Our methods are based on positive reinforcement without the use of force or pain. We endorse the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior's positions on punishment, dominance and puppy socialization, and support a 'do no harm' policy.Doghaven is owned and operated by Karl and Deborah Knowles. Deborah is certified through Certified Professional Dog Trainers
(CPDT) and a graduate of Companion Animal Science Institute (CASI)
with a diploma in Animal Behavioral Technology.

Obedience training begins from the moment your puppy arrives in your home. From housetraining to competitive obedience training, your dog is never too old or too young to learn. That's why DogHaven offers training for dogs of all ages. We believe it is a necessary part of an enjoyable life for you and your dog.
Agility is one of the fastest and most exciting dog sports in the U.S. today. Agility develops both handler and dog skills through verbal and non-verbal communication as the team moves skillfully through a course of 18-21 obstacles in what looks like a dance. The sport requires the dogs to attain higher levels of training and interaction with their handlers while having fun!

The instructor knows dogs! Plus she is aware of what people want to do with their dig, i.e. civilized companion or competition ready, and customizes instruction accordingly. It's about you and your dog, not what she wants to train. That is a first in my experience. Her puppy class is great for both the first time puppy owner and for experienced owners whose puppies to get proper socialization. Having taken Beginners Agility 1, can't wait to start Agility 2. My dog is having a great time!

I can't think of a better place to train your dog or puppy. I've trained 3 of my puppies with Dog Haven in multiple classes. It is a lot of fun and very positive. all the puppies I saw were very responsive to the type of training that was learned here. I took away so many good pointers to continue the training at home.

I would not recommend this place if you have a Bully. After 1 training session at Reedy Creek Park i was redunded and advised she wouldn't train my dog. Her demeanor was not friendly and she advised me even neutering my dog would not help. i went to another training location and they've been excellent and patient. They actually train instead of giving basic info I can learn from the internet.

I have trained here for the last 6 years and do not regret any of it. Doghaven helped me identify some bad handling issues and fixed them to where I have 2 champions now. Agility is all about fun with your dog and Deb Knowles knows how to rock the field. IF you want to have fun with your dog, this is the place to be. Come out and play with us!
