Brought in my dog for a 5 day boarding completely fine. While on vacation, I received a message regarding "small irritation" spot on his back legs with a note they would put a cone on him. When we picked him up, he had open bloody wounds, trouble walking, and a lack of appetite ( bribe him with chicken to eat). He spent the next week laying around with difficulty getting up and would only leave our house to relieve himself.

Post dog boarding, we noticed semi hard bowel movements that turned bloody in a weeks time. We Rushed him back into the vet once again where he tested positive for the Parasite Giardia that's contracted from dirty water or contaminated spaces that have been cleaned. All in all, would not recommend this facility unless you're willing to take on a risk of a vet bill more expensive than the actual boarding itself.

Fog City Dogs, both the day-play location on Lombard or the play & boarding on Shafter, are absolute lifesavers for me! Clean, friendly, safe, experienced staff @ very reasonable prices,

The staff are always friendly and understanding, and my dog looks forward to visiting whenever we're in town. They take great care of my dog and he's always happy and upbeat when I pick him up. Highly recommend Fog City Dogs for their high priority care and attention to detail in addition to competitive pricing.

They were friendly and my puppy was boarding in a nice little room for one night and 2 days of daycare. The only thing I have an issue with is that when I picked him up, he hadn't eaten anything for that day and that was at 4pm. He was starving. I had meals prepped for him but it was never used.

Instead of putting up signs everywhere asking customers to make sure their dogs don't pee on the building, the staff should try taking the dogs out for walks more often. When I picked up my dog on the first day, she could not hold her pee a minute longer. She squatted --in the middle of the sidewalk-- as soon as we walked out the door. This is totally abnormal behavior for her.

I thought it was a fluke, but the same thing happened the second day. The poor little pup was just so uncomfortable. This is cruel and incredibly shortsighted. Signs on the wall don't make bladders any bigger. We won't be going back.

We LOVE fog city dogs. The staff are all so kind and thoughtful. We hate having to leave our pup for the day but we know he is in the best of hands.

Since I moved to San Francisco, my shelter pup has been a regular for boarding at Fog City Dogs. I travel quite a bit for work and can always trust the staff to take great care of my dog. She's always eager to walk through the doors, so that tells me she feels right at home at Fog City Dogs.

Wonderful, safe facility and really great and caring staff! It was my first time boarding my puppy for a week and I knew she was in good hands. I also received a report card everyday with an update on how she was doing which was relieving. I would recommend this daycare!

Our very beloved and elderly Labrador Bella stayed with Fog City on her move back to NZ from Canada. We had to extend her stay at the last minute due to her failing her fit to fly and Fog City were very helpful and responsive in keeping us updated on her recovery and sending through lots of pics and taking extra special care of Bella. A huge thanks in particular to Mel who made me feel like Bella was in the best place possible literally half a world away. Would definitely recommend. Amy

If a negative rating could be given, I would. My family and I took two dogs over the thanksgiving holiday to stay for almost a week. Pick the dogs up and not only have they not been bathed and groomed, which we paid for, but I had to take my dog in to shave her, due to matting being so bad on all four legs. I notified them right away and they stated that they will give us a credit for the services that weren't provided.

Not good enough! Come to find out, the groomer stated that they had to be laying in their feces the entire time to get that dirty and matted. Since that time period, both dogs have had behavioral issues. One in particular has not stopped defecting in her crate. She will crawl in and defecate instead of going outside. Contacted the vet and was told that is because they must have been kept in the kennel and not allowed them out, causing emotional issues now.

Either way, I wouldn't send my worst enemies animal to this place. To pay for the privilege of having your animals sit in their feces and urine and confined to a kernel without being let out for days on end, is disgusting. The city should shut them down!

My dogs are always well taken care if. I now have only one dog and board her at Fog City Dogs when needed. I recently left her under their care for 10 days and she looks great. They send me email reports on how she's doing and that is much appreciated.

Left my dog with Fog City over Halloween weekend and they did a great job. I had done the initial evaluation so I got to take a look around before drop off. Drop off was a bit rushed but understand that it was a morning and a holiday, they were busy! I had originally booked my dog for group play package but got a phone call after the first day saying my dog wasn't doing too good at play time and that they would change him over to 1:1 play. Understandable as this was my first time leaving him anywhere. The lady on the phone was very sweet an explained everything to me very well. Got report cards from Fog City on his stay. I will be back

I very highly recommend Fog City Dogs! I bring my older mixed-breed dog Billie 3 days/wk for daycare on Lombard and if we're going out of town she boards at their other location on Shafter. Both facilities are clean, welcoming & organized, maintained by knowledgeable, caring staff & management. A wonderful, safe, loving place for doggies of all sizes,

My puppy stayed here for four nights. During drop-off and pick-up, I had to deal with a manager named James who was very rude. He should not be working a customer-facing position at all, he made the experience sleazy and unbearable. Strike 1: Evaluation - I was told on the phone by a lady that I could tour the facility while they gave my pup a behavior assessment.

During the appt, I ask James for a tour, he rolls his eyes, then guides me to the back where all I get to see is a hair dryer station and an empty dog suite. The suite did not have a bed and I did not get to see the soft bedding that my package included so I had no reassurance on how to prepare my pup for his stay. He did not take me to see the rest of the facility like the play area.

Strike 2: Drop off - He asks how much kibble should they feed my dog. I ask what the measurements were. He claims they are in cups. I said I would like to see what the cup looks like just to confirm my dog won't be underfed. He scoffs then runs to the back to show me the cup. Strike 3: Pick up - In the bag that I dropped my pup off with, I included 3 toys.

One of toys were missing so I asked James if he had seen it. He does a quick search, says no, then makes a comment on how they are "not responsible for loss or damage" and how he "has other people to check-in". Now the toy was only 15 bucks but this response was not productive nor was it helpful. There was another employee there who was much more helpful and she offered to mail the toy if they found it. Also the place had a very foul smell that I'm not even sure how the employees deal with.

This was my puppers first time boarding ever. I was worried and excited for my baby. This place did many things to make me feel at easy and ready to have them take care of my baby for the first time. I appreciated the thorough report cards they would send for updates and also the honesty within them (ie my pup wasn't eating, as I had expected). But they let me know and I figure it was normal for him in a new setting like that.

Little things like this make me gain trust in care with my little guy. Shakes had a great time, we opted in for the full day play package as my guy is very energetic and active and when he got home from this 3 day stay he was EXHAUSTED from all the play! I could tell he had a great time and we would totally use their services again, I'm recommending them to all my other dog dads and moms!

I took my dog here for over a year and absolutely recommend this place. I adopted her during the pandemic and started taking her to Fog City when she was about six months old. At the time, she was. quite timid with strange dogs and would rarely play with them. During her year here, she became much more confident. and would constantly approach and play with dogs much larger than her when I took her out on walks.

I could also tell she loved the staff based on how she jumped all over them whenever they answered the door. All my interactions with the staff were also very professional. We have since moved to LA and I was very sad to leave Fog City Dogs behind! Definitely take your dog here if you can.

Due to the unfortunate circumstances of a death in the family, I had to go out of town for a funeral. Fog City Dogs was there for me by taking good care of of my two dogs while I was away. My dogs liked the place and came back happy and relaxed. I liked daily reports they send to you about how your dogs are doing and it helped to calm my fears about them being ok. They have plans where dogs are fed, walked, and even playtime just like home but away from home. I would recommend

Unpretentious, utilitarian facility that takes wonderful care of our dog. Our pup plays hard and comes home exhausted from daycare. She is high-energy and has been overcoming puppy-mouthiness with Fog City showing her (and us) patience and grace as she matures, giving us feedback about what we need to work on. FCD has been integral to maintaining her social skills now that my partner and I are both back in the classroom teaching full-time, and though she may be stinky at the end of the day, she is safe and loved!

We cannot thank this staff enough for the patience, kindness, and care they show our dog. When they saw she has anxiety surrounding grooming they were candid that they would not exacerbate her fears by bathing her on site until we reintroduce grooming in a positive manner. FCD is here for the well being of our pet and we are all about it. Thanks y'all!

Staff was wonderful and very responsive. My dog was nervous as usual, but he felt comfortable enough to just go with the staff and had a wonderful time. He returned happy and excited. Was a great experience from start to finish. He also got a bath and had his teeth brushed and it made all the difference in the world. Highly recommend!

This is NOT a good place for dog boarding. First, I need to say that this place is very stinky. I had my dog stay 2 nights and they said first night is free. But the bill came out with overcharged $150 and they did not explain on the receipt. My dog is not neuter so I got him a gold package which is $33. The bill came out with 1 night free but the total bill was over charged $150.

My dog came home with very stinky smell like pee smelling on body that they never had it in other dog daycare. They are very nice to help me clean their toys but the toys are very stink and I washed at home 3 times but it still have the bad smell. This is worst one I've ever been.

I found this place online since our normal boarding facility has closed due do covid. My dog is not neutered so I was told he wouldn't be allowed to participate in group time or walks and would be kept separate during his stay. during the trip the facility kept you updated on how your pet is doing daily. Upon pick up he seemed fine but a few days after being home he began coughing and he was taken to the vet and was diagnosed with kennel cough.

He is now on 2 different antibiotics. My dog has never been sick before and has played with multiple different doggy day camps and never has gotten sick. So I'm assuming this facility isn't very clean : So after leaving the vet $200 later I notified the facility and nothing is being offered to help with the vet costs or to refund partial payment. Be careful when choosing this facility for boarding needs.

I called Fog City to see if they could cut my dog's nails and asked if they had availability this long weekend. The guy on the phone literally laughed at me and said "it's a long weekend, we're fully booked". Not a big deal that they're booked, but was it necessary to laugh at me? I would have been happy to wait a few weeks for the next appointment, but his pretentious attitude made me think twice before giving them my business.

We rely on Fog City to watch our pup when we both have to go to work. It is great peace of mind to know he is being looked after, walked and getting lots of play time during the day. I love that he is exhausted and ready to cuddle at the end of the day when we pick him up.

We had to find a fun place for my nervous dog, Bacon to socialize and make some friends. This is the place. He is scared to go anywhere else but he actually enjoys coming here. Which is a huge relief for us! The staff is always super friendly and welcoming. The entire family enjoys checking out the Instagram posts to see Bacon having a blast with his buddies!

I hate boarding my dog but Nate was so nice and sensitive to both my and my dog's needs I was reassured. When my best friend's boarding time was up he was ecstatic to see me and I could tell he had a wonderful experience! My dog LOVED being in play group with other dogs. He is and always has been very social. I was so happy that FCD offered the play groups as well as private bed time space.

He and I are home now and he is crying (happy) and actually howling softly. I know it's because he loved being able to socialize after such a prolonged period with just me. All I can say is board your dog and don't worry about it being a bad experience! Your dog will love you for it. Paws up! Great experience for us both. Also the daily report cards helped me while I was gone and missing him so much.

Love Fog City Dogs! They take awesome care of our puppy, Flower and she is a handful. They're always happy to help with training and she has an excitement induced meltdown every time we pull up. They've also done an amazing job boarding our older and more reserved Rescue, Mona. Awesome organization that really cares about your pets.

My dog gives his highest possible endorsement. Picked him up (looking awesome from bath), quick walkies, got to our car -- instead of pawing the car door, he tried walking back into Fog City! Guess he felt his 3-day stay wasn't long enough.

Love them! They've watched our small scared chihuahua Fox several times. He's very fearful of other dogs, so he does not go to play time and instead stays alone in his room all day. Nate took such great care of Fox during our most recent trip! He brought him to the office each day and let him nap in his lap or on the desk so he could be around people and not feel so lonely. The best part was getting pictures emailed to us each day. Highly recommend Fog City for dog boarding!

As it was our first time boarding our new puppy, we were a bit anxious about how it would go. Much to our surprise, when we received the first of many report cards and a first-day photo, we were so happy. It helped put us at ease to enjoy our vacation knowing Churro was being well cared for. Kudos to the staff at Fog City Dogs.

We've been going to Fog City Dogs for over a year now and we love it. Kosmo (our dog) goes about once a week for playgroup and recently a 13 day stay and came home happy and healthy. We received report cards and updates constantly and felt completely comfortable our entire trip! The staff are so friendly and nice to Kosmo despite the fact that he can be a bit rowdy at times. We love Fog City Dogs and wouldn't go anywhere else!

It was my dog first time at Fog City. I was visiting the city and decided to let her on day care. The staff of Fog city was very cordial and kind. But I would like to complain about the smell. The place has a very strong smell of pee. My dog stayed 3 hour there and when I pick her up I couldn't handle her smell.

I was plain horrified when I learned the truth about this place. The back where our dogs stay is scorching hot! Only the small front office is air conditioned which is quite misleading for us dog parents. If it is warm outside, it is on fire inside! It is so hot and unbearable that they spray our dogs with water in attempt to cool them down. Ever wonder why an employees face is so red or oily?

It is NOT from a long playtime with the dogs. The dogs staying there are too hot to do much exercise and mostly are just laying down while heavily panting! There's almost nothing there but hard floor and 2-3 "beds" for 30+ dogs. The dog "beds" are just material such as on a trampoline. It's not soft or comfortable. The floor is splattered with pee and water from the mop cleaning up the pee as dogs walk around it and get it on their paws.

There is no designated area for dogs to use the bathroom so it's all over the place until a poor employee cleans it up, but then the floor remains wet from the water. It's an incredibly hot & unsanitary environment for our dogs to stay in. I feel sorry for the employees that work here but please don't let your dog stay here. It's torture. 1 Star for the nice employees working here, but that is really it. Management really needs to close this place down or make some major changes so our dogs don't suffer. I will not be letting my dogs come here.

Been taking my dog Hunter here throughout the last 3-4 years. Once in 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2019. Each year was a good week-long stay. I miss their online cameras that they used to have back in the day. However, the every-other-day report cards sent through emails are very helpful. Love the staff here. Our dog was a stray rescue puppy, so we were always worried how he'd be in these environments. However, Hunter seemed to do just fine every time.

The staff has always been friendly and helpful. Their pricing is reasonable compared to other places, which is why I also consider coming back each time. Thank you Fog City Dogs!

Updating my review: Logan and Melissa called me on more than one occasion to apologize for the situation, confirmed that they took necessary action internally, and helped me instill trust in FCD again. I have been back since and have been happy with their care. Thanks guys! ------------------------ I had been boarding my dogs here for years and unfortunately, had a terrible experience with my new puppy.

It was my first time boarding him and on the second day, I viewed the webcam and noticed a cone was on him. I called to ask what happened and was told he scratched and cut his head a little so they put a cone on him prevent him from scratching it. Fair enough. But when I picked him up, I was in complete shock that I wasn't notified. He had some old scabs on his head so I understood if he simply scratched it.

But this was completely infected and I had to take him to the vet immediately after. (Uploaded photo) I completely understand that things happen in daycare but the lack of communication is absurd. I should NOT have to call you while I'm away. Would FCD have even called me if I didn't view the webcam? Had I known it looked like this, I would have asked him to be brought to the vet. Your team should focus on communicating with your clients because this is clearly not a priority.
