The Herding Group is a classification of dog breeds that assist humans in moving, or herding, livestock. Various kennel clubs may use different categories to classify the breeds listed below. Dogs that primarily guard livestock are not typically included in this group. The Hound Group is a classification of dog breeds that share an ancestral history of assisting humans during the hunt, particularly through exceptional site, scent or speed.

However, we soon realized most dog owners were experiencing behavior problems at home and just wanted a dog they could live with.

Our dog training and behavior methodology is based on a deep understanding of natural canine behavior and its practical application. I am heartbroken as I write this. My beautiful dog Fritz had to be put down yesterday at only 8 years old. He had degenerative myelopothy which is what took him in the end. His entire life, he suffered from awful skin rashes and horrible allergies to almost every food imaginable. He had to get a caddie shot every month, baths every 2 weeks, and was allergic to EVERY meat except fish.
He had a limited diet and at several times in his life, he was under weight and struggled to gain it back due to all of his intolerances. He was constantly itching, bleeding, oozing, and scabbing up all over his body. Our poor beautiful baby was taken from us way too soon and I am disgusted by the lack of care Wilhendorf has. Degenerative myelopothy can be tested for because it is genetic and they NEVER should have bred two dogs that had the gene.
It is a HORRIBLE way to watch your dog suffer and I am heartbroken and hurt. Do not adopt a dog from this place. My family even tried to call John a few years back to see if other dogs from Fritz's litter had allergies too, and he could care less and was no help. I loved my Fritz with all my heart and I am appalled by this organization's carelessness. These breeders need to be held accountable for the pain they've caused our poor animal and our family.
