I love going here! It's where we pick up food for both my leopard gecko and my doggies. They don't really have my cat's food, but their other cat products are pretty good! The staff are super kind and helpful!

Friendly staff. Great selection. I love supporting a local business. Clark's has the grain free cat food my kitty cat needs to stay healthy and the best kitty litter to be found anywhere. Thank you again.

I love coming here especially working with Sam on what works well with my freshwater system. Great trades when I need them. I see my donations sell as well. Satisfied and greatly appreciated on the help. Recently purchased a "leopard" pleco. And adopted "big bertha" (store named) koi betta.

I've been to both of their stores and they're more like a zoo than a pet store. My kids were interested in some snakes, their is signs that say not for sale. We were looking for African cichlids, seems like all the aquariums say not for sale. Ended up going to Petsmart and Petco bought my kids two snakes and spent over $400 in fish. A pet store is a retail business, they need to learn that all things are for sale and if you're not going sell them take them home. I don't go to pet stores to walk and see I go too pet store's to buy.

I am now the proud owner of my first pet. A Guinea Pig named Merlin. And he's just the best. Thank you Clark's for all your help. I'll be going to you for all my future pet needs!

We took our 3 kids there to pick up some supplies. It was supposed to be a fun trip to the pet store, but they had to act afool. Surprisingly, they answered all our questions and acted like our kids weren't bothering them at all. I think we even made a friend in the fish dept. The cashier was super friendly too. You don't get that everywhere

I used to love this store shopped here for 10 years. It was conveniently by my house as well. Sorry to say after today it's my last visit. Staff treated me like I was stupid. My son was so excited to pick out his first Beta. Then Your staff says, Dont buy that tank we should not even sell those 2 gallon tanks. Then tell me betas belong in 5 gallon tank yet are sold in 2 ounces of water?

Then tell me i should not buy the betas today at all. The business owners might want to let their fish employees know that they are there to make sales not inhibit them.my son was crushed his first visit where he gets to pick his very own fish and this is how we were treated. Sad.

Have always preferred Clark's. The staff is friendly, always available to help. They offer mostly high-end brands. The prices have always beaten all the other pet boutiques in the Albuquerque area, however, they recently raised prices by quite a bit, perhaps due to the current economy. They may now be comparable to the bigger chain stores. Unfortunately, Clark's may no longer be my go-to from now for that reason. Will have to do some price comparisons.

Really great place to get stuff for your pet I got my bearded dragon online but this place had a bunch of great stuff for him so overall I love it and it's only in new Mexico I'm pretty sure so go and support it.

Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They helped my 8 year old pick out her gecko and walked us through it's care. Very recommended!

We had an idea of what we were looking for but Sam was very informative of species of freshwater fish. I would highly recommend to speak with Sam if you're unsure what to put in your aquarium tank.

Awesome knowledge of everything reptile and definitely pet. Great customer service as well, they are my go to when I need anything for my animals.

Jorge, the manager at Menaul, has been so helpful in helping my 10 year old son learn and care for his new bearded dragon. He has been patient, kind, and so, so knowledgeable. We will not go anywhere else for our pets. Thanks for making our family bigger Clark's!

My girlfriend and I recently decided to get a pacman frog. We had trouble deciding between a grog and a snake. Dylan was abundantly helpful. He showed us every snake and frog that we wanted to look at. He chatted with us about all of them and told us how each one acts. I have been going to Clark's for years, but finally felt compelled to write a review because of how amazing this experience was for us.

Basic pet store but only for small animals. Basically, nothing with fur. But a reasonable selection of insects, spiders, and snakes. They are, however, still in business. Looks like several major stores have gone out recently. I'm new in town, but I've seen more vacant store fronts and listed-but-closed stores than open ones. Where does one go to buy dogs or cats these days?

They always have good service, and when it comes to the animals they sell and most importantly care for they know their stuff

Mixed feelings about this place. The girls in the bird department at the Lomas location are amazing, I bought a Nanday conure this summer of unknown age and history and they were very helpful and friendly throughout the transaction. He is a healthy and happy bird, and they seem to take good care of their birds and be pretty knowledgeable in general.

The fish are another story. I bought 2 pairs of corydoras catfish on Thursday, August 19th. One pair of baby panda Corys and one pair of juvenile Julii Corys. As soon as I released them into their tank (well established and cycled, several species of corydoras of the same size are living and thriving) I noticed one Panda showed signs of some sort of illness.

The fins appeared shredded and the fish wasn't moving around like it's fellow tankmates. Like I suspected, dead the next morning, as well as one of the julii corys in another tank. (Also established with healthy corys living with no issues). The remaining Julii died the next day, even though it appeared healthy the previous day. As of today, the remaining panda Cory is also dead.

As of Clark's store policy, I am not able to get a refund or store credit/replacement fish because I didn't have the bodies in hand within 72hrs. (3 days) I went to the Menaul location and spoke with an employee there, (presumably their fish expert) and he informed me that their entire shipment of panda Corys and several other Corys arrived with a bacterial infection and have been dying rapidly ever since.

I am disappointed in this policy and at ten dollars a fish (higher price than anywhere in town) I'm hesitant to buy fish from this store again. This was my first experience purchasing fish from Clark's, and I was drawn there from across town in search of new species not offered at stores more local to me. I am decently knowledgeable about the species and took proper precautions when floating, transferring, etc.

Never had a fish die in either tank. I tested the water as well and saw no evidence that the water conditions were at fault. Leading me ultimately to believe that all of the fish were previously ill and therefore I was not at fault for the death of all four out of four fish.

Probably one of the rudest staff I've encountered in awhile. I knew what I needed, which you have to go to the counter to buy. I asked for what I needed but they couldn't hear me and proceeded to make it seem like I didn't know what I was talking about. I even tried to make a joke to lighten the mood and they just stared at me. The cashier with dreadlocks was the most rude. Talking down to customers and treating them like they are dumb isn't the way to do business. Gossiping behind the counter, not focused on work at all. Being a manager myself made it really hard to look past this visit and not share the information.

George helped me find the perfect medium size cat tree for my queen. In no time at all, Nova was zooming all over, on, and around the cat nip treated furniture. I was initially weary of the price, but even the first day of kitty happily playing for hours was priceless. Thank you!

Friendly, knowledgeable staff! Got crickets, buffalo horns, wheat grass and grooming brush for cats, dogs and fat-tail gecko (she only gets crickets)

If I could give 0 stars I would. Trying to support local but when I went to pay with a check was told they don't accept. When I asked where that was posted the female cashier gave attitude and said it used to be posted on the door but wasn't anymore. I.said I was trying to support local but if they wouldn't accept a check I couldn't and I would go somewhere that would. As I was leaving the female cashier said, Dont let the door knob hit you. Rude woman with no posted policy.

We live 3 hours away and drive down to Clark's because of their reptiles. Every time we visit the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. So far have 2 Tarantulas and a Scorpion. Will be back to peruse for more creepy crawlies!

The staff at Clarks is amazing! The owner of this business greeted me personally and helped me find the best treats for my dog. They have birds and bunnies and rodents to play with. I will always go to Clarks for my pet needs in Albuquerque! Thank you Clark's

Not a huge selection even for a small pet store, at least in the fish department, I couldn't find some of the most basic fish supplies and their aquatics plants are very lacking BUT the staff was so nice and helpful, they even called their other location to check for products so the helpful staff get all the stars

It really is sad what happened to Clark's. For years it was the community go to for pets and supplies. Friendly, helpful staff, crazy smart pet specialists and fair pricing on hard to find supplies. Now it's like the the rude, rip-off version of Clark's. I can overlook someone having a bad day, but I gotta agree with other posters about their snarky and apathetic staff.

The buyer for Clark's should be fired immediately or at least according to the female manager I spoke with. I returned a pair of dog nail clippers when I saw I had been overcharged. The manager told me I had not been overcharged.$31.59 was the correct price! When I questioned the 350% markup on the identical item listed on Amazon at $8.95 the manager said it just depends on what we buy it for. Unbelievable!

Your buyer is a complete moron if they are paying 200% retail! Clark's if that pathetic excuse is the best you can offer for shamelessly robbing your community you absolutely deserve to go out of business. There is a huge difference between shopping local and shopping LOCO.

This pet store gets 1 Star from me for a lack of kindness and excitement when I went in to buy a pet for my young child. We felt like we were there to buy health insurance. We left and went to PetLand instead. Much better customer service and happier animals.

Really nice little pet shop. Had all the information and supplies for our baby turtle! Well on the pricey side but such is expected with such a specialized market lol! Now I have to figure out how we are going to not buy the 270$ lizard dragon thing that someone is convinced that we need!.Any suggestions?

Has everything you could need for your pet, but with better quality then the chain stores. The staff is highly knowledgeable and super friendly. My cat was recently sick and the staff seriously saved her life with their expert advice. I love Clark's and will continue to shop here and support this wonderful local business! Last year my dog needed a new harness. With no hesitation the staff pulled out her perfect size and helped me put it on. Thank you again!

Really vast selection of pet care needs. My boyfriend and i went there to get a feeder rat for our Boa. unfortunately they didn't have a wide selection of sizes for us to choose from, but the one we got still did the job. The staff was helpful and could easily be found around the store. I browsed around a bit while the lady got us our rat and noticed the cages for the reptiles were realllllly dirty. I didn't put much thought into it, but it was still pretty gross. Overall, though, it seemed like a decent place to get any pet supplies you need.

Although I voluntarily gave Psi, my ball python, to a classmate last month because he needed a better home, I frequented this place and Petland for Psi's living and feeding needs. As a brand-new snake owner, I had to get a lot of help/advice, and it was hit-or-miss. Sometimes snake-knowledgeable staff was there, and sometimes they all were gone.

Their rats run on the small side too: I ordered several medium-sized rats that looked, well, anorexic. However, I intend to visit Psi in a few months and will probably bring him a "treat" from this place. By the way, he loves his new place and has completely forgotten about me. My classmate already owns several ball pythons, so Psi has a friend and a few girlfriends as well!

I love coming to this Clark's. They are always so friendly and helpful. They have some excellent animals and they always look very taken care of. We buy our dog food from them in order to support local business over Petsmart or Petco. I actually ordered 20 beta fish from here for my wedding, used them as centerpieces at The Shark Reef Cafe at The Aquarium, and gave them out to guests.

The fish were beautiful and our fish is still alive and doing great! I like bringing my son here because he can look at the animals close up. It's almost better than taking him to the zoo! He loves it here. Thank you, Clark's!

It's rare to find a nice, big pet shop anywhere in the country. Most of the nice ones are very small and most of the big ones are pretty crummy. Clark's Is an exception to that rule. I visited this amazing shop last week week and was absolutely blown away by the knowledge and dedication of the workers I spoke to. Not only was the shop clean, well-lit, and well arranged, but they offered a ton of pets and pet supplies.

For example, the fish section was huge, with a big selection of both freshwater and saltwater fish. The saltwater section also had various invertebrates, corals, anemones, etc. Everything looked healthy. One particularly helpful worker was Chris, manager of the reptile department. Chris' military and business experience literally saved the department, which was slated to close down before he intervened and infused new life into this fantastic section of the store.

Most of the time I was here, I felt like I was in a zoo instead of a pet shop. In my experience, that says a lot about a store's integrity. This is clearly the finest pet shop in New Mexico, and perhaps in the entire southwest. I am a fan!
