I have taken three dogs to Margarat. Eddie was a rescue that had some health challenges. He had gruesome gas and alternated between constipation and diarrhea. Margarat helped us move Eddie to a raw diet, which improved his constitution 100%. Later we sought end of life care for pain. Eddie had licked all the hair off of his legs due to stress. Margarat gave us acupressure points and some flower essences.

Of course, I doubted this info, but I have to admit that it worked. The second dog was Frankie, a greatly malnourished but picky eating rescue. Margaret helped us get him on a diet that worked for him. She knows the products available and is very knowledgeable about supplements. Today we consulted for Gwen who has recently been diagnosed with CUPS disease.

We have the challenge of needing to keep her mouth free of plaque at all times. Margarat provided ideas for supplementing Gwen's diet and ways to deal with the process of home care. I am looking forward to updating this Yelp comment with our good success in a few months. The only complaint I have had over the years about Margarat is she does not charge enough.

I've known Margarat for over 10 years and her knowledge of dog wellness is incredible. She is a wealth of knowledge and considers the well-being of animals over costs. She considers different levels of incomes, which is something traditional vet services over look. Although I do not have a dog friend, she helped me through the geriatric years of my 19 year old cat who passed away in 2012.

She recommended supplements and trusted companies to keep my old guy going peacefully through his transition. I would recommend and do recommend Art of Dog to any dog owner out there. She's mobile and willing to work with you. Most of the time, honestly, issues with animals lie with the owner and not with the animal. Behavior needs to be recognized on both sides.

Mixed results. Margarat appears knowledgeable and provided a detailed first assessment. My 13-year old golden retriever didn't really take too her and actually vomited (very rare) shortly after a session with her. I was also a bit taken back to see the topic of my pet's assessment a headline feature in her online blog. Worth a try, but also seek second opinions.
