There is a lot of information throughout this website. We want you to feel as informed and comfortable when leaving your pet in our care. We do book up fast for boarding and currently have no openings for new daycare clients that would like to become permanent members to the program. We do ask that only two people inside the building at a time. Remember all dogs must remain on leash inside the building and please do not let them interact in the close quarters of the lobby area.

The average size kennel that a dog stays in is 4ft x 9ft. We have some that are a little smaller (2.5 x 9) and some that are a little bigger (3.5 x 16) All of the kennels are cement block and almost every kennel has a Kuranda bed, check out the beds at www.kuranda.com. Since the kennels are cement block this helps us keep the kennel as sanitary as possible.
Our Groomer, Kim, works Monday - Friday. Grooms are by appointment only! Groom dogs are to be dropped off between 7:30am and 8:30 am, they are usually ready to go after 3 pm but you have until 6 pm to pick them up. Kim will also give you a call to let you know when your dog is done. If you are dropping off your dog for the first time we ask that you come closer to 8:30 am, if possible, to talk to Kim in person.
We can fit one or two cats from the same family in this cage. In each cage, there is a litter box, water, food dishes, and either a carpeted hidey-hole and/or a comfy bed. They must be current on Rabies & Distemper. We do not require but recommend that they have the Feline Leukemia vaccine. Sorry cat clients we do not offer a Free bath after 10 nights of boarding (like we do for the dogs) but we do offer a free toenail trim and a brush out if the cat is friendly and will allow us.We want their stay with us to be as stress-free as possible and not hate coming to board because we are going to brush them out or trim their nails.
If you are dropping off Saturday during our pm hours please have your pet in as close to 5pm as possible. We prefer Rabies and Distemper are given at least 72hrs before boarding, to ensure that your pet will be protected and will not be shedding any viruses to the rest of the dogs. If you do decided to vaccinate your dog make sure your vet is giving the bivalent vaccine it covers both strains of the dog flu H3N2 and H3N8.

Super friendly staff and my dog was very well groomed! Amazing service makes all the difference. There are closer kennels but I was impressed and will make the drive to know my pup is taken care for!

I pick up for my Auntie and have had good experiences with the staff. The "girls" are always happy when I get them which tells me they had a good time.

I love caraway kennels. I don't mind that they dogs don't go potty past 6pm. as Oliver is trained to go early anyways- He always comes home clean happy and healthy. He loves his own vacation time too.

My pup has been visiting Caraway Kennels for several years, mostly for boarding and a bath before coming home. They have daycare and boarding available. Everyone I have been in contact with has been so loving with my dog and he loves going there. CK is off the beaten path, but worth the drive knowing my dog will be treated well and have plenty of canine friends to play with. If you want boarding for holidays you need to reserve dates months in advance.

I have a Husky that doesn't make a peep, so I sincerely appreciate that they offer a separate section for their quiet guests to reduce stress on them. I have found their prices to be reasonable, and they offer additional services like extra one-on-one cuddle time, frozen treats, Kongs, etc for a fair price. They also have monitored play time with other dogs, which I also appreciate, because the alternative at many other kennels or kennel services through vet clinics is that your dog is just kept in a run totally isolated with a few walks a day.

I'll pick Caraway over that every time. In response to some other reviews, I have not found the desk staff to be rude AT ALL - all of the ladies I have interacted with have been lovely. They learned my girl's name and her temperament. I leave knowing she will be taken care of. Saiya gives her thanks!

These guys are the best. Took great care of my dogs while I was gone for 2 weeks and while dogs were happy to see us when we got back they didnt act traumatized by the experience. While they were there they recieved baths and trims and they looked really good. Their fur was so fluffy and clean, trims were good too. I also liked whatever shampoo they used here.

Normally groomers use the same shampoo and I really dont like the smell, this was so much better! I dont love leaving my dogs but it's nice to leave them when you know they are well tended and as happy as they can be while you are away.

Our pups go to Caraway and the staff is amazing. Affordable, friendly, and people I trust. Also VERY affordable. My fur babies are love daycare and go bananas as soon as we pull onto Gulick. Bravo, Mary! We appreciate all that you and your team do for Bird and Bea.

My dogs have been kenneled at Caraway Kennels for many years. They have all been well taken care of there and love having walks added. My first dog used to be traumatized by a different kennel I had used before and it was a relief to discover Caraway. My current furry friend has taken to pulling me into the building, which tells me all I need to know about how well she is treated.

The BEST. Caraway Kennels, or as our dogs know it, 'the puppy ranch', is simply the best ever! I know of no other place that we take our 'kids' that they get excited and want to go even though we leave. Seldom a whine or a glance back as they are lead out of the reception area. The staff and owner are kind, thoughtful and pleasant. Always well-cared for, well-exercised and well-fed. Bathed and thoroughly groomed if requested, our pups come home healthy, happy and refreshed by their vacation time at the puppy ranch!

Such a great place to take your dog! Our one year old boxer loves to go there for daycare and comes home worn out from playing all day! They are reasonably priced and offer discounts and freebies like baths/nail trims for frequent visits. I live in south Lansing and it is definitely worth the drive to Caraway kennels because of the staff and the way they care for the animals!

Love this place. The girls take such great care of our dogs. I'm not sure I want to give such a great review as it is already difficult to get in on busy weekends. Great services all around.daycare, boarding and grooming. Our dogs come home exhausted from playing so much in a day. Prices are very reasonable and the accommodations are more than ample for all canines.

This is an example of some recent amazing care. I was just on vacation for over a week in Europe, with limited ability to communicate with anyone back home. Well the day we leave, one dog gets sick and is in the vet trying to figure out what is wrong, ends up on a special diet and meds. I talked it over with Melissa and she said bring him in anyway."we got this".

Over the course of out trip we got daily reports on our pup and when we got home he was doing much better and was on the mend. Now totally fine. Having that piece of mind while away was great this is just one of the many examples of how great they are. I've had 3 dogs who call this place home away from home and half the time they jump out of the car and kick down the doors to get back in. And 2 of these dogs have been going since they were 8 weeks old.

Picking up our pooch from a week's stay at Caraway. We drive an hour to bring her here. She comes home looking and feeling great instead of an overtired nervous mess that I see so many animals experience after a kennel stay. Caraway is situated on a picturesque farm. They give the animals a lot of outdoor time and cater to each animal's temperament.

We have boarded our dog here for the last 5 years. The staff is friendly and our dog seems happy. He gets to play with other dogs outside we have the option of paying extra for a nature walk. Caraway has hours that are more convenient than some other local kennels and they do not charge a cancelation fee. Making reservations is easy but they do fill up fast so you must plan ahead.
