We loved training with Karry! We had a hard case with our pup and I can't properly express how much of a comfort she was with her knowledge. Karry really focused on training my husband and I on dog language so we could understand her better. This not only helped with training, but also helped all of our relationship in general. We really needed one on one training with our dog and we believe we made the right choice with choosing Karry. 10/10 recommend

Karry is so knowledgeable and a joy to work with. Even my pupp loved her. We'll be taking our rescue to her when his health gets under control.

Karry is an incredibly knowledgeable and gifted trainer. Duke, my Frenchie Boston mix, was highly reactive to other dogs and even nipping at my kids. I was at the end of my rope when I brought him to Karry. She gave me so much great information, and even more importantly, so much hands-on training. She showed me how to interact with Duke to help him behave.

In 8 weeks, Duke has transformed. His reactivity to other dogs has decreased significantly and he is more polite in his interactions with people. Today, he passed his final test with flying colors. I would highly recommend Karry for any behavioral issues or training in general.

My dog, Trixie (8 months old), graduated from basic obedience class today. Karry was really wonderful, down to earth and easy to work with. She also was available to answer any and all questions I had both training related and in general. I'd recommend her to anyone!

Shitty service. Left my dog there for 2 days and the care takers let another dog attack mine. His leg is crushedwith multiple puncteand isn't able to walk. Both parties the owner of the other dog and the care taker refuse to help with in medical assistance.

Karry Brooks is hands down the best dog trainer on the island. She doesn't just show you basic commands and send you on your way. She helps you understand your dog and the way they process everything. She teaches you (as a human) patience, understanding, and the proper correction techniques. As a dog owner of a very reactive dog, I've learned to understand his needs and boundaries. Karry has, not only, transformed me as a dog owner, but has helped Dexter grow into a secure and confident dog.

If you feel like you've lost any hope in training your dog, please see Karry before anything else. She can transform the bond between you and your pup as long as you're willing to put in the work!

I would like to say that I haven't even started training my dog with her yet. We simply did an evaluation. I just can not say enough at how happy I was to have my dog meet Karry. She helped me with a lot of training tips. And she quoted fairly about the prices of her service. She was super patient with all of my questions. And my dog who has very little training (since I just got him.)

I moved to Oak Harbor, I am very skeptical about where I bring my fur baby. I brought my dog to this woman and had the best experience. She treated me like family. When I pick my dog up she leaves so much happier.

We were newly stationed here and I didn't know anyone to ask for recommendations for boarding my dog. That being said, I had to go strictly by gut feeling. After meeting Kerry and seeing how amazing she is at her job, I knew my Lab was in great hands. She is very accommodating and knowledgable. Her rates are fair and she has tons of room for the dogs to play. I love the idea of no kennels. Thank you!

I brought my puppy here because I had to go to a wedding across the country. When she was returned to me, that same day she became VERY SICK. She had contracted some parasite that had to be from this place. It was a lot of money in vet bills and terrifying for me as I thought she might die. Needless to say, I DID not have a good experience with this place.

It took me a while to decide if I was going to write this or not. I decided to write my experience because I would feel terrible if someone else's pet was injured. I took my dog here to be watched for a little under a week. My dog was attack and had to get 10 stitches down her face. The owner told me that she was in the process of feeding the dogs when it happened and that the other dog had some aggressive tendencies.

Why were they even near each other let alone near each other during feeding time. My dog is 6 years old and has never been in a fight. She was mauled by another dog due to negligence. She is now having separation anxiety issues which she has never had and a huge scar down her face. The owner was very apologetic and paid for the vet bill. but I would recommend using a more knowledgeable boarding facility.

I was very disappointed with the condition my lizards and frog came back, and then I got a nasty phone call from the owner after warning others on a FB post. The water was empty and the cages were disgusting. The tree frog was under extreme heat without water for who knows how long. $540 bill for two weeks. These animals require almost no attention, but the attention they got was poor. It was really lame.

I am a disabled veteran and I went into the hospital and Karri a near perfect stranger to me took my dog in and cared for her for 5 weeks. This lady comes from her heart! My dog was treated as if she was a family member. She was not stuck in a kennel, or left outside in the cold in a kennel but was allowed to roam and participate in the family activities with the other dogs.

I love that personal in home touch! My dog is a rescued dog and she has issues. Karri worked with her and it made a big difference! Karri still continues to help me with my dog in training. When I went to get my dog, my dog appeared to be having a hard time to choose between Karri and myself. My dog has two mom's now! When I came to get my dog, she was Happy, Clean, Healthy, and had some manners! God Bless Karri in what she did for my dog and for me!

Avoid this pet sitter! Despite claims on her website and from her personally that she does not accept aggressive dogs, she keeps at least two unpredictable and aggressive dogs in her long-term boarding care and these dogs attacked and seriously injured my dog while in her care! She is untrustworthy and unprofessional. She has not called to check on my dog's welfare nor responded to my messages with my report of the extent of his injuries.

I'm very unhappy with and angry about my experience with this pet care provider. I left my Sheltie overnight for one night, based on a recommendation from an acquaintance. Within 5 minutes of being in the home, he was attacked by another dog stationed on a pet bed right near the entrance way. There was no way for him to enter the home without passing by this dog, who lunged off the pet bed completely unprovoked and unexpectedly and who was followed into the attack by her "sibling" dog from the same home.

After the attack, the owner of this business, Karry, stated to me, "Oh, I should have warned you about that dog, she's 'broken' and is on anti-anxiety medication but she still sometimes goes off unpredictably on other dogs." After the attack, when the two sibling dogs had returned to their pet beds, the second dog continued to growl aggressively. The website for this provider states that she only accepts non-aggressive dogs. Had I known that she actually does accept aggressive and maladjusted dogs, I would NEVER have taken my Sheltie to her home for care.

I put my dog in her care based on the assurance that she only accepts non-aggressive dogs, so I immediately felt lied to after she explained about the dog who attacked my dog. Unfortunately, because I was visiting from out of town and had an obligation to which I could not bring my dog, I had no choice but to still leave my dog with her overnight. Karry assured me she would monitor interactions between my dog and other dogs, however she later admitted that she monitored them only periodically during outside playtime.

When I picked my dog up the next day, Karry showed me the puncture bite wound she had found on my dog's left side from the incident when I dropped him off. However, when I looked him over later I found an additional larger wound on his OTHER side. When I called to tell her about finding the second wound, her "apology" was defensive and unprofessional and she could not provide me with an explanation as to how that wound occurred.

I took my dog to the vet who ended up identifying FOUR separate large wound areas and a total of at least EIGHT puncture wounds. I have no idea how many times he actually ended up being attacked while in this pet sitter's care. In addition to the above, she didn't tell me until I arrived for the drop-off that she uses shock mats in her home to keep the dogs out of certain rooms.

I would not have brought my dog to her with that knowledge, either. Also, when I called before my visit and asked screening questions, she assured me she is familiar with Sheltie personalities. However, when I arrived and she took his leash, she immediately tried to PULL him into her home, which caused him to do the typical Sheltie move of pulling back against her (they are masters at pulling back and wiggling straight out of their collars), and she didn't stop until I took the leash back from her and coaxed him into the house myself.

This made me highly doubtful about her understanding of dealing with Shelties or other sensitive breeds. I would never recommend this pet care provider to anyone. I now have an injured and traumatized dog and a vet bill on my hands and the guilt of having exposed him to this. She has not called to check on my dog's welfare nor responded to the messages I sent her with photographs and a report of the extent of his injuries.

Karry took wonderful care of our Beagle Buster. Buster made lots of dog friends while there, and loved the huge area for running around. He was clean and healthy and happy after the week stay.

Both me and my dog love ACPC for many reasons. First being that my dog is able to be social and run free, if I wanted to leave him in a kennel all day he could be left at home. We are greeted when we arrive, and are able to discuss how everything went when we leave, as well as get tips on his behavior. By the time I pick him up he is thoroughly exhausted and happy, tongue lolling out to the side with a smile on his face. Second, the owner is also our trainer, so I know when my dog is there he is not getting away with any bad behavior and is expected to behave as he would in my house.

The prices are very reasonable and the times are convenient as well. I also love that the dogs are able to curl up inside by the woodstove and relax rather than being exposed to the elements all day every day. The day care has helped my dog become socialized and work through his fear aggression, and I know that he is in professional hands when greeting new dogs.

My dog also follows a special diet, and it is comforting to know those needs are being met while staying with ACPC. With other kennels my dog has come back with digestive issues from being exposed to the wrong foods, etc. The owner takes care to acknowledge special needs of you and your pet. ACPC's training is phenomenal as well. Not only does Karry come to us, but she works individually based on our needs, rather than simply following the Basic Obedience Guidelines.

My dog came to me with a number of anxieties and problems being a rescue and we have successfully worked through them. The owner is very knowledgeable and patient, and we always talk everything through so I know what we are going to do before we do it. As far as training collars go, we discuss the benefits and needs for each of them, if needed, before using them.

Both me and my dog are trained on how to properly use the collars so that that are not misused. Ultimately, I have the option to use them or not, and when it comes to day care they are not used without my consent. Overall I would not choose any other place to train or board my dog. I couldn't ask for better care!
