We offer training classes in puppy socialization, home & public manners, community canine good citizen, agility, rally, obedience, scent work, tracking, and tricks. You are sure to find something that fits your and your pet's needs. The Springfield, MO Dog Training Club, established in 1970 as an all-volunteer organization, is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing dogs trained and conditioned to behave at home and in public. The classes we offer encourage willingness and enjoyment from the dog while establishing necessary control.
Services
The Springfield Dog Training Club (SMDTC) was established in 1970, and was licensed by the American Kennel Club in 1984. The Club holds AKC licensed Obedience Trials and Agility Trials each year, as well as AKC Tracking Tests, Tracking Dog Excellent Tests, and Rally trials. The aim is to encourage willingness and enjoyment from the dog while establishing necessary control.
Dog clubs hold around 5,000 events each year sponsored by the AKC. If you're interested in earning points for your dog, these types of dog clubs fit your needs. AKC sponsored events are more structured and regulated by rules, but if you want to get into showing, agility, herding or field trials, and you are serious about promoting and improving your dog's performance, this kind of dog club would be a good choice.
If you are new, make sure you have filled out the Membership Application as well. Dues for the current year must accompany the application. If you are renewing, you may do so here. Small class sizes and wonderful instructors. Our lab puppy is much more well behaved after the Star Puppy and Home Manners classes. Looking forward to taking Public Manners soon!

Took my two dogs for dog training. The staff and volunteers were really nice and knew their stuff. They were able to suggest tips and tricks to correct all sorts of dog behavior. I went to get my dog to heel better but we came away with learning a lot more.

I'm so thankful our family found this Club! Everyone has been so nice, helpful and we've learned so much! The classes are perfect size so you get one on one help and work as a group! It is very clean and well maintained! We highly recommend them!

It's probably a good idea to let everyone know, you have to have a title on your dog to teach. This ensures the instructor knows what they are teaching.

Non experience trainers always switching off. Never staying with the same thing. Talk more about themselves about the dogs being trained will not ever recommend this location. Well travel hundreds of miles to stay away from it. Place is a bad place. Bad trainers

Great place for teaching your pup. Fantastic trainers that care a lot about you pet, positive training and they cover everything from simply teaching them to sit and lie down to teach them proper etiquette of entering a building with you not by dragging you through it. I recommend them to anyone looking for a great training experience for themselves and their dog.

Highly experienced instructors and educated staff make dog training here both stress free and productive. They are very pleasant to work with and offer small class sizes so that they can get the chance to work one on one with everyone and their dogs.
