As much as I love Dr Duffy with my dogs, the boarding house is not good. I picked up my dog today from the boarding house and after being away for 4 days, he's covered in pee as if he'd been laying it and as if other dogs had peed on him with yellow stains all over his coat, and his paws are covered in poop along with his bottom. I'm disgusted from the smell coming off him especially since I gave him a bath before we left and very disappointed in this place right now. Will continue to take him to the vet, but probably not the boarding house again.

The Boarding House is the BEST! My dogs have been going there for years. Currently my Golden Retriever goes there twice a week. She LOVES it! I travel quite a bit and she boards there and LOVES IT, too. The staff is wonderful lead by Kevin. Some of the staff are Dawn, Jason, Anto ( the excellent groomer) and their assistants. I thoroughly recommend The Boarding House Helshi Norwalk

0 is my rating. My review was deleted out of retaliation of the truth off their facebook page! This post regards The Boarding House in Norwalk CT! Do not board your pets! This place is not a place to board your pets! Be warned the manager doesn't feed your dogs or cats two times a day he feeds them all their food in one sitting! He let's older dogs sit in their urine, and one time it took him FIFTEEN minutes to get from his apartment upstairs above the kennel on a Sunday for a medical emergency with a dog. Needless to say a dog who was living life fine even tho he suffered from seizures, DIED because of his laziness.

I was covered in blood and so was my coworker while we were trying to save the dogs life while we wanted for Kevin Burns, Kennel Manager to come downstairs from his apartment cause he was showering. He also fired me for "animal abuse" because I spoke my mind on how he lies to his customers and abuses the animals. He doesnt hit them but he feeds them Breakfast and Dinner in one sitting.

A healthy black lab died from bloat one winter. The back of the kennel has NO HEAT in winter and NO AC in the summer. Mind you i had coworkers who could prove no such thing happened AND he had no cameras to prove it! He told my husband personally months after "We needed to let someone go, and shed been there for 3 years." The psychological damage Kevin placed on me was horrid.

I was in the psych ward for 2 months because of him! He's a liar and only cares about your money not your pets. Do not trust him! I have jobs that will validate my unconditional love for people's pets and how much they trust me over others.

I'm concerned that my dog is being mistreated there. He comes home skinny, and I'm sure he doesn't eat, which isn't their fault, but I also think they are hurting my dog- this is the third time I have boarded him and when I go to pet him after he has a sore spot that makes him yelp when I touch it. I was suspicious the last time but now I will try a new place because I just don't get a good feeling there.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I boarded my puppy here based on recommendations of friends while recovering from an accident. I called every day and get told he is doing fine. I got a call today that said he had something minor wrong with his tail and they were going to have vet take a look at it. I received a second call an hour later telling me that my dog had been bitten twice by another dog and it was infected.

They had no explanations. I immediately arranged to pick up my dog and took him to my vet - my puppy was miserable, he lost 7 pounds in 7 days. Has two major bites and infections and I was just told by my vet that the next 72 hours are critical - the infection has spread. And, no one knew? They are irresponsible and incompetent. My puppy may not make it through the night because of the ignorance of The Boarding House and the Norwalk Vet Hospital.

UPDATE (6/15): just found out they've been grooming my dogs without proof of vaccinations/shots. I was told they'd get everything from vet. I started with a new place that went to transfer copies and they were told the records on file were only partial. Big red flag. _____________________ I use the grooming services for my two dogs. Monthly hair cut (which is basically keeping them in a summer cut all year long) with flea and tick prevention application. That's the typical service.

Every so often they get a bath, which entails nothing unless ineed nails or anal glands done. Sounds easy enough. I picked up on a few things: like the cost varies significantly every visit. Never the same. The most I've ever paid was $150 and that's with the works.last visit the bill came to almost $250 & not only did they not do the flea/tick application (they have my dogs a flea bath for no reason!) They also took it upon themselves to do anal glands at $31 each dog when they just had this done.

I specifically say to them. DON'T DO ANY ADDITIONAL SERVICES UNLESS YOU SPEAK TO ME FIRST. They told me they took note. I get a charge to my card for an astronomical amount and instead of taking responsibility for their errors, they day again "we will note file". They take down your credit card numbers on paper and run them later or can't refund an error on billing.

In past they charged me for a box of flea and tick protection that I didn't buy. Then took three people and my having to go to their owners, Norwalk vet hospital next door, to get it refunded. Don't let people wrote your cards info down and "do it later". That is a security issue! Needless to say we are done. I wad going to change to their vet but not after this experience. Too many mistakes, too many erroneous charges and no one takes responsibility.

I have boarded my dog here in the past and everything has been great, that has all changed. Recently I went on a trip and boarded my dog here for 2 weeks & I only felt comfortable leaving her for so long because like I mentioned she has stayed here before and everything was great. I picked her up after my trip and not only did she look dehydrated but she also looked like she had lost 10 pounds.

I immediately brought here home and gave her some food and ate like she hadn't eaten before. She also had been throwing up. I called the boarding house to figure what happened any why nothing was said to me about her being sick and the response I got from the receptionist was "oh I see a note here saying that she wasn't feeling well!" Not a single person mentioned this to me while I was picking her up.

I also asked them to clip her nails and bathe her before I picked her up and she came home with unclipped nails and also the driest skin she's ever had. So after speaking to the manager and making him aware that she was sick he told me to bring her into the attached vet office and not to worry about the boarding charges. They took her right in and agreed that she looked dehydrated and not fed properly.

I was relived that they at least agreed with me and I wasn't crazy. Fast forward to today when I called back to confirm they were going to refund my money for returning my dog to me in such condition and they "manager" I spoke to began to argue with me over the phone and contradict everything he said yesterday. His exact words were "she didn't look THAT dehydrated and that he would have the owner call me" This will not be the last they hear from me and I would highly recommend boarding your pet somewhere else. The people do not properly care for your animal.
