Andy, a professional dog trainer for over 30 years, is recognized as a qualified instructor by the AKC. Andy is also a qualified expert witness in K-9 Law for court cases involving Narcotics, Explosives and all other K-9 related cases. All instructors employed by Dogs by Andy K-9 Services have been personally trained by Andy and practice Andy's proven successful methods and dedication to dog obedience.

A: We have three, six, and ten week-long courses, depending on the dog and the level of training desired. A: The apprenticeship program is geared to the handler/trainer who recognizes the best way to improve their dog handling/training skills is to learn from accomplished, professional trainers who are capable of consistently and reliably reproducing successful results.

ANDY NEEDS TO TAKE CLASSES ON CUSTOMER SERVICE: Let me just be honest here. everyone in the mooresville facility is super nice and welcoming EXCEPT ANDY. He has the most nasty attitude. He is so arrogant with the way he speaks. He talked to us like we were stupid. We thought to look past that because our bully really needed training and plus he was getting trained at the Greensboro location with another trainer.
No problem with the trainer himself. Unfortunately when we picked up 1 month later I noticed my dogs tooth had Broken off. Luckily he had gotten his teeth cleaned a week before getting sent off. We initially went to the vet the day after we picked him up because he was coughing a lot. Found out he had kennel cough. (The mooresville facility also said there was an outbreak at there location) The vet had an x ray of his teeth and all his teeth were there! the vet also said the tooth needed to be extracted (whatever was left of the tooth) because it was turning his gums black.
So we called back to let our trainer know he said we had to speak to Andy. We couldn't get in contact with Andy for 2 days. When he finally decided to call back with the worst attitude he decided to let us know "I am not paying for a tooth extraction" he kept saying it wasn't his fault how could he have known blah blah. What we were trying to call and talk to him about is if there is anything they could take care of since this happened under his care.
He said "it's not my fault his tooth broke off, things happen" if we would've been made aware sooner then it wouldn't have gotten as bad as it is now. Andy sucks! He needs a attitude check! Also needs a major REFRESHER COURSE ON CUSTOMER SERVICE. LEARN HOW TO TREAT THE PEOPLE THAT ARE SPENDING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS AT YOUR LOCATIONS.

Well I can not say enough good things about these people at Dogs by Andy K-9 Services! They are friendly to us as pet owners, and they are awesome with our dog, Lieutenant Dansby. We are only 2 weeks into training with Dansby, but I am already amazed at his progress. I will update when we are done with training, but I can honestly say now that these people are amazing dog trainers.

I'm originally from the Charlotte area and relocated to Northern Virginia, but when it came time to find a trainer for my German Shepherd puppy, Luke, I knew there wasn't anyone else I'd send my dog to! At 5 months old, Luke went to the Greensboro location for the Board and Train program. It was hard to leave him at such a young age, but I knew he was in good hands with Andy and Joe.
I dropped off a wild boy that was full of crazy puppy energy, but I knew he was eager to learn and be put to work. Andy and the team did just that, and by the time I picked him up I couldn't believe how much progress he made in just a few weeks. Don't get me wrong - his fun, goofy, wild energy was still there, just controlled and behaved. At pickup, Joe gave me a full demonstration of Luke's new commands, and how to handle him.
He made sure I was confident in the groundwork so Luke and I could keep working once we got home. When our first follow up meeting rolled around, we went to the Mooresville location and worked with Steve to hone in on his training and brush up on a few things that we had issues with since being on our own. Mind you, we drove six hours for the follow up appointment.
After the follow up, Andy stopped us on the way out to ask how everything was going and he heard that we drove down from Northern Virginia. Without hesitation, he invited us back for a one on one follow up the next day for some extra training. I ended up bringing my parents back with us the next day so they could see what all the hype was about, and they were amazed.
They had never seen anything quite like the work that Andy and his trainers do, or how excited the dogs were to be put to work. I can't express in words how thankful I am to have had Andy and his team work with my boy, my protector, and my best friend. I look forward to doing additional training with them for Luke again in the near future. 10/10 recommend. Some of the best money I've ever spent.

They trained my service dog and I can't be happier with the outcome. 5 days a week. He accompanies me to DC on two different trains The Metro six different federal buildings and large meetings with no issues at all. Whenever I have a question, they're quickly respond and make you feel more like family than a client

Although we've only just gone in to make an initial appointment, we did have a chance to speak to the owner in depth. This place appears to be the real deal! He is definitely a dog lover and an experienced trainer to the highest level. We believe, once we've gone back for analysis of the dog by him next week. That we will pursue the training and we will come back here to give a follow-up of experience. April 1st, 2022 update: We've been through six of the 10 lessons so far.
The dog is amazingly transformed already. I would recommend Andy K-9 to anyone that wants to have a happy yet reliable dog. I went from being dragged around by 120 lb animal to, halfway through the training, having a dog that walks right beside me and doesn't falter.

TL;DR: Slimy. Run away. Edit to add: the BBB complaint was not found in their favor, it was closed with a failure to provide alternative solution. I urge anyone considering using these folks to review that complaint and the attached documentation, and really consider the character of the people you choose to do business with. We went to this company desperately in need of help with a specific issue that not only wasn't addressed, but is now amplified by more nuanced bite cues.
Instead of helping or working with us we were told to stop contacting them. Beware. Representatives will say anything to get you to sign onto their programs, but don't honor their word. The training guarantee is a joke. Will offer conflicting instructions on how to work with your dog, then accuse you of not following instructions. Will accuse you of harassment in asking them to honor their guarantee by working with you and your dog to resolve the one issue you came to them for or issue a partial refund for services not rendered.
These boys are out to hit their sales numbers, not help families. Save yourself the time and money by going with any number of the reputable trainers we have in NC- IMO this is not one of them.

Need a trainer? Look no further! We enrolled our 1 1/2 rescue pit mix in Andy's 10 week training program to improve his manners. By the end of our training he not only had manners but was a much happier, loving, trusting dog. We are beyond impressed by the knowledge and experience all the staff has. Thank you all so much for teaching our Wallace!

Wow! Just picked up my pup from his 3 week board and train On - Off leash training. Not only did Andy and his expert team update and keep us informed the whole step of the way, but made us feel like family! Upon arrival we were greeted very friendly from his reception and went threw with his trainers step by step of handling our newly mannered pup. Excellent training and overall experience will be returning and recommending for sure because of Andy and his team thank you!
