Services
Practicing excellence in animal care, education, and advocacy to connect pets to their people. Every animal has a loving home in a community united by the responsible care of healthy, happy, and thriving pets. We serve Garfield County, the city of Glenwood Springs, and the Roaring Fork Valley. Our shelter operates under the premise that all animals deserve access to medical care, food, shelter, and love.
Colorado Animal Rescue strives to make every adoption a match for life. To assure that the animal you wish to adopt is well suited for you, your home, and lifestyle, and is placed in an environment that is compatible with their needs, we ask that you complete our adoption survey. The adoption surveys are specific to dogs/puppies, and cats/kittens.
We have so many furry friends looking for forever homes! Please stop by our offices today to find your new best friend. And, if it's just not the right time for an addition to your family, consider our volunteer program - we always need your help! Help the animals in our care by donating to the shelter!
Like the easy life? Then I'm the perfect match for you. I'm a relaxed, laid-back kind of dog who enjoys long naps, watching movies, curling up on laps, and walking very short distances from the couch to the food bowl and back. Must have a great sense of humor and some time to spend with me. I'm a dog on a mission to please you.

Everyone is always so helpful and nice. We visit monthly to pet the cats, walk dogs and drop off donations. It's very clean, bright and the animals are treated very well.

What a wonderful experience adopting from them! You can tell they are in it for good reasons and are much more affordable than other rescues.

They were hosting a vaccine clinic from 12 to 3. I showed up at 1, waited in line for 2 hours, was told to go wait in my car another 20 minutes until they call me. Waited 30 minutes and went in to find out what the wait was for and got told they ran out of vaccines. Keep in mind I live in grand junction so not only did I wait for 2.5 hours to be told sorry cant help you, I also had to drive 2 hours round trip. Almost 5 hours totally wasted and 20 bucks worth of gas down the drain.

They donated dog food when we were displaced from a fire. The friendly staff, trimmed our little dogs nails, they are very much appreciated. Lots of wonderful dogs and cats, looking for someone to be their forever home. The shelter is located in a beautifully landscaped, very clean area, in the rolling hills, outside of town.

I've adopted the cutest puppy from them and also have volunteered there. It is a great organization with awesome people and a great cause. I'll continue to volunteer and come visit them again whenever I'm looking for a new furry friend.

This is such a loving beautiful facility. I was impressed immediately by the kindness and care to all of the pets who have been rescued. I adopted a dog from here and the process was smooth and conscientious. Everyone who worked there was lovely and the conditions I saw the dogs being kept in and the care being given to them was heartwarming.

Knowledgeable, caring, supportive. While there on my visit with 50 children I witnessed this. A woman lost her dog and more than likely will never return. The staff was so caring and comforting to this family. A man lost his dog they helped out by giving him all the resources he needed to help recover his dog. Really good folks, professional and very clean facilities.
