Services
We ask for 2 sets of keys. There may an instance where your regular walker isn't available for a weekend, last minute evening visit, emergency, etc. This 2nd key give us quick access to get there quickly. To hire our service, a meet and greet is scheduled. This allows you the opportunity to see the dynamic between the walker and your dog.
A. The meet and greet is a visit in your home that allows you to get to know your walker, our management and our service, while observing the dynamic between the walker and your dog. During this visit, the owner and/or general manager will perform the following tasks: introduce themselves and your walker to you and your pet, pick up keys, confirm pertinent information about you and your pet e.g. We pride ourselves in guaranteeing that your dog(s) will receive the best quality individualized attention for a FULL 25 minute session.
Chicago Dog Walkers maintains strong relationships with shelters, animal rescue foundations and community organizations throughout Chicago. A referral for Chicago Dog Walkers means a $100 donation to an animal-related charity or shelter in the city. We even offer a discount rate for rescued dogs! Contact us to learn more about our community involvement including activities, events and opportunities in your neighborhood.
At Chicago Dog Walkers, our goal is to establish a consistent, long-lasting and healthy relationship between our dog walkers and your pets. That's why we request a minimum of 3 walks per week, Monday through Friday, when you sign up for service. All of our canine clients receive personal, one-on-one attention, with 25-minute walks that cater to their individual needs, whether they prefer distance walks or an opportunity to sniff around and explore. And we'll provide a daily report card so that you're always aware of how your dog is doing while you're away.

CDW has been great. They have been extremely flexible and accommodating, and my walker, Michael, is so good with my dog. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend Chicago Dog Walkers! Everyone is friendly and helpful. They make sure your dog is happy with the dog walker. I liked that Marc (the owner) has a meet & greet with you, your dog, Marc, and the dog walker. Denise is very nice and helpful, too. It's easy to cancel the walk when needed. You'll get a brief report on your dog's 'business' during the walk. Chicago Dog Walkers is fantastic!

I cannot say enough about this group of people and really any of the walkers we've had over the years. The customer service is simply outstanding. I travel for my work in two chunks a year, and the latest time they bailed me out was when I realized I had forgotten to schedule the first week. With very little lead time, Denise got that week covered. Marc, the owner, even covered one day.

They love dogs but they also get humans. They are very responsive in terms of communicating, their rates are more than fair, and I trust their vetting. I highly recommend them.

I have been a dog trainer in Chicago for the past 16 years and Marc and Chicago Dog Walkers have always been my go-to recommendation for dog walking services in Chicago. Marc is truly professional and cares about the well-being of dogs, and trains his staff and treats his clients accordingly. There are a lot of dog walkers, but not all have the business sense and professionalism that Marc and his team has.

I LOVE Krista & Chicago Dog Walkers - wouldn't choose anybody else. My quirky dog Oscar is a rescue and was pretty afraid of new people. When I tried to use a different walking service he hid under my bed when somebody new came into the house! I was really worried I wouldn't find a good fit. Until Marc and Krista came along! They were super friendly and helpful, recommending that I crate Oscar with his leash on at the beginning so that he couldn't run away and hide.

Thanks to their recommendations (and peanut butter bribes, which I wholeheartedly encouraged) not only can I keep Oscar out of the crate again but whenever Krista walks in he immediately flips onto his back waiting for belly rubs! I brought my dog home over the holidays and my family/friends couldn't help but exclaim how "normal" Oscar became - Krista really brought him out of his shell and made him a ton braver with new people. Krista even made sure there was a backup for her when she had jury duty - she provided me the contact information well in advance and everything went great. THANK YOU KRISTA and Chicago Dog Walkers!

Highly trusted. Mark the owner asked to come to my home to introduce himself when we got started. Santiago has been walking our dog and house sitting for the last 5 years. They are a great company to work with in every way.

Our family, including our silky terrier Theo, loves Chicago Dog Walkers. The dog walkers, first Beth and then Melissa, seemed to love our weird, quirky emotionally unavailable dog Theo. The were dependable, kind, caring, and prompt. Thank you Melissa, Beth, and CDW team. Can we convince you to make house calls at our new home in Tennessee?

Love this service! I used WAG for a while before switching to Chicago Dog Walkers. I am so pleased that I did. Marc was very friendly and helpful. He even offered advice on my newly adopted puppy. Megan who walks Luna during the week was so accommodating with my schedule. Billing was very easy and painless. They also offer a variety of services if you need to be out of town for a few days. Thank you Chicago Dog Walkers.

Chicago Dog Walkers is an amazing dog service. Marc, Denise and my dog walker Kristy have helped me so much since I adopted my dog son Calvin in February. I called about 5-10 different places and Marc was the only person to follow through with calls and emails back. Denise and Kristy conducted my house visit and meet and greet with Calvin within a few days.

We were all set and ready to go very quickly. Also, Calvin was sick a few weeks ago and Marc and Kristy were extremely helpful with getting him to the vet ER - if they wouldn't have come over who knows what could have happened? I text Kristy all the time (literally multiple times a day because I'm a crazy dog mom) and she is so responsive and always answers quickly.

Even though she leaves notes after the walk, she'll text me in real-time anyway. Calvin loves her, she is his best friend and the only adult I trust alone with him besides myself. I never feel guilty about working late or being busy with other activities because I know Kristy will be super flexible with her schedule if I need her to be during the week.

Even the biller is nice, she always sends accurate invoices and emails me a couple of weeks ahead of time to verify the amount and payment dates. All of them are seriously the best! Affordable and reasonable prices too, especially compared to some of the other Chicago-area dog walking companies.

This review is long overdue. We've had two walkers from Chicago Dog Walkers during the past year. Our current walker, Sam, is FANTASTIC. She writes the sweetest notes--I seriously come home every day looking forward to reading her note--and it means so much to us to have the pup cared for by someone who clearly cares so much. And I'm pretty sure that she checks the apartment every day to see if the dog has destroyed something from the recycling bin and cleans it up.

She is the absolute best. We had another walker who was fine, but we did have an issue once where I was working from home one day and found that he hadn't taken the dog out for the full 20 minutes. When I called the company they were totally reasonable and conciliatory, and they ended up giving us a month of free walks. I am sure it was an issue of the dog being much calmer because I had been home all day, so the usual route just took less time to get through.

But anyway, my advice to anyone in a similar situation would be to call Mark or Denise and explain what happened, because they were quite generous and kind about it. They have reduced rates for dogs from shelters and their walkers are employees, not independent contractors, both of which for me go a long way in showing how dedicated this business is to caring for our friends and not just focusing on the bottom line.

Chicago Dog Walkers is phenomenal. Search no more! I have been in a pinch a couple of times for a walker/sitter and Chicago Dog Walkers came through. Marc, Denise, and company are impassioned for the work they do and the animals they take care of. Flexibility, followup, and problem solving comes second-nature to the entire crew at this great company!

We have used Chicago Dog Walkers for several years now. Although, over that period there has been an issue or two both times Marc the owner and his managers have done a great job quickly finding a workable resolution. Once they proactively approached us about an issue that came to their attention by way of another customer. A second time I went to them with a concern that they quickly resolved the situation. They offer both affordable service and provide great customer service.

We used CDW for a long time, until we found out that our dog walker was not actually walking our dog, but putting him in his car (unsecured), driving him to pick up other dogs, then putting them in the dog park. I could understand if the business had a few rogue walkers - it would be tough to keep tabs on all of them - but it seems to be part of their business model.

I wouldn't have reviewed but I saw the "glowing" reviews and did not feel it was representative. When we confronted the owner (Marc) about this, he called me an a-hole for following his walker and continued to berate me verbally. He literally lost his mind and started threatening me with legal action (?). Even though our agreement explicitly stated that our dog would be walked individually for the agreed time, the owner didn't see any issues with what his walker had done. I strongly, strongly advise that you do not use them, and if you currently use them, make sure they are delivering the service you paid for.

I've been meaning to write a review for a while. Chicago Dog Walkers is a great, reliable, organized business and I recommend using them if you need someone to take care of your pets! They make sure you meet the walker and try their best to address any concerns that crop up regarding schedule, etc. Marc is open to discuss anything and is always cool headed even if you aren't.

I also like how they give you a little Chicago Dog Walkers note pad so you know that someone has been there and it has check boxes for #1, #2, Treats, etc and a place to leave a note. Also note, the prices are reasonable for the service and options they provide. I don't need the service anymore but if I did I would still be using them!

Love these guys! Our walker Arturo was fabulous! I use the past tense b/c we recently terminated service w/ them. They raised their daily prices in May (from $12 to $14 a visit), which is understandable considering the economy, etc. We decided to make the switch to a daycare service at that point, only b/c I felt our border collie pup needed a lot more exercise than ANY of us can give her, lol. But Art was always very diligent, responsive, flexible and caring. He left an informative note for us each day. Bear will miss him!

I have never seen my dog so happy to see someone as he was the day I was home sick and Santiago, our dog walker, came to get him. These people are the real deal- friendly, love dogs, responsible, caring, and very customer service-focused. I've had problems with walking companies in the past, but the entire staff- from the walker to their billing department to the owner, Mark- is extremely knowledgeable, responsive, and genuinely nice.

As an uptight, smothering mother, I breath a sigh of relief everyday knowing that Henry is with people that know about dogs and care, very much, about him. Oh, and that don't eat my food or hang out in my place. Zing!

We can't say enough good things about Marc and his crew of dog walkers. Our two Boston Terriers have been walked by someone from CDW since the first week we brought them home. Marc came over to meet us and the pups before deciding on a walker for us, and then set up a time for us to meet with the walker. Since then, we've transitioned to a new walker (because the first moved on to another job), Arturo, and he is fantastic.

He is consistently on time, the dogs love him, and his notes are informative. We love the paperless billing. We know that we can count on Arturo to handle the dogs' daily walk and we also know that we can call him or Marc if we're stuck at work or if there is some other reason we can't get home in time to take the dogs out in the evening.

We don't doubt for a second that Boris & Natasha are in good, kind, and conscientious hands with Chicago Dog Walkers. We also love that Marc is such a supporter of rescue organizations! Gotta love a great business man with a heart!

We are big fans of these guys. The first walker we had via CDW was fantastic, and our dog loved loved LOVED him. Sadly, he left for a year-long vacation, and we have since gone through two new walkers. They have been fine (and the latest one, we've only had for a couple of weeks, so it's hard to tell). The things we like about CDW are as follows: 1) They only bill you for the days the walker comes.

Previous dog walkers have made us pay each week in advance. With CDW they bill you at the end of the month for all the walks. 2) Auto-pay with a credit card. Very convenient. 3) Ease of change - on days that I stay home sick from work, or we suddenly have a need for a walker, we've always been able to call and quickly modify our needs for the day.

Pretty great. 4) Notepad with walk status - there's a cool little notepad with checkmarks that the walker leaves every day telling you what your dog did. Our previous walkers would leave us notes, but it's nice to have a standard format.
