Just adopted a sweet Puggle from their rescue. It was a great experience with great communication with the staff. Update: After a few weeks we had to make the difficult decision to not continue with the adoption. The staff was kind and understanding with the desire for what's best for the dogs, and found her a new forever home. I am thankful for the experience and working with such good people.

Extremely bigoted and hateful. The entire time I was in the store I felt nothing but unwelcome. For a place that says they support rescues, they don't seem to respect or care about anyone. My dog wouldn't even want to go here.

Went to Farfel's with my daughter and her husband to pick up their newly adopted dog. Nice storefront and retail store run by people passionate about finding good forever homes for good dogs! It was a great experience!

I currently am a Foster parent and this is the best rescue I have ever worked through! Supportive and informative they provide me with everything and more to provide a loving and caring foster home for amazing 4-legged friends.

The people are wonderful and really care about the rescues. They carefully evaluate people to make sure they are a great fit for the animal. They also operate a wonderful pet store with lots of goodies and great customer service.

This rescue was very difficult to work with. The front desk person I conversed with was unprofessional, generally difficult, and a poor communicator to the point of me questioning her intelligence. The issues began when they requested breed and weight restrictions from our landlord. We reached out to them and forwarded an email from the landlord and shared the section on pets in our lease.

The email showed NO BREED OR WEIGHT restrictions. They had mentioned animals not over 40 pounds in an email screen from our initial move in, but that was not an official rule and upon asking them directly they were unconcerned about the weight. After this was done the girl stopped responding until I called. When we spoke she seemed to not accept this and wanted another email from the landlord directly.

She also said the dog we had applied for didn't officially have pit in her "but since she was a rescue she probably did and landlords will see them when they grow up and people have to return them". Fair enough I support this sentiment but for one she also had no idea what the weight or appearance would end up being and this was purely her biased opinion on the situation we would provide.

We decided not to do this for a number of reasons including the aforementioned frustration with working with this young woman and if they didn't accept the application status we had that would have been fine. We found out this morning she emailed our landlord without cc'ing us or giving us notice she would do this. Our landlord forwarded the email to inform us about this communication and upon her pushing for more information gave her a quick off the cuff reply saying "30 pound max and no history of destructive behavior" which was not something we had heard directly to us from the landlord (who we have a great relationship with) or was in any official leasing documents for the apartment.

Her pushing pressured our landlord into making an off the cuff email response for our pet adoption that would not have been an issue prior to his communication with her. I will not work with this rescue and would not recommend working with them if you can avoid it. Make them the LAST rescue on your call list. The response I anticipate is something along the lines of "we do this for the long term best for our dogs" and you" authorized our right to reach out to your landlord in the application".

Well both valid points on a surface level however if you do not see how you are at fault here you are a poorly run establishment. They created our issues and their concerns would not have applied to us until this girl was allowed to do a very poor job at working with potential adopters. In regards to "the dog that you applied for is a pitbull puppy".

See screenshot. If it were advertised as a pit we would not have applied for her for the reasons they outline in their response. Again more unprofessional, unintelligent, and misleading behavior. I suggest you advertise your breeds accurately as this current bio on that puppy (ON YOUR WEBSITE) directly contradicts what you just responded with. It would have saved me a lot of wasted time. Screenshot from Farfels Farm and Dog Rescue website link.

I would be very intrigued to know who specifically writes the breed for your ads? I recommend you start advising the breed with a disclaimer in a direct and professional manner with some documentation when someone like myself inquires about an adoption before wasting adopters time like they did to me. My fear for future adopters is them not communicating effectively or honestly and owners have to surrender more dogs from this rescue than an well operated one.

Well they just proved my point as to why it is VERY UNWISE to adopt from them in their final response. What is also comical is the fact that we are authorized to have a pit mix and the weight was approved before your employee intervened. Owner, you completely missed the point. Further proving why to avoid this rescue. I feel bad for their dogs who end up here. Also not a single apology from them just defensiveness. Bad look.

I just got word that you guys are taking sweet Honey from Houston. I found her abandoned and amazing Monica coordinated all of this. She will get to live her best life in the mountains and with caring people! Makes my heart so happy! Everyone will get a ton of puppy kisses when she gets there

I adopted from Farfel's Farm & Rescue 2 weeks ago and was extremely satisfied with their communication and assistance. The application is extensive which I appreciate because it shows they really care about who is adopting their dogs and that they want to ensure they make a correct match. Once mine was accepted, an employee Hope reached out to let me know I was approved.

She was extremely friendly, supportive and answered all my questions. Even after I picked up my dog she was super responsive to my random dog questions that probably weren't even her job to answer (I've never had a dog before so had lots of random questions!). They also cover the shots & spay through my adoption fee which is extremely helpful. I would 100% recommend adopting from Farfel's and commend Hope for being so helpful to me in this special time in my life! Thank you Farfel's & Hope!

I adopted my dog a little less than a month ago and I couldn't be happier with the process. She is such a sweetheart and Farfels made the adoption process very easy. We even had to take her to the vet in the first week and they covered the cost to make sure she was healthy! The application is long but I appreciated that they try to match dogs with homes in which they will be well taken care of!

The questions helped me form a plan for my pup as they go into good detail on so many aspects of a dogs life. If you are filling out the application I recommend being as thorough as possible. Thank you so much for our girl, she is happy and we are happy!

We adopted Ollie (formerly Oreo) from Farfels right around the start of Covid and we couldn't be happier! They are truly a great adoption facility and gave us the best service. The staff were great and very informative with the thousand of questions we had. They really made the adoption process as smooth as could be. When we decide to adopt another dog we will definitely be choosing Farfels again.

*FAREL'S IS OPEN AND OPERATING* Sandy, Jeff, Aurora, and Hope helped me make the best decision ever. Spoke personally with all four through the adoption process and was impressed with the amount of vetting they do to ensure the adopters are the right fit. If I find myself wanting another animal in the future, Farfel's will be my first choice in search.

Farfels is an amazing adoption agency to go through. Our dog came to us with the typical health conditions seen in a stray, kennel cough and a little mange. We took her to their approved vet - Niwot Veterinarian and they were amazing. Farfels covered all of the costs to put her on antibiotics, and medicated shampoo to treat her skin sonce she came to us sick.

This is truly one of the best adoption agencies to go through. Our dog is a wonderful addition to our family and everything they described about her is true! I would 100% adopt another pet through them again (July 2020).

Farfel's started out seeming great. They approved me for adopting a dog and at that point were very friendly. But when I went to see it, it was a lot different than the picture AND the description. The description said it was a dachshund (not a dachshund mix). It was definitely a mix so I was quite surprised. In the description, it said the dog had been in a foster home but the young women at the counter said it had not.

That meant to me that it had not been vetted. By that time I was feeling pretty disillusioned. Ultimately I did not take the dog home because it didn't feel right. My granddaughter was with me and cried. If I'd had better information in the first place, that could have been avoided. Sandy, one of the owners, later told me she couldn't let me adopt any dog from them because I didn't take the dog after my granddaughter cried, and when I said the dog wasn't a dachshund as indicated, she said I was only concerned with cosmetics.

This she repeated. I've had several rescues in the past and cosmetics were never an issue. I took dogs that needed a home but that were also a good fit for me. She indicated that I was insufficiently compassionate not to have taken the dog home. She misunderstood me completely, spoke to me in a rude and disrespectful way, and seemed to only be interested in defending her position.

She acted like the dog really was a dachshund when clearly it was not. It was a mix at most. I wasn't so concerned about it being a mix--I like mixes--but I was concerned about misrepresentation that led to disappointed expectations on the part of me and my granddaughter, too. And if I hadn't come in to talk with her, I never would have realized there was no longer any chance of being chosen for a dog. Farfel's repeated more than once that there would be no judgment if a dog was refused for whatever reason.

Clearly there is a great deal of judgment. Jeff said there are thousands of dogs that need homes. It wasn't that I was concerned about never getting a dog from them, I was upset about misrepresentation, at the way I was treated, and the way I was spoken to.

Great little pet store, met the owner while walking by, super nice. Like all the options inside, especially their new line of dog toys they came up with, they're genius :

I love Farfel's! They have a wonderful selection of quality food and treats! Lots of choices for toys, collars, leashes and such fun novelty items. Sandy and Jeff are such kind and decent people. They offer great advice when asked. The rescue they run helps so many homeless dogs and dogless people! It's a great place to shop! See for yourself and go by for a visit.

I've been doing business with Sandy and Jeff since shortly after they opened. They are two of the nicest, most decent people you could ever meet. Lots of toy choices, treats, collars and leashes and fun novelty items! Plus, they are providing an immeasurably vital service with the rescue they operate. So many lives saved from high kill shelters! Stop into Farfel's Farm - you won't be disappointed!

Cute place, but it took 3 mins for the woman behind the counter to get off of her phone and check me out. That's a long time to awkwardly stand there and wait to be helped! I had all of my stuff on the counter, so it wasn't a secret that I was done shopping and ready to pay. I should've left.

Just wanted to update my experience with an adoption. After expensive Board and Train and now a Certified Vet in Castle Pines, (, 6,m onths) one of only 70 in the U. S., my guy is slowly improving. The first 6 months were awesome, but after leaving for an overseas vacation all hell broke out. He's seeing the behavioral vet as his aggression was escalating. He's still in training in Castle Pines, is on medication, and I am approaching $6,000 in a year and a half.

I was told that after 6 months of all going well, it was too late, nothing Farfels could do. After research, veterinarian and trainer consultations I learned aggression can be an issue with this breed if you don't know the parents. I sent info to Farfels, but was told this had never happened with all the Aussies they have rescued. This is my 4th dog, and 4th rescue.

In the future I will adopt from a rescue that really vets behavior and or comes from a foster situation where information on the dog can be provided, not 30 mins. after a long, stressful drive to Colorado. Most adopters here have a great experience and I am happy for them. Others, like my friend who I highly recommended, fell into the "secret" place where suddenly dogs were unavailable and told waiting for an application. (The policy is no adoption without application.) For me, the risk is too high. I am not a rich person, but love and am dedicated to animals. Now I await the expected rebuttal.

I never took Beau to a dog park, but in Colorado it's nearly impossible to find a trail or place to walk where you don't run into another dog at some point. I did take him to a park with my friend and her one dog after you gave me the advice to try him off leash. I never blamed you or Beau for getting bit. I just called you to tell you that I wouldn't be able to keep him. You're absolutely correct, Beau was not the center of my being upset. He's an extremely sweet dog, just not the dog for me, and I was under the impression that the point of the foster week was to catch instances like this where it wouldn't be a good fit and solve it early.

I understand you are doing great work for the dogs, and my intention in posting was not to discourage people from adopting, I think I made that clear. My intention is merely to urge you to treat your customers with respect while still doing your great work for the animals. I think it can be done.

They don't want our business. We faxed (not sure who uses faxes anymore) in an application to adopt a dog and never heard back. Understandable as they have so many applications. So we decided to stop by the store and ask if we had been approved or if there were other dogs available to adopt. The clerk took out our application from their file and said that they don't really feel comfortable adopting to us.

Being we are two grown adults with good jobs, a home with a yard, and a business we were extremely confused and asked why. She stated " Well, you have a child under 10 and you both have jobs". This did not seem odd to us so we asked what this had to do with it. She stated that they never really adopt to people that have children under 10 because they can't tell the temperament and we might get lucky one day to get a Lab. Additionally we both work (being 2018 my wife and I didn't think this was odd that we both have jobs) and that they would NEVER adopt out to a family that didn't have at least one person at home to watch the dog all day.

Since we are not retired, independently wealthy, both choose work and have children we do not qualify for the privilege of giving a dog a good home. Unfortunately this rescue seems to scoop up all the hypoallergenic dogs and we cannot find one at a shelter. Therefore we are going to a breeder or, yes I'll say it, going to a pet store. Too bad, because we are a good family and have a wonderful home to provide for a dog. Additionally we previously had a dog that passed away in 2017 that we got from a shelter. He lived happily until 16.we are such awful people.

Farfel's is a fun pet store. They have mostly dog stuff, but some cat stuff. I like the interesting and topical dog chew toys and uploaded a couple images.

There's a really good vibe in this place on the West end of Pearl Street, and that means a lot to me in today's mostly antiseptic business setting. Sandy & Jeff offer a lot of dog and cat supplies and toys, but they also know their subject, and offer options. They have a lot of love in this store, and it just feels right. They are pushy, they don't jam products on you, instead they ask solid questions and try to make your visit a good one. They're friendly and positive. In addition, they also rescue dogs and cats from all around the Rockies, and that's a big plus in my world. I'll definitely return.

Love love love this place, I get my cats food here, and is the only place I will shop. The ladies who work here are very nice, especially the one with very short hair. They will remember you, and treat you like you are a part of the family. More people need to come to these type of pet stores bc the pet cos and pet marts are taking taking over. If you live local, Shop local if you don't, your loco

Do not go here. Customer service is very important to me. This woman and/or company has animals listed on Adopt-a-Pet.com. We've reached out to her twice and never received one response back. Extremely poor customer service! Who knows what she does with these poor animals. I feel sorry for them already!
