Just by calling the first thing they asked was what kind of dog, I said pitbull mix and they said oh no sorry nothing available for them. (THEY DONT LIKE PITBULLS)

Could not be happier! Luv the owner and the place. Excellent customer service and very loving and gentle with my dog. I highly recommend it. Five stars all the way

They don't have do-it-yourself dogwash there anymore so I opted for the full service dogwash for my Chihuahua. They did an OK job With my Dog But the staff didn't seem very personable. A dog owner wants to feel like the groomer really likes dogs, and I didn't get a feeling like this at all. It felt kind of like they wanted to get the dogs in-and-out as fast as they could so they could Start on another dog. Sitting in the car Just outside the back door I heard a lot of dog yelping. since I was not inside to see the reason for this I won't make any assumptions, but I never heard this at my previous dog groomer.

And the shampoo they used Does not have a very pleasant smell even hours afterwards. As I was paying a very large dog jumped out of a tub And came towards me and my Chihuahua. not in an aggressive way. Maybe just trying to escape a bath? Still, it was a little bit of a scary moment because even being playful, a large dog can hurt a small dog. Gave this place a shot. Now I'll return to my normal groomer.

Obnoxious asshole who trued to walk in the back. The sign on your business said if u have an appointment walk to the back. Nice try to make excuses for your rude behavior. Even your choice or words will lose you customers! Also abusive behavior. Dont even want u speaking to my dog like that let alone a human being. Better business bureau the city ans the chamber of commerce have been sent our massaging! Good luck with all that hate

I did not read the description about this being a full service salon and brought my dog here to wash him myself on his birthday after finding them on Google maps. they informed me that it wasn't a self wash but were willing to squeeze my fluffy baby in before his party so he would look nice. He was clean and fluffy in about and hour and looked great when I came back to get him, and they even gave him a little bow tie! Good customer service and great price- I would recommend if you are in the area.

I have a really nice smart dog he is so smart And hes not aggressive what the lady says but it makes me very angry Because the way That she do grooming it was really bad Some of his body he has long and short hair not even, and I pay $50 for it and I told the lady to redo it again and she refused to do it I ask for a refund and she says she's not gonna be able to do it I lost my money $50 And she told me not to bring the dog to the place anymore I was upset

I like to bring my chihuahua here for nail trims. The staff is easy to work with and accommodating to my dogs needs, as he doesn't always need all 4 paws trimmed.

Only our second time here. My dog is a rescue and a bit skittish. They did a great job and seemed very gentle with her. Plus with their shampooing her skin condition has gone. A great local business to support! Before and after pics. ( I requested super short as her hair was pretty matted in some places.)

My pup loves this place! Due to Covid we have been dropping him off to get a bath instead of using the self-serve option. The hand-off between us and the staff is always safe, quick and easy and my pup is always excited to run right in. They are quick, and do a great job every time. I feel great dropping my pup off with the Barkin'dales staff for his bathing/grooming!

I've been getting my dog(s) nails clipped and glands expressed here for years. The owner is awesome and everyone whom I've interacted with has been super helpful.

They did an amazing job taming my dog Sahara's wild winter coat and made her look so adorable! They cut her hair exactly as I asked! I was hesitant since the last place I attempted to take Sahara refused to groom her since she refused to go with them. They made Sahara feel comfortable and she was in and out in an hour!

This is the only place we take our goldendoodle! They are friendly, easy to book, great with my dog, and do a wonderful job keeping him looking and smelling great. Highly recommend.

Literally called seconds ago, the woman kept repeating "I don't know" as in having an attitude towards my questions. This would have been my first time ever taking my pet to the groomers (first pet that requires being groomed). Personally if I am calling a business, asking questions, I don't expect for the representative to have an attitude while answering my questions.

I then asked for an appointment and then she cut me off and said "my next available isn't until 2 weeks". Well Thankyou for being kind and service like and answering my questions, this left a bad taste in my mouth. I will not be considering this place, and the funny thing is, I was recommended. Welp not going anymore!

I just picked up Maxine, our 7 yr old Spoodle. She had a full groom. Briana did an amazing job. We moved from San Marcos to Talmadge a year ago. We've tried 3 different groomers including a mobile groomer, never quite finding the right cut for Maxine. Barkindales is very reasonable and offers a convenient location and timely groom. We finally found our groomer! Thank you Barkindales!

I rarely ever write a review for any business but I was so impressed I had to. The girls answered our questions and educated us as to what was better for our husky. Everything we needed was right there next to us. Thank you so much for a great experience. This is definitely our go to place now.

This place is great. The staff are down to earth and really easy to talk to. I had a Samoyed groomed here. It's a big job to groom a Samoyed. Tons and tons of fur. They did a great job for a very fair price. The dog looks amazing now. He's gotten so many compliments in the last couple days. Someone even recognized him walking down the street. Appearantly they also go to Barkin'dales and love it. I would recommend this place to anyone with grooming needs.

UPDATE: Owner claims that she had not placed the slip leash yet on my dog when my dog got loose and ran off. Absolutely incorrect! I followed her instructions just as she told me to do and she had already placed the slip leash on my dog and then she had instructed me to remove my dog's harness which was when he took off while the owner let go of the slip leash aftr I had already removed it.

I followed each instruction she gave me wanting to comply with the new restrictions in place. I never got an apology and you took off leaving me to gather my other dog, replace his harness and then try to locate my lost dog who took off down El Cajon Blvd. Owner has yet to apologize and accept any responsibility for this. Instead she was yelling at me once I got my dog back that I should not have had him run across the street.

I had no other way to get my dog back after she let it go! Now the owner is claiming I am going to cause her to have panic attacks the rest of her life. Absolutely zero ability to take any responsibility in what happened today! Many inaccuracies and fallacies have been made by this owner who btw does not have the best track record in the neighborhood and as I left once I got my dog she was involved in some sort of conflict in front of the smoke shop two doors down.

Absolutely appalling but she just will not stop! I just had a horrible, harrowing experience thanks to the complete lack of professionalism and ignorance I just experienced at Barkin'dales Dog Wash & Boutique. Do not take your dogs there unless you want to risk losing them. I took my two dogs there for a de-shed appointment and bath and due to their new requirements I was not allowed to walk them into the shop and had to meet the owner in the back alley.

She told me to remove all of their harnesses and collars and thread them through the slip leash she placed on them which she did. As she did that, my dog got loose and went running down El Cajon Blvd! Which she then proceeded to take off after my dog leaving me to try to capture my other dog which was let go of! I had no idea where she went or where my dog went and was beside myself.

Some employees of the Smoke shop saw me and started helping me try to get my dog and located him for me. I was able to get him to go across the street and come back to me. If you run after these dogs especially if you do not know them they will keep running, that was my only option to ever see my beloved dog again. The owner is telling me not to have him run across the street as if he is going to wait for the crosswalk light to come on and politely stroll back to me!

Then to make matters worse, she starts lecturing me that I was the one that made the mistake and so the employees that helped me started telling her to STFU so she called the police on them! Unbelievable! I'm just so glad to have my dog back because I honestly thought that was it and I would never see him again. I was trying to be helpful but I should have never ever listened to her when she told me I would have to take everything off of them in the back alley and just rely on a slip leash. I am sure the owner will write some sort of response trying to blame me, but there is no excuse for what just happened. No excuse.

I've been coming here for almost 2 years and it has become my regular place. It is clean and well kept most of the time and always has great music playing so I can jam while washing my dog. I love that they include everything within the sec-wash price (shampoo, conditioner, towels, hair dryer, dog perfumes, combs, scissors, even leave in conditioner!) The owner recognizes me and my dog even when we haven't come in in a long time and always knows the special shampoo and conditioner he needs and has it all set up even before I walk in the door.

She is definitely more of a dog person than a people person but I personally have not had a problem with her as I keep the talk small and just do my business and go. Definitely will keep coming back especially because you get a free wash every 10th time.

Such a wonderful environment. Will definitely be returning with our Great Dane puppy!

Megan is great! She trims Poppy's nails and always tells her she's so pretty. It's convenient and fast!

Let me first start out by saying, my review is not regarding a single bad experience. It is regarding every single time I have ever went there, which is approximately half a dozen times in the past six months. As of today, we are so proud to say we found a new groomer, prouder to say it's NOT Barkin'dales! We have taken our rescue here several times, and each time the owner is more rude than the last.

She seems like a terribly miserable person. I walk in happy to pick up our pup, and walk out pissed off over her countless rude remarks every time. Even on the brightest sunniest days here in San Diego, this woman seems to have the most sour attitude, and frankly it's sad. If you can't be happy being around dogs all day you're hopeless.

A few weeks ago after listening to her complain about everything we made the decision to never bring our dog back, and today we found a great groomer in Tierrasanta. If you read the comments you'll see many people saying the same thing. This many people can't be wrong. My advice to the miserable owner, step back, hire a manager, and stay away from speaking to customers. You do your business a huge disservice, And frankly I just feel sorry for you.

I LOVE this groomer. Megan is the best. I have always seen them groom one dog at a time, which leads to my pup spending less time in a stressful environment. I always make sure to grab a couple cod skin treats, which Megan describes as a potato chip for dogs. My dog absolutely loves them. I make a point to always buy gifts for my friends dogs here, and so far everyone has loved everything I've gotten there.

They have a really nice selection of leashes and collars too. We get compliments on his haircut all the time. I'll post pictures of him at various stages, from freshly cut to in need of a trim.

I love the self wash here. The price is reasonable $16 for my Pomeranian and they provide all the necessary grooming tools (comb, brushes, toe nail clippers, blow dryers that aren't on timers). Hands down my favorite self grooming spot

Great shop. I actually buy my dog food here, which is priced well and there's a loyalty program. I've used the dog wash service which is top notch. No time limit, soaps, towels, and treats included. I have no need for grooming services, but if I did, my kids would come here. Prices are reasonable, staff is competent, and the grooming is included in the loyalty program.

I've seen dozens of dogs post-groom while I'm at the counter paying for chow and they look fantastic. Lastly, the people here are awesome. They really love dogs and it shows.

Came in today around 6:30pm because they close at 7pm and self-service normally takes us 10 mins so we figured we'd be able to get a wash in since we had just gotten back from the beach. We walk in and ask to wash our pup and the owner was not friendly at all and says, "we're not doing self-service anymore because we literally just cleaned everything." She didn't even suggest we come back tomorrow or offer to wash our pup or anything. You're telling me a person who claims their dream is to "own a dog wash" and cares for "customers and their fur babies" will refuse to let someone wash their pup 30 mins before close?

People buy treats, food, and toys because of the wash. If you want to have an "Open" sign then everything should be available. No where does it say "we stop self-service 30 minutes before close." Otherwise I would understand. Definitely will not be receiving our business which is very unfortunate because we live down the street and the place is really nice plus the name is clever. However, the rejection along with the other reviews about how the doggies are treated here plus her rudeness to customers is not worth the convenience.

All the ladies here are wonderful and friendly! My pups don't mind coming to visit either! They do a great job in grooming my small poodle mix and deshedding my husky. Great variety of supplies when using the dog wash and Megan always has great tips for home care.

This little hairy rascal gets the royal treatment at Barkin'dales. Not only do we get his raw food from here but we get his treats and little accessories too. We just started getting him groomed too! This is a photo after his second grooming here. He got all his whispies trimmed up and a full de-shedding as well as all washed up. He smells bomb! Spoil your dog here ASAP.

Been coming here for a few months now, and we never leave with out a smile! Love the staff always so friendly and funny. The shampoos smell amazing as well as the mud bath we Always add on. Also got badger nails trim by the girls last time and they made it look so easy for our fur baby. (She never lets us do it at home)

We love Barkin'dales! I brought Luna here after needing a close to home dog wash. They are SO kind. They go above and beyond. Sometimes there is a little 5 min wait on the weekends. But they provide a HUGE selection of shampoos and face washes that are included in the price of the self wash. Great management. Always clean. 10000% recommend to a friend.

I love barkin'dales! It's a cute little convenient shop. My husband's grandmother passed away and we ended up with her dog Larry. He loves being spoiled and it's on our walking path. Totally affordable and fun. It feels good spoiling your dog. I even take my landlords dog. They are best buds!
