Call
Chicago Canine Academy Director Jim Morgan with the Chicago Canine Academy works with his dog trainers to help people learn how to properly control their dog, allow them to run free without a leash and return on call, and curb aggressive behaviors. We have the experience to train your dog for you, and we don't use a cookie-cutter method. We understand each pet has its own unique personality and our services are geared to providing you with the knowledge of how to handle your pet. This is why we provide a variety of services, from dog boot camp to dog training classes in Chicago.
Services
No matter if its a Miniature Pinscher, a Great Dane or something in between, we want your dog to be a marvelous canine athlete that can run full out to get a well rounded exercise. A lot of the problems we see day to day come from a dogs frustration with not getting the physical activity that nature intends for them.
As a dog owner, it's tempting to shy away from rigid training for your dog. You may wonder whether or not obedience training in Chicago is worth it, but our team at Chicago Canine Academy takes pride in helping to transform your dog for the better! Our training services are approached with the mindset that dogs love structure, but we encourage them with love every step of the way as well. Through positive reinforcement, our team will help your dog learn basic commands, loose leash walking, and overall manners.
As dog owners ourselves, our company understands just how important it is to find top-quality care and a reliable team. We also understand that no matter how much we love our dogs, we can't be with them 24/7. Or maybe you recently got a puppy and you feel guilty for leaving them alone while you go to work.
When you go out of town, it is difficult to truly enjoy your time if you are worried about your dog the entire time. Rather than having a dog sitter drop in and out of your house on occasion, why not opt for a boarding service that ensures your dog is monitored at all times? At Chicago Canine Academy, our team is ready and willing to help make sure your dog is entertained, well-fed, exercised and completely taken care of. When your dog is boarding with us, our team of professional trainers will keep an eye on your dog and make sure that they are having a good time!

Years ago i adopted an (at first unknown to me) aggressive german shepherd and was almost ready to give him back to the rescue because he was so hard to handle and i was afraid he would hurt someone and have to be euthanized. After going here and he was like a different dog after the first lesson. They also gave me the tools to work with him on my own and he became the best dog I have ever owned. He was just a pleasure to live with after going here and I believe they saved his life as well.

This review is specifically for the training department at Wag. We've been working with Cameron for almost a year now seeing him once a week for our dog. Our dog is great with people but somehow she gets feisty with other dogs. We explained our problems and the numerous training techniques we've tried in the past to Cameron. He went to understand the root of the issue.

Jim and his staff are a lifesaver. We had a very friendly and attentive experience over the holidays and I could tell from boarding at other facilities in the past that my dog was well looked after here.

I can't believe this place has been STILL standing since I was a kid now I know why I always got a bad feeling about this place. Apparently your dog WILL get abused here and they will declined to explain how or why. Do not leave your dogs here if you love them. When you drop off your dog to someone you do it thinking they will be safe, protected and nurtured not abused.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability, Responsiveness, Value Do some research before you leave your dogs with this facility. They have been on the news and are now being sued for beating animals left in their care. It says an awful lot when someone is willing to pay a vet bill, but WON'T reveal how the animal got injured in the first place.

12 years ago my parents brought their first Jack Russell puppy here and had met with Jim Morgan. Jim did an amazing job at not only training their new puppy, but also teaching and training my parents. They had such a great experience, that when my husband and I adopted our puppy we could only decide to come to Chicago Canine. Bella was a six month old terrier/heelee mix who had no bite inhibition, no puppy manners, and absolutely no training. Chicago Canine in the matter of 2 weeks with their boot camp made her a proper puppy.

The hard part was training and teaching my husband and I. Jim and Diane gave us all the tools and resources to make a happy, healthy and safe environment for our rambunctious pup. Every time I go I get direct responses, blunt advice, and all the support I need to maintain her training and tackle new challenges as she continues to grow and learn. Chicago Canine has done wonders for my family, and I cannot express my gratitude enough.

I cant thank Jim and Algus enough for opening my eyes about interpersonal dog relationships. Our 1.5 year old Rottie rescue Odin certainly has his challenges. Research your breed! :) He is my 4th but my first older rescue. We had him for 2 months and realized his behavior was starting to shift from playful to protective and borderline aggression. He is a smart sweet boy -but at 120lbs (now 110lb) could be dangerous for me to walk.

I was getting frustrated and thanks to Jim we found a starting point. Algus and Odin bonded instantly and they had their moments. (sorry Algus) - but having someone tell you they love your dog and want them for themselves - even when Odin was a jerk at times.is a testament to the trainer and breed. I know Rottweillers need to work and pushed outside your and their comfort zone to excel -especially if they have been abandonded to fend for themselves and never told no. Jim is awesome. always candid about what is going on and what to expect.even though Odin has his challenges we KNOW with Jim and Algus laying down the fundementals. Odin WILL be a success story.

I highly recommend Chicago Canine.but if your are a snowflake and dont understand dogs are DOGS.not people (My mistake) its not for you.but if you are ready to learn and do the work -- they will help you and your pupster flourish!

The best place in the world to send your dog to training bootcamp. It is worth every single penny! My fiance and I sent our crazy yellow lab puppy there for two weeks. He came home a different dog. Jim and his staff are beyond talented and knowledgeable. My fiance and his family have been using Jim's training for over 20 years. You will not regret sending your dog here. Thank you Jim!

Thank you Jim Morgan for your excellent advice and suggestions for helping Sophie be a much more calm pup! She's not on guard like she used to be and is a pleasure to walk and take into stores. And I pretty sure my neighbors don't miss the barking! And did I mention the vacuum. NIGHT and DAY difference! I'm going to have the cleanest floors around :

My dog was out of control! I reached out to other trainers before finally coming here, this place changed and literally saved my dogs life. These ARE "dog lovers" they work with your dog, to get the results that are appropriate from your dog. They don't settle, they make sure your dog is 100% and you get what you paid for. Jim is amazing, passionate, and dedicated to all dogs! all other trainers took my money and wasted my time only to tell me my dog had to be put to sleep(5 other trainers before I finally came here) This was a puppy I myself socialized in the park every single day from pretty much the day he could walk!

I was at a loss and I wasn't going to give up! Some working dogs have more of a WORKING instinct, my dog can care less for treats and what other trainers tried to get him to do. Without a stern attitude and a small correction my dog would have never stopped trying to bite ppls faces off. Im not talking a pit or a retriever, my dog weighs almost twice as much as me! 190 lbs of mastiff and muscle!

Just depends on your dogs, what's amazing training for one dog isn't necessarily the same for another. I have another dog of the same breed who can't take even my voice being raised in the slightest, yet alone a correction. Two totally different dogs and they require COMPLETELY different approaches.
