We encourage all of our clients to participate in preventative oral hygiene programs such as brushing their pet's teeth daily, dental chews and the like; but there are times when a patient may require in-patient dental procedures under anesthesia to properly manage more severe cases of periodontal and gum disease; a fractured tooth; a tooth root abscess or possibly an extraction.
It is our desire to provide the highest quality medical care for our patients and the best possible service to our clients. We also strive to create a harmonious and safe environment for our staff. Not a happy experience, as we came to the clinic with a sick pup and left without him but the staff went above and beyond. I felt like I had been coming to the clinic for years because the staff was so compassionate and understanding. They closed at 11, but allowed us to come in after 10. I will certainly use their services in the future. Thanks to all the staff, we really appreciate everything they did for us in this difficult situation.

My kitties have found their new vet with Dr. Vaughn and they couldn't be happier! The hospital itself does need a lot of updating, but the techs and the doctor were both great!

Unfortunately, we all know that one day the time comes for our fur babies to cross the rainbow bridge.and it is never easy. My poor parents had to face this today, and sadly, they had to bring her here instead of their usual vet. After a long, happy, life.her body was shutting down and her quality of life was no longer measurable. So, after many months of holding on and coming to terms.the hard decision was made to bring her in.

Instead of compassion and professionalism, my family was met with a rude desk attendant and a judgmental, condescending doctor who made them uncomfortable by suggesting that she might've just "gotten into something." She could not walk and was not capable of such. The poor attitude and implication was clear- as if my family had not cared well enough for our beloved family member - was disgusting and uncalled for.especially during this difficult time.

Not to mention the people laughing and yelling in the hallway right outside the door while my family solemnly said their goodbyes, trying to tune out the unprofessional, inconsiderate behavior. If you have been in business for so long, you should know by now that a little COMPASSION goes a LONG way. You should be ashamed of yourselves for allowing this experience.

Love this vet clinic! Have been coming here for quite some time. I'd really appreciate if they could give a heads up to their clients when there is a price change.

I have five dogs. VMC and its team have always been caring and empathetic. They take great care of our dogs and have always made time for us in an emergency. Love our veterinary team!

Dr. Vaughn was great, she spent a lot of time giving me a very detailed explanation of my dog's condition. I can't say the same for the front desk/reception. Some of the people have bad attitudes. My last time going, they tried to charge me $260 for a $60 medicine. I questioned them twice and they insisted. Right before I left they admitted they made a mistake.

I was at VMC visiting with Dr. Garcia on business. As I was leaving, I overheard a lady saying hello to Dr. Garcia and heard her say, "I 'very been coming here for over 20 years with my pets." I couldn't help to say hello and what a great testimonial of her trusting VCM and the doctors. She said to me, this is our 5th dog here and we came the first time when she was in high school. I felt compelled to share, Dr. Garcia, THANK YOU for taking such great care if our furry family members. Patricia Wertepny

Horrible experience, I have been coming here with all my pets the past 20 years, and not sure what is happening, but the office staff seems very overwhelmed and poorly trained. I was advised by my pet's pharmacist that she needed a heartworm test in order to get a new script, as typical I scheduled and had completed and asked the clinic to please contact the pharmacist and they confirmed they called.

The next day I called pharmacy and no script, the pharmacy contacted the vet to approve the script, no response. The third day once again I had to call pharmacist who still did not hear from the Vet to approve the script, after being on hold with the vet multiple times with Courtney and Kirsten they exclaim they never received anything from the pharmacy even though I had the confirmed order sent to them, and also after they promised me two days ago, they would contact the pharmacist and TOLD ME TO CALL THE PHARMACIST!

All of a sudden, they look at their fax machine as I asked them to, and there is the order. Nothing is more frustrating than dealing with wasted time and efforts, so very stressful. #lookingfornewvet

I took my 3yo puppy here the Sunday before Memorial Day with a broken paw and the service was amazing. They don't let you in so you must call but everything is done in a timely and professional manner. The nurses/techs were very sweet and helpful and the prices here aren't bad compared to other clinics. My puppy will need surgery that they couldn't preform but they did everything they possibly could to keep him comfortable until I can get him there. Highly recommend this clinic!

Bob is amazing. Steven is rude and lacks the basic compassion one would expect from an animal hospital. I would give 5 stars but because I feel bad for anyone who has to deal with Steven I cannot.

DO. NOT. BRING. YOUR. DOG. HERE. I wish I could read my own review before shoveling out over $400 for them last night for them to send my dog home worse than I got him. They told me "this is normal" and "he'll be fine" yet I'm sitting in an emergency clinic who's vets told me that they get cases from mistreated pets from Veterinary Medical Clinic's after-hours clinic all the time.

This place is an absolute scam, and I will be warning everyone I know who cares about their animals to never walk into this place. Please bring your dog anywhere else. The money is no where near worth the terrible service, rudeness of the receptionist, and the fees you'll have to pay to FIX their mistakes.

Best, most caring and understanding people on the planet. They know that your pet means absolutely everything to you and do everything possible to help you maximize your beloved pets health. They even cry with you when it's time. My dog is only alive today because they do whatever it takes within good reason, for yourself, but mostly for your pet.

This place is really great. Been using them for a few years now and they are good about reminding you when you need a visit and keeping in touch with you. Also, they can almost always be reached and are almost always open. Even on the late weekends there is an emergency contact where you can just ask medical basic med questions. Doctors are great here too and they take great care of your pup. Highly recommend.

They did an excellent job of taking care of my cat. My cat developed a few abscesses on his leg, one would heal than another opened, it was quite the battle. They were able to get me in that day or next following day, each time an abscesses opened. The vet bills were reasonable overall. I went there 5 times over a period of about 2 months, with a total bill of all visits to about $1,300. They did a lot of stuff, x-rays, sedation, immunization, drug medication, wound clean up and few other stuff.

I've been taking my cats here for a few years. I have been to many vets and this clinic has by far the kindest, most compassionate and knowledgeable vets I've experienced. My cats are elderly and sadly a few have crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge. All but one went to this vet for that final visit, and the cat that went somewhere else, I regret it every day, because his experience was nowhere near as calm and caring. Dr. Swank, Dr. Authement, and Dr. Mozinga have taken excellent care of my cats - I recommend any of these three doctors highly - and the cost of services has been much more reasonable than any other clinics I've visited.

They always do what is best for your furbaby. Their vet techs are superb and very loving. Everyone here treats your cat as if it were one of their own. My kitties are going on 17 and they run and play like when they were kittens, thanks to these doctors keeping them in good health. I trust these doctors and clinic implicitly. If you take your kitty here - and they also see lots of doggies too - your animal will be well taken care of.

This place is a total scam, bordering on extortion. Their fees for basic lab tests are INSANELY high, and they will force you to come in and get more tests in order to prescribe the medication your pet needs. I spent $800 on lab test a couple months ago for a pet that has hyperthyroidism and needs medication. When I called them today to get a refill for the medication, they said "lab tests are not up to date" and that I had to come in again.

I was JUST THERE. Ive spent over $3k on lab tests over the years for a simple medical issue, because they refuse to prescribe the needed medication without forcing me to come in and pay for unnecessary monthly lab tests, at a cost of $200-500, even though medication and dose has been stable and consistent for nearly 5 years now. I will never go here again. These people care about nothing other than how much money they can get from you.

My dog Lacey loves coming! Well, as much as a dog really wants to go to the vet. The important thing here is the whole staff makes her feel comfortable and loved. The staff are all super friendly and Dr. Parker is amazing! You can tell she really LOVES animals!

This was our first time here. Highly recommend this clinic if you are in need of an after hours vet. Caring professional and attentive staff. They talked me through things in detail on the phone and checked on my dog continually while we were in the waiting room for a bee sting. Thank you.

We moved to Tampa in April and brought our 2 cats to the Cat Doctors. Iggy was in distress yesterday, called ahead and brought him there only to leave because no one could see him. My husband and I were in the car with a cat in distress and was lucky to have found the Veterinary Medical Clinic. Todd came out to to assess and brought him to the back to stabilize him. Dr Suarez was amazing, she listened to us and talked to us about her plan to stabilized Iggy.

She sent him to a Cardiologist to confirm or rule out heart vs. Asthma. This team is compassionate and truly professional. Thank you Dr Suarez, Todd and Alison for the care you provided to my Iggy. Found my veterinary care.

Update: I will say that VMC did a good job following up AFTER my posted review, and did address my concerns and actually issued me a credit for some services, and they have been good about following up on Bella's condition. They also reached out directly to the pet opthalmologist and got me an appointment sooner than I could have gotten on my own.

So I do appreciate their responsiveness and attempts to make things better. However, I still think their prices are way too high, and I wonder why (despite prior complaints in person) it took me posting a negative Yelp review to get them to address my concerns.

16 year old always at my side cat, Papillon, got sick for the first time ever. Took him in, they gave a quote of $700 for a bunch of tests. 10 minutes came back and showed me an x-ray - advanced cancer. Cancelled all other tests. Cost $150. 2 weeks later went to put him down. I couldn't bear it so my sis took him in and said they were great, spent time petting him, gave legit sympathy hugs to my sis and more. They're the best.

Dr. Parker, techs, and front desk are all amazing at their job. Will request Dr Parker each time. friendly, very thorough with exams (even quick follow up exams) and explains everything. A little more expensive than other vets in area, but it's worth it for after hours care 7 days a week and same friendly staff each time. Great for my timid coonhound puppy.

Worst vet I've ever taken my dog to. I brought my 12 year old dog in because there was blood in his stool. The vet and technician proceeded to complain about my dogs whining (he's nervous at vets) and then recommend multiple types of medication and expensive surgeries that had nothing to do with his digestive system. Since then his stomach has gotten worse and I have to find a completely new vet for him. The only nice, non-condescending person in this clinic was the receptionist.

Dr. Timothy Jones & Vet Tech Tiffany are THE BEST! We had a late night emergency visit and they took care of our cat. I must also explain that our cat freaks-out and has always been sedated by other doctors. They handled him so skillfully, that he didn't all those extra measures. THANK YOU!

I am beyond thankful for the friendly and attentive after-hours team at VMC. We hadn't found a vet in the area yet, so when my dog started exhibiting some pretty alarming gastrointestinal symptoms, I was incredibly nervous about going somewhere new, unannounced. We walked into VMC without an appointment, and were very quickly seen by a vet tech who was SO great with both the nervous dog and dog-mom;) On-site lab tests were far more reasonable than I had braced myself for (I believe the consult was $89 and the labs were $49, which included the urgent care surcharge - the main services are cheaper during their regular business hours.) And, without even having to ask, I was offered both name-brand and generic meds, with no judgment at all from the staff about wanting to keep the cost of the visit as reasonable as possible while still getting the necessary care for my pup.

The vet who went over the lab results and treatment options with me took his time to explain what the issue was, what might have caused it, and what to watch for in the future. While we were there, he also gave me some tips for the flea allergy my dog seemed to develop out of nowhere in the last few months. Even the front office team was friendly and helpful in every way they could be.

Wow - what a great staff. After a horrible visit to a completely different after-hours clinic, I came here at the recommendation of our normal vet. The veterinarian on duty that day (since I came during After Hours Urgent Pet Care) was straightforward and reassuring. She didn't push for unnecessary or excessive care but instead stated the minimum that would be required and what would be considered "overkill." Throughout the entire visit, I was given total peace of mind that I was in the right place.

The rest of the vet technicians and reception were awesome. I was doubly impressed that two techs came out at different times as I was checking out to give extra clear guidance on how to help my pet the next few days. Their earnest care totally won me over. You can tell that every staff member there is passionate about their job. I absolutely recommend them as an After Hours clinic for emergency care!

Over the last few years my girlfriend and I have been bringing her Yorkie O'Brien here for some allergy related care. Everyone at this office, for the most part, is very nice and caring. The reason I'm leaving this review is because O'Brien was truly suffering from these allergies. She would scratch for hours straight, her skin was inflamed/oily, her hair was falling out from the constant scratching, and she smelled AWFUL.

The doctors here would prescribe washing her with selson blue or head & shoulders and an oral medication that required a new prescription every 3 months. So after 8 or more trips to this vet at just under $200 a visit, we had put almost $2000 into helping O'Brien's allergy problem with close to no results. After a recommendation from a friend, we went to a different vet who seemed to actually care about O'Brien.

He was shocked that our current vet hadn't recommended the monthly shot he was suggesting. After this $22 shot and a $8 bottle of specialty shampoo, O'Brien is like a new dog. Her hair has grown back, she rarely scratches and she is more happy than I have ever seen her. Moral of the story, this veterinary clinic was more concerned with the residual income being generated by their ineffective advice than the quality of life of our pet.

It is sad that this is the case, but we will never bring a pet of ours back to this clinic. Find a vet who cares more about your animal than the income being generated by them. We're heading back to our new vet today, with a happy and healthy O'Brien and wish we could have found this option sooner. For our wallet's sake as well as O'Brien's.
