Took my yorkie poo here to get groomed after being turned away from Petco because my pup wouldn't let them anywhere near his face. Animal doctor found that there were open wounds on his face from being attacked by an animal (most likely a raccoon), but it was covered by his hair (so I had no idea). They sedated him, cleaned the wound, finished his grooming, and sent me home with antibiotics and pain meds, all for $100.

I was so pleased they took such good care of him and will never go anywhere else for grooming (and everything else). They were understaffed when I went, but still took ample time to explain everything to me and were so nice to my pup. They called me to provide updates and asked before doing anything that would cost more than what was expected. Next month I'm taking him to get some teeth pulled/dental cleaning, and I feel very confident he'll be left in good hands.

Also should note - on a normal day (no open wounds), his grooming would only cost $45 here, which is cheaper than PetSmart or Petco, even with their military discount. AND I get peace of mind that he will be cared for properly and taken out to relieve himself. My pup also has major anxiety and typically everywhere we go I get judgement like it's my fault.

But not here! They know how to handle animals with these types of issues and don't place the blame on the owner. They did recommended I might bring him in more often (which may sound like a sales ploy) but I could tell they were really wanting to help me get his anxiety under control. I put him on a 6 week grooming routine which also gives me a discount.

I think it's going to be perfect for my pup! They also are very upfront about pricing. They take the time to go through quotes and tell you exactly what needs to be done, and what is optional. I'm so incredibly happy I took my pup here!

I brought my dog here as a puppy when I got him in April for his vaccinations and puppy wellness visits. In between his puppy shots and appointments, we visited another vet that I felt would be more cost effective at that moment. I quickly learned that there aren't many places that provide services with as much care for the pups as Blue Hills. The nurse was well educated and thorough and the doctor was in within minutes completing tests and providing a diagnosis and treatment.

I've seen a handful of vets, and all of them have been thorough and helpful in their care. I would MUCH rather pay extra and know my dog is getting the best care- worth every penny.

We are first time pet owners and a little nervous about picking a vet to take our kitties to. After hearing glowing reviews from friends, we took them to Animal Doctor Blue Hills. They took such good care of our babies and it's clear that all of their staff truly love the animals they work with!

Do not go there to have your pet groomed and be careful with them charging for things you never asked them to do for any medical purposes. Regarding grooming: They have "samples" of what the length of fur will be after the groom that are inaccurate, and after telling you that they know the "synthetic hair samples" are inaccurate they do nothing about it to fix the issue. Additionally, they do not attend to notes of what to do.

For example, when asked to shave inside of dogs ear (to better manage issues), they did not. None of what was requested met anything close to satisfaction or even acceptable. When confronted about it, they did nothing more than "oh well." Money down the drain, as I already have set up a grooming appointment with another group (4 days from now). Regarding vet services: I had just finished an appointment 5 days ago at their sister office (AD Westside) where my dog had an exam and received some medication for an allergy medication.

Their sister office recommended the groomers and said that once I had the forms of what vaccines my dog had from a previous vet office (we just moved), that Blue Hills could administer any vaccines needed prior to the groom. I brought the forms and asked to do the needed vaccines and the grooming, along with a fecal exam (as it was timely). They apparently did an "annual exam, " which I did not ask for, as I told them when we arrived for drop of that he just had an exam at their sister office.

My point here is to be careful. Read everything they give you, because I misplaced my trust in thinking that what they would say is what I was seeing in an invoice. However that was not the case. Read the other reviews, trust the negative ones for what they are. Sure they were "friendly, " but I needed services done accurately and not such that I have to have them redone or where they are redoing an exam that I had just paid for 5 days previously. Honestly I wish I could have given 0 stars for this review. There are other places in and out of town that will better meet your needs, my advice would be to go somewhere else.

Very caring and kind ppl. Friendly and understanding of people's financial situations. Very helpful to me and my sick pup even tho I was very low in funds helped me figure out a plan to try to save my pup and be within my price range as well giving me a few things xtra to help. 10 out of 10 recommended to anyone in need of a vet.

They really seem to have a genuine love for animals. Granted, we haven't had a "big emergency, " but they are very competent and attentive to our routine medical needs. (That includes shots, maintenance meds, and check-ups.) Their prices are equal to or better than any other similar services I was able to locate in MHK. I haven't tried their boarding program yet so I have no opinion on that. In short, I'm very satisfied thus far.

Always have had a good experience, kind staff to me and my little psycho. Timely appointment and affordable. Would definitely recommend! Saw someone else mention something about not going if you have a pit, I have a pitty mix and did not at all have a similar experience.

Dr. O'Meilia and staff gave their full time and attention to my dog. They were caring, informative and attentive to my needs as a pet owner. I appreciate the peace of mind that my dog is in good hands at their clinic.

My husband and I really love the Animal Doctor at Blue Hills. They are so good and very honest. They do not try to talk you into anything you don't want at that time. They are very informative and they will print up for you any information you want. They also explain everything to you in a way you'll understand it. We had Deb Nelson today and she's really really good.

Even her assistants are very good and very helpful. We just love them. I highly recommend you to take your pets there. I can guarantee you will love them as much as we do. Even our dogs love it there as well. I hope you will consider taking your pets there. All it takes is first time there and you'll want to continue to take your fur babies there everytime. You'll love them too.

We had our cat spayed recently, and it was our first time having a pet go under the knife. The staff was very professional and kind. Their rates and scheduling ability is better than we found in the area and we were satisfied with the value.

We're from out of town and our puppy got attacked by another dog on Friday night. We needed to get him to a vet ASAP so we showed up at 8am Saturday morning without an appointment. The vet was very compassionate and graciously made time to see him. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They thoroughly examined him and gave us the medication he needed.

He stopped limping a day after the visit and is back to playing like normal. The staff was very transparent about cost, and the prices were reasonable. This is a very trustworthy facility and I would not hesitate to refer this place to anyone who needs a good vet. We'll be coming back here if our pup needs anything in the future. To the staff: thank you so so so much for taking good care of our little Otis. You are good people.

I had been taking my dog to another vet and they wanted to do x-rays. They were going to charge me $130 for a single view, not including the exam fee, so I decided to price shop. Blue Hills was the cheapest I could find, charging $60 a view and $50 for a new patient exam. I was so impressed with this clinic. The tech was personable and very sweet with my dog who was very nervous.

The veterinarian was excellent. She explained everything they were going to do, she showed me what she was finding on the physical exam and they showed me the x-ray. After explaining the whole situation to her and concluding that my dog would need a surgery, she told me she had never done one and recommended a different clinic so my dog could get the best care possible.

Anyone saying this clinic is just out for the money doesn't understand vet med and everything that goes into caring for animals. I will be switching my pets over to this clinic for all their care.

I've been with this vet for 7 months and I've read all the other negative reviews. I wish I had listened to them. Initially I was happy but after the second and third visits they had gotten increasingly focused on sales and not necessarily the health of my pets. Visiting them was like visiting a car salesman. To add to that, we had a visit two weeks ago where I told them I wished to buy my pets medication online They started giving me issues and tried scaring me from doing so.

I told them that's what I wanted and after being told they would fill my prescriptions with an online shop, I received a phone call today telling me that they are under new ownership and can no longer allow me to outsource buying his heart worm and flea/tick medicine without coming in to do more test under this new ownership. I wish I had listened to the reviews and we will no longer be using them as our vet. I've never been to a vet clinic so money hungry and I will not be going back.

If you have a pitbull, please do not go here! They were rude, condensing, and disrespectful. As soon as they saw my dog, they asked me if he has bit anyone. They wouldn't see him without a muzzle. I heard them saying mean things about my pit and I in the back. It was the most traumatic and horrible experience.
