I haven't taken my cat here yet but they were able to accommodate a prescription food refill when my regular place was out of stock and I was running very low on food. It's so important to have a helpful resource like this as a backup! Appreciate you!

I've brought two of my three cats to The Cat Doctor. My first experience with them wasn't the greatest. They gave my cat vaccines that he didn't need and also without my consent. (They have you fill out paperwork asking if you would like to be notified before treatments. Which they didn't, they just gave him the shots then told me after.) I was kind of mortified. Thankfully he was totally fine.

He was a new patient and they hadn't had all the paperwork, but I think it was a bit hazardous for them to assume this cat would be totally fine. (What if he was allergic, went into shock, etc idk!) My other cat had some teeth removed. It went perfectly fine. He was able to come home with me that day even. No complaints there! He healed very nicely and he hasn't had any problems. I've had friends who have been estimated thousands of dollars to have their cats teeth removed, so I was very happy with it being reasonably priced.

What a gem of a place! Purely dedicated to the well being of cats. I brought my flame point rag-doll there for a full grooming and he was seen and groomed BEAUTIFULLY for the first time. Don't be fooled at his lack of fur! He feels velvety soft! He smells so good. The best part we get a little break from all of his previous mass shedding. Lol. They took such good care of him and made sure he was safe and happy. They definitely have a new regular customer. We cannot wait to bring our other cat there too! Thanks ladies for being so awesome!

I used to really really like this vet, I still do but I had a bit one bad experience. Year 2018 when I got my kitten and we decided to make this vet her permanent vet clinic because everyone is nice, the place is super nice and the vet doctors are super duper nice. Fast forward, year 2020, covid hits and rules to be followed, which I'm ok with it.

It was annual exam with my kitten and I had one concern regarding her breathing and panthing a lot, they said it was just hairball stuff. Few days later, I had no choice but to go to emergency vet clinic nearby and found out my kitty have full fluid in her lungs and it crushed my heart coz I knew something gonna be bad going to happen. The emergency vet recommended us to a cat specialist and inform my kitty's vet doctor, we did that but after two days passed my kitty took her last breath in front of me.

I was devastated. How can they didnt noticed it during the annual exam. It took me about a year to recover and made this review. I'm still at pain for losing such awesome, wonderful kitty. My husband was devastated that he doesnt want another kitty and he doesn't want to go back to this vet coz they didnt do their job properly. They did sent us comforting card I still like this vet hoping that they will really do what's necessary if a fur parent have concerns on their fur baby. Once we're gonna have a new kittens (feels like I'm ready to have one) I'm still considering this vet as a trusted clinic for my future kittens.

Nice "cat people". They love cats! Office is conveniently located. The office staff are friendly, patient, calm. Very accommodating. The medical staff are kind and patient. They take the time to explain. They are timely but not rushed. Fairly priced. Available. They have recommendations but do not sell. My kitty girl, Brewster, loves them. I feel She is safe in their care. They are confident, so I feel confident.

This is the worst vet I've ever had the misfortune of taking my cats to! They did an unnecessary surgical operation on my cat when all he actually needed was an anti-nausea med. They were about to send him home; they called me to come pick him up and take him home. 5 minutes later they called me again and said that they just did another (unauthorized) x-ray on my cat and though they saw nothing of concern on it at all and his condition hadn't changed since saying he could come home, they insisted that he was "going to die" if I didn't consent to puting him through surgery right away. they said that I needed to somehow find the money (over $1500) before they could "save his life" with the surgery and that I needed to act fast becausethey didn't have a lot of time.

They said there wasn't time enough for me to take him to his primary vet for a second opinion and that I really needed to work on finding the money "immediately" by borrowing it or putting it on credit if necessary, but that he would die if I didn't get it for them now, before "surgery". Long story short. Turns out, there was NOTHING that required surgical intervention at ALL.

And all he had needed all along was a little anti nausea meds and some extra fiber in his diet. This whole situation was very very traumatic for my cat (and for me, since I was recovering myself from a serious illness, major surgery, and hospital stays). I think the surgeon saw an easy mark for lots of quick money: someone without hair who must have looked like someone who was "too weak to fight back".

They took advantage of me and my money, assaulted my cat with unauthorized procedures and with a surgery that they knew very well wasn't needed at all, and proper due diligence for ruling out simpler issues with less drastic measures was never taken, apparently because that wouldn'thave been as lucrative for them. My cat has had so many issues since that day, both emotionally and physically, because of the surgery.

He was never quite the same cat after staying with them. He didn't have panic attacks about the vet till after his stay (and ultimately un-needed surgery) with them. Afterwards, and for years now, they still refuse at ALL cost to release his veterinary records to me! Which is very much illegal according to the state veterinary board. They (after a fight for about 3 years) finally released a partial record to his primary vet (who we went back to and stayed with after this!) but there definitely appeared to be some major gaps in the record that was sent.

They still refuse to release any part of the record directly to me. And no full/complete record of the incident and full situation surrounding the surgery was ever released to anyone. To this day they refuse to release the full records! Either they failed to document properly, or they destroyed/"lost" that part if the record (one receptionist hinted to that being the case at one point), or they do have the full record but are denying it.

They know they did so very very wrong! And apparently it was all just for the sake of taking money from me (that I didn't really have during my own serious illness, and after recent major surgeries, and hospitalizations.) They knew if they gave me the records (which is my legal right to have) that I could take action about the situation and said as much to me. (They said that it was "company policy" not to release records to patients now because they used to so but that "something happened once" and the owners made that policy not to release records to patients after that.)

These guys are so attentive to my little Zoey, always happy to explain anything I have a question on, and it's very obvious they love the fur babies they care for. I will never take a cat anywhere else.

Fantastic place with excellent veterinarians. My cat has terrible issues with being too attached to me and she always reacts extremely negatively to anyone else besides me. The veterinarian assigned to her called us up about 5 mins after meeting her and asked about using a gas treatment to calm her down. We agreed to it as it seemed much safer than an overdose off ketamine(which almost happened at a different veterinarian) This place was able to clip her nails, check her tracker tags, and give her the shots she required.

It was a bit more pricey than what I am used to paying but after receiving her back a half hour later, she was alert, looking for attention, and seemed comfortable, which is worth it to me. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone who has a bit of a difficult cat, it's definitely worth the money.

Dr. Wright is an amazing human being and cat doctor. He is thorough, knowledgeable, kind, gentile, and treats my cat like there is nothing more important than that very encounter. He explains, very well, what his findings are and what can or may be expected in the future. My kitty is very senior in years and his care has been very personalized for him.

I am very sad to have lost all of this wonderful care. At my last visit, I finally explained to a young woman at the front desk that it did not feel very good and seemed quite rude that when I would say hello, I would be ignored. Also, not acknowledged in any manner, as I would be standing there, waiting as she would finish her personal conversation; only then for her to the sit at he computer screen and start asking me questions from the form.

Never welcomed, greeted, just feeling like an inconvenience. I have since been told by office staff on two occasions (one voicemail and one phone conversation) that I was wrong on all counts. Very wrong for saying anything of the sort to this person directly. Wrong about my experience. Wrong as this has never happened and wrong that it would ever happen. I spoke up on the third time, three different visits, that this happened in my perspective. I did so hoping that it would be useful information, but I was wrong.

I was very disappointed with my visit. I adopted a 10-month old kitten and brought him in for a check up and a final round of shots. They asked me zero questions about him and provided me with no information. Luckily I'm the type of person who researches a lot and as a child we had a cat but had I been a new cat owner or didn't do my research they would have provided me with absolutely no information.

All vets I've been to in the past ask questions about their diet, habits, and general questions to get to know them and keep on file to track any changes. There was absolutely nothing like that at my visit. I was also in the process of transitioning my kitten to a raw diet and asked the vet about it and if I was feeding him an appropriate amount and got a brush off answer akin to "yeah, people do raw diets." This vet was also the only person (foster, adoption center, pet store employees, laymen, etc.) who said my kitten would most likely be a short haired cat.

This very obviously wasn't going to be the case and I now know he's a Ragdoll mix and is closer to long-hair (most thought he'd only be medium-haired). I was just so very disappointed with the lack of interest, attention, and time that was given during our visit. She seemed to want to get in and get out as quickly as she could, even though I made it clear when making the appointment that this was a new patient appointment to establish a regular vet. I definitely won't return here and will be looking for a different regular vet for my cat.

I moved to Portland from the Midwest 2 years ago, and was amazed to find a feline only vet in the area! Everyone who works here is great, including the vets and their assistants. It is such a great feeling to able to take my cats somewhere where they won't be scared by dogs or other animals in the waiting room. I unfortunately had to put one of my babies down in 2017 at an emergency vet, and the cat doctor sent me a beautiful card in remembrance and it meant so much to me! 5/5 would absolutely recommend!

They are fantastic, my cat and I have worked with more than one vet here and everyone we have worked with are fabulous in their own ways. I appreciate this is cats only because it does reduce stress levels during vet visits. They really care about cats and I do feel they always try to make the right choice for their feline patients. I get great information and thoughtful answers from the vets.

I trusted them in the past when my cat was not feeling 100% and so far they have always pulled through for me. I will continue to trust them and am so grateful to be living near this great office. I once received an apology from them because they delayed/postponed an annual scheduled visit at the last minute. I did not mind at all. They postponed my non-emergency visit for someone else's cat who needed needed immediate attention.

I applaud this decision because it is wise and 110% in the best interest of their patients. It makes me feel safer because I know if my cat ever has a real emergency, they would take the same courtesy for my baby and he will be taken care of and in good hands. Highly recommend!

We love the Cat Doctor. When my cat got sick again they got her right in. They helped calm me down through the stress and provided me a great way to keep her healthy. They are very reasonably priced and it was totally worth it to know my fur baby was ok. They even called to see how she was doing after the visit. I will continue to only go to the Cat Doctor where I feel they really love cats. I feel so lucky to have such a great place available to us. Thank you Cat Doctor!

The cat doctor was very impressive. His lack of opposable thumbs were more than made up for by his cute furry face. I went in with slight back pain and Snowflake (the doctor i saw) was wonderful. Although he was hiding under the table for the first half of my visit, and then, napping for the second. I left feeling happy and satisfied (although my back remained in pain). I would surely visit the cat doctor again!

Dr. Wright shows compassion for all. He takes the time to explain what to look for and when to make an appointment. The end of life care was amazing and understanding. Ziggy was in great hands and is now watching over us all. Thank you Dr. Wright and the Cat Doctor for your expertise and compassion.

They are so wonderful. Gracie hates coming but the staff is great. The doc takes the time to talk with you about your cat. They make you feel good when you feel bad about your cat. They are so accommodating to your schedule and follow up to email and phone calls. Thank you

This vet is great. I was able to make my appointment online, which is a huge plus. They even sent a text message reminder about my appointment the day before. The office is clean and the receptionists were super friendly. Dr. Wright was great with my cat during the appointment and took his time to examine her. The office even sent a follow-up email the next day to see how my cat was doing after her vaccinations. I really appreciated that! Also, they have complimentary coffee in the waiting room :

Everyone is so great there. My cat was feeling better and eating 20 mins after we got home. He was a hurting unit when he went in. Tip top the next day. Thanks so much!

I LOVE THIS PLACE! My kitty is my heart and brining her to the vet can seriously freak me out just as much as her. I actually passed out cold in the cat doctors office when Shadow was being treated for a very minor injury and they helped me up and gave me some water. Apparently a lot of people pass out when they think their pet is hurting. Anyway- they do great work and are very prompt in getting you estimates and whatnot. I would highly recommend the cat doctor. I would take Shadow anywhere else.

Dr. Britton was condescending and unprofessional when I brought Missy in, back in March. We were not properly informed about follow up appointments and/or life-long medication/vitamin supplements that may have needed to be administered to Missy to extend her life and health. We finished the supplement we were given and because we stopped giving it to her (due to negligence of all staff members) she has fallen ill again.

This was brought to the attention of the "financial director" and she acted as if she could care less and completely defended the Dr. even though she was not present during the appointment. Though the "financial director" refunded a very minuscule amount, she stated that I was the one that made the mistake and wasn't welcome at the facility anymore.

Because they made a mistake that could end the life of our Missy, instead of being compassionate about it all and fixing the problem. THE PROBLEM Dr. Britton created, we were told because "you don't have faith in our caring for Missy, here is her medical history and here is the door". I have already been in contact with the Maine Board of Veterinary Medicine.

This is the fourth vet clinic that I have taken my cats to in less than 2 years. I think I have met with every vet at the Cat Doctor's clinic and they were all very professional and very good at listening to my concerns. One of the previous clinics botched up a surgery and this clinic helped to fix it. You could tell that they really care about their patients. The office staff are also really helpful and patient. I highly recommend this clinic.

I still bring my 3 cats here even though I moved to OOB. Cute and clean place, very caring vets. I had to euthanize my cat of 20 years and Dr. Wright was incredible to us during our very difficult time.
