Because dogs are pack animals, they posses an innate desire to socialize. Daycare provides the exercise and socialization that are critical to your dog's physical and mental well-being. What's more, you'll never feel guilty on those nights when work runs a little later than expected. Dogs at Play was conceived as a place where dogs of every shape, size and breed can come play and exercise in a clean, secure, and highly social environment.

Our new expanded location offers four large, toy-filled rooms and two large secure outdoor areas that provide small and large dogs with hours of entertainment and plenty of room to run around.
Services
My name is Emily Miller and I am the owner of Dogs at Play. This was the first day care center for dogs in Rochester and it opened in the year of 2000. Since that time I have worked with thousands of dogs. I have grown the business from one small building with two indoor and one outdoor area to two buildings with four indoor and two outdoor areas for the dogs.
Dogs at Play has a few basic health requirements to ensure the continued good health of your dog. All dogs must be healthy, flea free, and be current on the following vaccinations rabies, distemper/parvo, and kennel cough. Neutering and Spaying is a must for dogs over 7 months. Puppies are welcome at Dogs at Play once they have reached fourteen weeks old and have their second distemper/parvo shot.
Dogs at Play is pleased to offer a regular schedule of obedience classes for all skill levels as well as seasonal/annual workshops like Tracking, Nosework, Agility, Adventure Dog and more, through Bob Minchella's Dog Owner Counseling. Most classes are held right here at our facility.

I love this place. There's always so many dogs for socializing! The people are so kind and hardworking. They have 2 outdoor yards that the dogs use pretty much all the time. The pricing is the best in Rochester. They also have streaming video of the different rooms not a lot of other daycares offer this. Take your fur baby here for some fun! Your dog will come home TIRED!

Terrific dog daycare! My dog gets so excited as we pull up to the building. They have many spaces outside and inside, and can accommodate different sizes, levels of activity, and the staff is so attentive. I just love taking my dog there. Oh! They also have a live stream of each separate room/space so you can check in! The best!

I brought my rescue to Dogs at Play from the time we got her at 6 months old, until she was 2 years old. My dog loved attending each week, and all of the staff were friendly and communicative about how things went each day, other than the owner, Emily. Emily has an obviously dislike for pitbulls. She would do passive aggressive things like take every other dog into the back before my dog, she wouldn't acknowledge me or look me in the eye when I greeted her, and when she'd take my dog, she'd handle her roughly- much more roughly than any of the other dogs.

Some of the other pet parents would even comment about how weird Emily was towards my dog. During our last week, when entering the facility, I had my dog sit/ lay down and wait to be called. When I saw Emily coming over to bring her back, I said 'Okay' the dog got up to go into the back and then Emily yelled at me and said I needed to make her sit.

I told her "I did, I'm sorry, I thought you were ready." To which Emily said nothing. She is so rude. The only reason we kept bringing our dog is because the benefits of socializing our pup with other dogs, and all of the other wonderful staff outweighed how strange Emily was. My dog had developed a relationship with a few other dogs, and she'd been a client for a year and a half.

On our final day, I came to pick up my dog, finding her in a crate with a bleeding ear- still has scars- and her collar had been destroyed. I was told "This isn't a good fit for your dog." I asked if she had hurt or bitten another dog and they told me "no". I have no idea what happened, no one called me during the day, and obviously my dog was bitten without anyone giving me more information. I was stunned, and left. My takeaway is that the owner is prejudice against pitbulls, she is shady about sharing information, and she's rude to boot.

My dog absolutely loves coming to day care at Dogs at Play. If I wasn't as careful, she would try to jump out the window to get in there sooner. Has been extremely helpful in socializing her as a puppy. The owner and staff that work there are all fantastic as well. They know all the dogs by name and are so great with them. The best part is my dog is completely exhausted and ready to sleep the night away after I pick her up. Definitely recommend to anyone!

My daughter takes her dog here and they love it! He gets his exercise, you can even watch online to see how your dog is interacting with the other dogs. It's a great alternative during the winter when the dog parks are less desirable, worth every penny!

I have been taking my dog here 3 days a week for a little over 3 years and have nothing but good things to say about this place. The staff are fantastic, very friendly and my dog really likes them. In fact as my car rounds the corner to drop him off in the morning my dog can hardly contain his excitement! To me this speaks volumes! I'm extremely picky about my dog and I would never ever take him any place else. The hours are great, the prices very fair. Great place for your dog to spend the day.
