ain't Misbehaving enough!
