I had to book a last minute stay with 2 of my 3 pups, they would have been able to take all 3 but with the two they took care of I am happily impressed! Thank you for kind service, and a "mom and pop" feel to caring for my pups! I will be using them again!

Terrible place! My dogs were neglected and abused! One had his nails cut to the bone the others nails were long and curled under, one is missing teeth and has what appears to be spider bites on his legs and an ear infection/mites. When i went to get them the place looked abandoned, the grass was waist high, the grooming station was piled up as if these ppl went out of business and the owner implied they had. He had one excuse after another for the condition of the property and my dogs. DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY!

Fantastic groomers! They were so sweet and genuinely cared about the wellbeing of my older dog and her special needs. After months of not being groomed, my dog had so many mats close to the skin. They took her in at 9am and got her back at 4pm with no mats, no dirt, perfectly pristine again! 100% would recommend anyone looking for caring groomers that are incredible at their job! Definitely going back again!

Employee Leslie Landers is a racist and this company chooses to employ her. I'm sure her comments will explain it all.

Friendly staff and reasonable pricing but i did not appreciate how my pup was treated. I provided a bed and some toys for my dog to keep him him comfortable because we were away for a full week. I didn't think it was too much to ask to simply put that stuff in the kennel he was staying in. When we picked him up his bed was in the corner where we left it, perfectly clean and brand new. no toys had been taken out of the bag and barely any food i provided was used. Needless to say, I'm guessing my dog slept on a concrete floor for 5 days and who knows if he ate. Will not be returning.

When we evacuated for the hurricane we took our pets to the kennel in Charlotte. They were great and kept us informed and worked with us on extending their stay. Friendly employees, nice atmosphere. My cat seemed to really enjoy herself. My dog started growling at them, I don't know why, but they kept him. The only thing I didn't live was the fleas they came home with, but that is unavoidable with kenneling.

Both of my dogs died while in the care of this kennel in 2006. I had reserved two dog runs for a period of about a week, while I was traveling out of state. The staff, who are not trained veterinarians, apparently made the decision that my dog Molly was beyond medial care and left her presumed dead on the floor of the kennel for 8 hours. They transported my dog Moose to the emergency veterinary clinic but failed to notify me of the deaths or the transfer to the veterinary clinic.

Three days later, I finally received a call from the veterinary clinic, regarding what I wanted done with the remains and my $1300 bill. I never received an apology even from the Granbar Kennels staff or owner, after this horrific incident.

My dog stayed at kennels that was much better that what was charged here. Customer service was horrible and they will try to get over on you. Only good things it wasn't far from my residence. Will never let my dog stay there again. BEWARE!

I tried this place because they had a Living Social deal. It was hard to find and when I came it, well it needs a good coat of paint and the stained, cracked floor looks bad. The girl in the office was great and the groomer came out and talk to me which was pretty cool, but when I went to pick up my dog a gray haired, older lady was snapping at the girl behind the counter.

The girl was still very nice, but the elderly women wanted me to fill out a sheet of paper for a review. I told her I didn't want to, but she was being pushy. Anyway my dog looked great when the groomer brought her out, they did an awesome job.

I took my long haired mixed breed medium sized dog to get groomed and they did a terrible job. It looks choppy and very uneven. You can see the chop lines from the individual cuts. There are parts that are maybe an inch long and right next to it will be a spot that's 3 inches long. It's really bad. The main reason why I wanted to have her groomed was for her shedding, which I told them.

When I got her home, I took NINE brush fulls of fur off her. NINE! Terrible location, very difficult to find and the sign in very hard to see. Staff was nice, perhaps fine for boarding, but I will absolutely not be taking her there for grooming again. It's unfortunate that I'm now going to have to take her somewhere else to have them fix it cause it's simply that bad. *******UPDATE******** The owner issued me a full refund but refused to acknowledge the poor quality by merely making excuses saying "keep in mind that sometimes the dogs move." I have taken my dog to groomers before when I lived in another state and have never had work this bad.

I've had people ask me if I tried to groom her myself and when I say "no, this is a professional job" the next question is always "have you complained yet?" or "have you gotten a refund?" I just don't know how you can stand by work that poor.

You get what you pay for. My experience was okay. The place does look a little creepy but the lady inside was nice. My dog looked pretty good when I picked him up and seemed fine. The prices are very good so I will probably try this place again.

This place is unreal. I bought a livingsocial deal and dropped my pup of at 9 am and was told she would be ready at 1. At 130 I called and was told to give them 15 minutes. When I arrived a lady came asking me to write review. I told her no I was not that I had not even picked my pup up. I offered to go online and the lady said no she needed me to fill out the paper that she would put it online.

I declined still as she practically begged. I know this is aweful but the place and the people were dirty with rotting teeth and it creeped me out. I finally got Zoey, tipped and kinda ran. Zoey was in a panic. Getting home I realized she had not been bathed, nails weren't clipped, and she was just cut in odd places. I called and told the lady I wasn't happy but thry wasted out entire day waiting to go on vacation and Zoey wasn't groomed.

She asked that I bring her back. NO WAY! This morning I googled "groomers" and found a review by ME saying they did a great job! I was kind enough to not review before but goodness! The review described my trouble finding it and the lady. I don't know why they would write a half fake review and use by name T. Hicks. All my google reviews are under my middle name Marie! They denied the review and won't remove it so please know they are horrible! I would definitely NOT take my pet there!

After a last minute decision we decided to use this kennel to board our dog while we went on vacation. They conveniently allowed our dog to board with hardly any notice, and after their normal boarding hours. Being already very nervous about leaving our puppy who doesn't seem to like anybody we felt reassured with the welcoming words of the owners and assistants.

On top of that the front desk assistants said we would be contacted with a report on our puppy's activities and overall state. While on vacation across the country we did NOT receive one phone call, not even after leaving a message. When we finally called and talked to them after them having our "child" for 4 days they were very vague about our puppy's activities and mental state.

When we picked him up, honestly he looked like he was eating healthy and his coat and gums looked good (despite him smelling like kennels that aren't cleaned regularly). Another plus was that we provided a dura bone that you put peanut butter in to keep puppies occupied, which was used because there still a little bit of peanut butter left. Our puppy was also exposed to different people and other dogs, which is good for us because he really needed the socialization.

So having him not bark at the sight of something moving is a miracle! Overall we were satisfied and happy with the services until this. As I was rubbing my puppy's stomach I noticed something like a rash around his privates. Completely unacceptable.not the rash itself but the fact that the workers aren't paying attention to the dogs physical well being.

I would at least expect a call! Even if its a call saying "we tried to check out your dog and he wasn't receptive to our daily checks" so at least I know they tried and have an excuse for not knowing our puppy had a rash spreading to his stomach! I really don't think I'm a difficult person but some things you can't just give a pass. Don't think I will sacrifice convenience and socialization for lack of actual contact with me and my puppy.

I have taken my poodle here dozen of times but not anymore. I picked my poodle up and he was cut under his neck.they didn't tell me.the time b4 that he caught a double ear infection and maybe about 3 times b4 that they cut him on his skin near were he pee.mind you i didnt ask for them to clean shave him there.the nick this time was the last straw.

Plus now he has all this flaky stuff coming from his coat and i found a patch where you could tell she totally skipped.and the owner has about 6 poodles so why do they keep messing up mines. If the lady with the jacked up eye is there take your dog and run

When I have to leave Charlotte on business I bring my older Labrador (12yrs) to Granbar Kennels. I am always pleased with their level of care for my animal as my lab has come back happy, healthy, and clean every time. I definitely recommend this kennel for all your animals when you have to travel.
