The Benevolent Animal Rescue Committee's mission is to control the dog and cat population and find the best new home possible for abandoned pets. Our rescued dogs and cats include strays, pets turned over to us by their owners, and some that we rescue from city and county shelters. We alter every dog and cat BEFORE they can be adopted.
Continuous Monthly Support will help ensure the future of all of our sheltered animals! It is simple to have your credit card charged each month a small dollar figure that will help keep our projects funded. We can always use blankets, towels, newspaper, dog crates, dog treats, dog toys, and dog beds.
1. Fill Out an Application - You can fill out an application online or at one at one of our Adoption Shows. Note: It will save time if you fill out online and bring your printed application with you to any Adoption Show. 2. We may have additional info to give you depending on the animal you are asking to adopt.

I had the worst experience with carol over my wording when talking about a dog. She asked if I knew a dog I was going to see in a couple of hours will be neutered I said yes she then proceeded to say I sound "unsure" I told her no I'm not unsure my dogs in the past have been neutered. She then says you will need to bring him back to be neutered I said ok.

Immediately her tone changes and she says I need applicant who will say of course I will bring him back to get neutered. we need to think about it, then hangs up in my face! She is one of the rudest people I've met in a while. It's unbelievable how people who are supposed to help the public find their next babies can be so careless, rude, disparaging, ignorant and disheartening! Do not put your trust in them they will let you down!

BARC, everyone should donate, anything you can afford, to this place! The lady at BARC, was so patient and kind. You could tell she loves animals. She has a dozen cats at her house and even more at the site, located next to cherry valley feed store on Vineland st and Beaumont Ave. Please check them out and thank them for all their hard work!

Next door to the feed store, and full of interesting things. It's a friendly place, and who doesn't want to help dogs in need?

My second favorite thrift store. I like coming in to see their Knick knacks, decorations, pet supplies, odds & ends miscellaneous items. I always find something good worth buying. Their prices are fair majority of the times, except for the clothing, but when they have a special sale on clothing then it's worth the money it cost. Nice little atmosphere and nice ladies that work here, and always cute little kitties to come in and say "hi" to.

If you haven't been here I recommend you come check it out. And their sales profit a great cause. Donate your unwanted items here too, it helps give vet care to their future adoptable pets. I barc thrift store!

The absolute rudest most Disgusting people I have ever met. They discriminate against people living in condos and only adopt to homeowners. You can adopt a child without a yard but not a dog. How dumb is that. I told them I believe it's discrimination and I will be reporting them to the proper authorities. The owner is a real jerk and her cell # is 9512171550 Pls call her If you think it's ridiculous to deny dogs to people who live in condos

Our dog had been given up for adoption in Feb 2020 as a 2 mth old and we adopted her in September. We are not crazy animal lovers generally, but were looking for a pet. I was very reticent to take a rescue dog at all, for fear it was unwanted for a reason, might have been mistreated and if so, would never recover, but my wife (as always) had the good sense to ignore me.

When we arrived at Barc in Banning, CA to collect her, she was extremely timid, but Carol assured us that she was in fact very outgoing and friendly, but if we changed our minds for any reason we could return her. Our dog (Roo) settled in within a few days, was pretty-much house trained after 4 months. She is just the most adorable and intelligent pet we've had and feel so lucky that we found her. Thanks Barc.

We got our wonderful and amazing LouLou at BARC and we will be eternally grateful to them for it. Yes, it is a large, volunteer run organization and somewhat unwieldy, but get over it -- it's about the dogs. BARC does the good work of actually rescuing lots of dogs in an area with huge stray and unwanted dog populations issues. They do have a return policy, so if the dog you take home is not a good fit, you have plenty of options. Thank you BARC, LouLou enriches our lives every single day.

I have heard about BARC all over in the area. I know they rescue a lot of dogs. I couldn't believe it when I went to the facility to check out the dogs. It's a back of a warehouse with kennels just stacked on top of each other. The volunteers are so busy running around and trying to feed and walk each one that they don't take the one on one time to answer questions.

We did end up getting a dog from them and I asked a number of times about her cough (should have been a HUGE red flag). She said she had been treated. WE took her home and that night was awful, she is a really sick dog. I wasted no time and took her to the vet first thing when they opened the next day. Paid good money for 2 emergency shots of antibiotics and tummy meds and got sent home with 2 more meds.

I called the rescue after we got home to discuss her health and they informed me the adoption contract stats we are to call the rescue if they are sick not the vet. They would NOT be willing to pay me for any of the vet bills. All I could do is return the dog under their 1 week return policy and they refund her cost but I would still be out the vet bills.

Why in the world would I ever do that?!?! So you can put a sick dog right back into that room with all the others and her never get better?!? She is my dog now and I will get her better, but not even a discount is AWFUL customer service! Especially because they knew she was sick!

About a week ago, my father and I went to turn in an application. When hearing that our current dogs are outside the owner proceeded to stereotype us saying that outside dogs are neglected, become aggressive and are not part of the family. She refused to allow us to adopt the dog despite our want to train the new puppy to be inside and outside. And said that the dog we were interested in is already gone (when we were told 5 min earlier by an employee that we could meet her because she was there).

We have never been treated with so much aggression or judgment and I felt horrible for leading my father into a place that would treat him that way. I hope the puppy finds a nice home but I will never return to or recommend that shelter for the simple fact that they did not even take the time to learn about my family or look at our application before telling us that we were underqualified and essential uncapable because of our current pets situation.

On a side note, my dad has 30 years experience with the type of dog we wanted to adopt. How can you run an establishment like that with such a horrible, unloving, uncaring, rude personality. I feel horrible for the dogs that can't find a home simply because you treat people that way.

The Lady who runs this program and others who volunteer have serious attitude problems, I had asked if I could volunteer and the Lady Carol who runs the program started yelling at me accusing me of being a convict of some sort, not to sure of her mental state and her aggression should be reported to proper authorities, I have also seen this woman yell at petco employees as if she runs the store I feel bad for anyone who has to deal with Barc and feel even worse for the animals.

One star given for their poor customer service, I feel totally bad for the dogs in this group. It seems they only adopt to friends or family
