Stop by and meet Trouble, our resident Ruby macaw, and see our baby parrots. We also offer nail and wing trimming 7 days a week by appointment, and have a boarding facility available!

The Bird Shop was founded on St. Patrick's Day, 1979, as an independent, family-operated, specialty bird store. We take pride in keeping up with the latest information to improve the life of your bird. The Bird Shop has been MAP (Model Aviculture Program) certified and dedicated to providing healthy, well-adjusted pet birds and ethical business practices.
You will be charged for each day your bird is here regardless of the time dropped off or picked up. The maximum length of stay is 30 Days. We do not accept any birds on medication or any birds still being handfed. You may reserve one of our cages or bring your own. Please remember to bring toys so your bird will have something to do.
The Capitol City Bird Society is based in Sacramento, CA. CCBS sponsors educational events to support and encourage the understanding of and the care of exotic birds, such as macaws, cockatiels, conures, finches, canaries, Amazons and love birds. The Foothill Bird Fanciers is a northern California organizaton based in Auburn which is dedicated to the conservation, care, understanding and breeding of birds. It was founded in 1977 by a small group of aviculturists. The purpose was to be able to meet monthly and share experiences with breeding birds.

First time going to The Bird Shop, found it was great! I had been all over town looking for mixed nut for my Moluccan Cockatoo and could not find what I needed until I arrived at The Bird Shop. I ended up finding a great large table perch, toys, all kinds of nuts, pellets, and so much more! Will, the person that helped me was just so nice and helpful and knowledgable! I will definitely be going there on a regular basis!

I have 4 large parrots. Within the past 2 years my birds have been staying at the Bird Shop during times when I had to travel. I am always amazed at the level of care and professionalism The Bird Shop employees maintain. I never worry about my 30 plus yr old birds. Thank you for your love and caring attitude.

Great place! Friendly, truly caring staff who answer all questions. Healthy, well kept variety of birds. We've been coming here about 2 years for wing clippings/nails/food and everything else. They always treat us so well and always treat our bird with compassion and care. Highly recommend for boarding, and healthy happy pet purchases.

The Bird Shop has been our go to location for everything bird related for many years now. We've purchased three birds form this business. The staff are knowledgeable and courteous. They stay open 7 days a week and treat their customers like family. Avoid the big box pet stores for anything bird related and patronize this great local business.
