CABTC focuses on a positive training experience. CABTC has beginning manner classes that offer AKC Puppy STAR and Canine Good Citizen certification. CABTC also offers all levels of obedience competition classes for all types of dogs. We are offering a conformation class on Monday nights starting 01/10/2022 at 8:00pm This will be an ongoing class which will be taught by AKC judge Judy Lowther. Fee for the class is $10.00/handler, payable each week. Please Note: Cleveland All Breed classes will not accept any dog that has been disqualified by the AKC for aggression, or any dog that shows aggression toward humans or other dogs.
DESCRIPTION: What is the next step after CGC? There are two additional tests for the handler team: CGCA and CGCU. CGCA (AKC Community Canine) is an AKC program designed to ensure that you have a well-behaved dog while you are out and about in the community. CGCU (AKC Urban CGC) tests your CGC skills in an active environment where there are cars, loud noises and fast paced distractions.
This class will continue to build on skills obtained in Scent work 2. In addition to those skills, we will present the AKC scent-work elements emphasizing the importance of alerting to source. Anise will be introduced in this class.

Traveled 7 hours to scent work trial and it was totally worth it! One of the nicest facilities I have seen and wonderful, friendly people. I will definitely come back

I enrolled my 4 1/2 month old puppy in the puppy obedience program because it is presented online as a positive reinforcement Program. The first day of class, 2 incidents occurred, one frightening, which proved that this was not the case. A very nervous puppy was barking incessantly. The trainer told the owner to grab the puppy's collar by the back, pull hard, and at the same time push down on the dog's muzzle.

She remarked that he would not be able to bark and choke at the same time. When the dog later acted up again, she "settled" the dog (or tried to) by pushing it to the floor forcefully and rolling it on its side. The dog reacted ferociously, growling, snapping, and baring its teeth. Scary! The trainer was lucky not to have been seriously bitten. Of course, she was at fault, not the dog. I ran these two incidents by a friend who is a certified dog trainer. She was appalled. I will not go back.

We are very grateful for the kind, generous, professional, and talented folks who share their expertise with novice canine adoptive families. The classes have been a spectacular addition to George's learning and development path (and even more so to my own!) Heartfelt thanks to all of the instructors and admin support folks who offer their time and volunteer services to keep CABTC going (esp during these Covid times). This has been, and continues to be, a WONDERFUL opportunity!

The classes are taught well. A lot of thought has been put into the curriculum. The teachers have a long history of training their own dogs and develop deep connections with their dogs. It is a great community of people who love to teach.

Good trainers but not a completely "positive training" technique. It generally is a quality technque, but they use harmful collars to make dogs submissive. I would recommend their classes but use caution.

Decent place however my female dog went into heat and I was told to leave class, I had no prior knowledge of this policy. I did expect a refund for the classes I missed, however their policy is no refund, this is unacceptable to me. Classes are not cheap and why not work with me on this. I've given hundreds of dollars to them over the years and they couldn't refund me 2 classes. Unfortunately I will not be going back, they have lost my business.
