Chris believes a honest, upfront, no nonsense approach is the best way to truly help you and your dog. If you're not willing to take a look in the proverbial mirror and understand how you, as your dogs owner may have, albeit unwittingly, created or reinforced your dogs negative behaviors then we probably aren't the choice for you.
Whether you need help with basic obedience, advanced off leash obedience or anything in between, our trainers are fully equipped to help you attain your goal! Our award winning trainers and canine behaviorists have years of knowledge and experience with a multitude of dog breeds, ages and temperament.
We now offers video consultations! We've received many inquires from pet dog owners, as well as other trainers across the country and overseas, who seek help but are unable to come to our facility. Whether you're a pet dog owner who isn't sure where to start or what to do with your dog's behavioral issues, or a trainer who is looking for help in specific areas of canine inter-species communication, Chris is here to help.
Our vocational programs are unlike any other! Ours is a "full immersion" program, which means that you will essentially be Chris's - or another staff member's - shadow, and not only gain in-depth canine behavior knowledge but also have hands-on experience with a variety of dogs with different behavior issues.

Chris is a bully and has a problem dealing with determined women. I wanted to dog train more than anything else. Drove over an hour to get there. I was an idealistic student and believed every word. Then one day he just turned mean and hateful, putting me through something I would never have taken for anyone else. I quit but remained wistful. He is a gifted trainer but evil. Stay away if you can. Amy Beckwith

Amazing trainer with over 30 years of experience. He does several seminars during the year. He helps you learn how the dog thinks. Many trainers consult with him whenever they have trouble. If he can't rehabilitate a dog, no one can.

Just finished a weekend seminar with Chris and Dylan. I am still processing everything I learned about myself, my dogs and how I can apply this to our rescue dogs. Chris is incredibly smart, funny & reads dogs better than anyone I have ever met. Dylan is an amazing handler & trainer. He is so talented! I can not wait until the next opportunity I have to learn more from both of them. I wish I could clone them & keep them here in Minnesota. I have so much respect for these guys and am so thankful I had the opportunity to learn from them.

I have been training here for about a year with my German Shepard. We started when he was about 5 months old. I was a little disheartened at first when I found out how tough it was going to be training the dog to be respectful at home (crating him when not training, no furniture, and always on leash). Even more so when it didn't seem like I was getting results or they were coming very slow.

I started working with Dylan, doing private lessons once a week. He just kept reminding me that my dog was still a puppy, and it takes time. I'm glad I listened to him. About 3 months ago, I moved on to public lessons with my dog and he is doing well! Public lessons (usually taught by Chris) have given my dog the opportunity to work with lots of distractions around. Chris is very passionate about dogs and you can tell he loves to teach.

His method of teaching focuses more on the human aspect of things and creating a respect and communication between you and your dog in a way the dog understands. He uses humor to teach but on the same note, he doesn't beat around the bush or sugar coat what you need to know as an owner. His direct approach might not appeal to some, but if you can take a joke and some constructive criticism without breaking down into a sobbing mess, you'll walk away with a bunch of knowledge. Overall, I could not be happier with my experience with the team at CSTS. They keep the classes fun and I always walk away with more tools to properly train my dog.

I just spent an entire day watching the owner train multiple dogs. A no point did I see any indication that he would condone abuse of an animal, as another reviewer commented. In fact, I was very impressed with his knowledge and skill with dogs, which ranged from timid to bold and assertive. There are many trainers out there who are not delivering on their promises, but the trainers at Canine Solutions are on a completely different level of expertise.

If you're tired of luring your dog around with a cookie and getting no where, or you have a dog that no one can seem to help, then go to Canine Solutions and learn the real way to train your dog.

Did we get our $6000 worth? No, we do not feel we have $6000 dogs ($3000 each). We brought our dogs here because we began experiencing extreme aggression toward one another and knew a hospital visit or expensive vet bill was on the horizon, neither of which we wanted. When going to CST, you have to be prepared to be humbled as a dog owner and we understood fully where we were partially to blame for certain behaviors.

One question we were asked at the evaluation was, "what is the one thing our dogs can do and do it every time"? at the time, not much. They only partially listened at best and we had to be assertive to get the response we wanted. At the end of eight weeks, asking the same question to Canine Solution. Answer: still NOTHING. We do not feel they were worked as ofter as we were led to believe, I feel the bedsores they came home with state that fact.

During the past 5 weeks, they are still in crates and only let out when they are worked or bathroom. We have gone back to feeding them 2x a day as our bulldog was incredibly skinny after training. Could we have done with "obedience" training and worked with our boys ourselves with the assistance of Chirs? YES, absolutely, thats pretty much what we got and what we are doing.

The issues that brought us to training HAVE NOT been resolved, nor do we feel that they were addressed and we do not feel that Chris and his staff worked to the goal that we paid for and anticipated receiving. Are we disappointed still, YES. One would think that after being accustomed to a crate, crated for 3 weeks and still crated for another 5 weeks, not to mention the continued daily training, issues would be resolved or at least improving, yet we still have a fearful, whiny barking mastiff and a food/dog aggressive bulldog.

We get the approach and belief of CST but believe we could have received better training and results for half the price with them. We haven't even received a courtesy follow up telephone call to see how things were going or if we wish to continue. Extremely disappointed
