For over 50 years, Dr. Jones devoted his life to improving the lives of all the animals and families he served. He was the heart of our Ark family, and his absence will forever leave a void within us all.A sincere thank you to all of our clients for your kind words, condolences, thoughts, and prayers since the loss of Dr. Jones. Whatever the life stage of your pet, from puppies and kittens to geriatric individuals, we provide comprehensive wellness care tailored to your specific pet's lifestyle and needs. These services include "from nose to toes" comprehensive physical examinations, vaccinations, routine parasite screening, appropriate blood work and other laboratory testing, microchipping, anal gland expression, nail trimming, and more depending on the specific needs of your pet.Our experienced doctors and staff look forward to answering any questions or addressing any concerns you may have about your pet's health during your visit with us!
We boast top-of-the-line diagnostic equipment, an extensive in-house pharmacy, and compassionate and experienced staff to provide the exceptional care your pet deserves when injured or suffering from an acute illness or chronic condition. We welcome emergency visits from established clients/patients during normal business hours, within consideration of the time and effort needed to provide the best care possible for current inpatients and outpatients previously scheduled for appointments.We welcome collaboration with appropriate specialist or critical care hospitals when necessary to meet the specific needs of your pet.
In addition to routine spay and neuter procedures, we offer a variety of procedures such as (but not limited to) entropion correction, growth removal, feline declaw, dewclaw removal and tail docking for puppies, bladder surgery, and more. We also offer full dental cleanings, including ultrasonic scaling and polishing of the teeth, and extractions as needed.
We understand how difficult it is to make the decision to say goodbye to a good friend, and we aim to make that process as seamless as possible for you and your pet. All patients undergoing this procedure have an IV catheter placed and are given a sedative beforehand to calm their nerves. We partner with local, family-operated Plumtree Pet Services to provide you with exceptional cremation and interment services in the aftercare of your pet. Due to my dog's allergies, we have been to several several vet offices in his seven years. At least 20 between regular vets, ER vets, and specialists. This was the first time I've left after a vet visit feeling like all my questions were answered and feeling confident he was in good hands. Everyone I encountered was very friendly, sincere, and knowledgeable.
Both the tech and the vet took their time with us, fully explained everything and provided expected costs up front. Final costs were actually considerably lower than quoted. Most importantly- my dog felt comfortable here. Night and day difference between how he acted here vs. every other previous vet. Dogs know good people, and this office was full of them. Would definitely recommend!

The vet and the assistant were great with both of my cats! They checked their weight, teeth, and trimmed their claws. My black cat who hates everyone was purring and sweet as can be with them, he was instantly calm and didnt fight them at all. They are absolutely wonderful with the animals, I look forward to continuing my animals' care with Ark!

Dr. Wooly was absolutely wonderful with our 13 yr old Chihuahua Oliver. He has congestive heart failure and was acting off and our regular vet was out of town, but he had recommended Dr. Jones at The Ark. Dr. Wooly was very through and very caring. She found he was dehydrated and had a UTI. Sent us home with meds and print outs of the tests they had done so we could talk with our vet when he returned. Happy to say Oliver is feeling much better! So thankful for Dr. Wooly and their awesome staff for seeing us so quickly even though we weren't regular clients.

Dr. Jones and his staff are super professional. They enjoy their job and realize that they deal with the well being of the animal as well of the owner of the pet. I am very grateful that, after many years of visiting different vets (for a few years, we even drove all the way to Charleston seeking good, compassionate vet care), we finally found Dr. Jones.
