Dr. Charles C. Ellithorpe attended Texas A&M University for his undergraduate studies and received his doctorate in veterinary medicine in 1991. His veterinary interests include cardiology, surgery and dentistry. He also has advanced training in diagnostic ultrasound and orthopedic surgery. Additionally, he teaches first-aid to many of Maine's police dog handlers to help ensure their canine partner's safety in the event of an emergency.
Our client service team is dedicated to helping make sure that you and your pet receive personalized service and will work with you to ensure that your individual needs are met. From answering phones and scheduling appointments to client education and working to get your questions answered, our client service team is a vital part of your pet's care team.
Regular grooming plays an important role in your pet's health. We are here to help with those breeds that require more than the occasional bath and brush out. From lion cuts for your feline or breed specific cuts for your dog to helping your new puppy become familiar with the grooming process; we want to work with you to ensure that your pet looks and feels great!
Our kennel staff takes enormous pride in caring for your pets when you are not able to be with them. Their days are filled with taking care of your family pet, and making sure they are comfortable. Our kennel team devotes their day to walking, feeding, giving medications, bathing, brushing, cleaning, playing and handing out treats to our many boarders and daycare pets.

The team, especially Dr. Magenis is always wonderful to my chihuahua Chili Dog. Although Chili Dog hates going to the vet, I am confident in every visit that we will be shown compassion and receive quality care. Bath-Brunswick Veterinary Associates goes over the top for Chili Dog!

Very friendly, our Bella does not mind the visit and loves the attention. Wish they had an outside bench to sit and wait, we often have to walk to visits.

This was Laci's first visit since moving to Maine. Everything went very smoothly from the moment I called to get her first visit scheduled. Very pleasant staff and wonderful curbside service. I feel very confident about the future of Laci's care here

Horrible wait times. They say an appointment is a for a specific time and that's when you show up. then you wait 30 min in the parking lot before they even take your dog inside. If a pet is having an emergency it should be treated as such. The actual veterinarians are great. The rest of the staff doesn't seem to care

Such a wonderful practice in every way! We love every doctor, tech, and staff member here, both on the veterinary side as well as boarding/grooming side. We will never take our three "fur kids" anywhere else: BBVA is the gold standard for outstanding pet care in Midcoast Maine!

Fantastic service, been going her for years. Dr. Chretien is the best, my dogs seem to love him! Clear communication and billing. No surprises. Wouldn't take my doggos anywhere else!

I need to revise this review because soon after leaving the review below, Dr. Magenis pretty much saved my dogs life. She, along with the medical surgeons and staff in Portland, acted swiftly to have a 7.5 x 10.5 mass removed from my dog's liver. Dr. Magenis was able to secure a spot for Max in Portland Emergency Hospital and get him right in for care.

I'm so grateful to Dr. Magenis and her staff. My dog has been a patient of Dr. Magenis since moving to Maine one year ago. He's had some minor/senior liver issues and Dr. Magenis has been very communicative and helpful with his treatments. COVID has changed the way we do business and it's very upsetting for me (and most dog owners) not to be able to go into the office with dogs/cats. Dr. Magenis makes you feel better and she takes the time to chat with you and ensures she answers your questions. I've never seen the inside of this establishment because of COVID and I'm not pleased about that but I am happy with the doctor and staff. I do recommend their services.

I took my lab in because of a limp in her left back leg. The staff were friendly and professional, and I didn't have to wait long to see the Veterinarian, Dr. Kevin Chritien. Prior to this "Penny" had surgery for early cancer detected from a lump in one of her teats. Both times she had been given the utmost care and attention to detail. As an owner, I was given several suggestions for treatment options from conservative "watch-and-wait", to more extensive diagnostic tests, and was well-informed on what was most likely the best course of action to take. Penny recovered beautifully from her surgery, without complications, several months ago, and still acts like a pup at age 9, which is why she ended up with a muscle strain recently. The facility is clean and inviting, and there is a place for pet relief outside with bags available and a receptacle for quick clean up. I highly recommend care here.
