The grooming lounge is the only place I will ever go to get my haircut. Since I've been going there the last 8 months, I've never had better treatment, service, attention to detail and care, the best products and by far the best, expert level groomsman-ship. I've only gone to Choi and Mike for my haircut but all their employees go above and beyond what you expect from getting a haircut.

Everyone is so friendly, they always offer you whatever you'd like to drink, the amazing, lovely woman at the front always makes my day and I love chatting with her whenever I'm done with my haircut.

Great haircut and beard trim. I like a barber that doesn't talk too much and pays attention to details.

Got married on Feb 29, 2020 on leap day. We received two gift cards for hair services from our two best friends. Of course, then Covid hit. We live in DC. The Grooming Lounge has been CLOSED this entire time and is still not open. I don't go to Tysons with all the crowds. I have repeatedly tried to get confirmation that my two gift cards are still valid. ZERO RESPONSE after numerous calls and emails with photos of the actual gift cards! I need this business to step up and tell me if they are honoring these cards because you cannot use them online for products. ONLY in Salon Services!

My husband has been searching for a place that can cut and style is longer, curly hair. This is NOT the place. His stylist absolutely butchered his hair, took off so much to the point it looks like a subpar crew cut. He and the stylist had agreed beforehand on the style and then she just took it in her own direction. He came home very upset and had to take his own clippers out to even pieces of it out -- which for $66 is insane to me.

She clearly had no idea how to handle curly textured hair and instead of admitting that she ruined his confidence and love of his hair. Absolutely do not recommend and he will not be going back.

Showed up for my 3:30 appointment only to find that my barber, Kaylee had called in sick. Only a very mild apology with a weak explanation that they tried to call me. I had one missed call from a number I did not recognize. No voicemail, text or email. I understand things happen but failing to notify a customer that they are canceling an appointment shows either poor organization or lack of care of their customers time.

Okay thought I would try a new place since my current barber is on vacation. All I can say is WOW. Choi was the most meticulous and perfect stylist. She worked on my hair and beard for the better part of an hour. Literally making every hair and line perfect. Shampoo before and after with blow dry and style. Honestly not even a hair on the rest of me can just go to work. Just a perfect experience all around. Best haircut I have ever had.and I don't say that lightly.

Critical: Value Got a massage. Spent the entire time on my hip, saying I was really tight there, despite telling her that I'd like her to focus on other areas. Once done, did a poor job of cleaning off the oil, I had to use the sheets to wipe off so that I didn't get my clothes greasy. Poor value for the cost.

Kind of expensive, it's worth it though. Sue has trimmed my beard a couple times, and does a fantastic job. It's like she is an artist and loves to do a good job. Thanks Sue

Haircuts aren't cheap but the stylists are worth every penny. I recommend asking for Kaylee - in particular if you're ready for a style change and want some suggestions. I'd also recommend buying their services in packs of 5 for cost savings. The only negative is their refusal to allow customers to put tips on credit cards. I know it's a common practice, but its not very customer-friendly.

Sophia makes me look great! A bit expensive overall but very much worth it, especially if you take advantage of some of their gift card offerings and bulk packages. You get what you paid for.

It seems a tad on the expensive side to me, especially the haircuts. Nonetheless, Grooming Lounge has a pleasant atmosphere with friendly staff and quality service. Besides cutting hair, they also provide manicures and pedicures. I'm not sure if they have re-started giving facials after stopping due to COVID restrictions. They also feature a plethora of grooming products, both from their own line and several other manufacturers. It's a good spot for men's hair and nail services.

I've been hundreds of times over the last fifteen plus years. They cut my hair and my sons hair. Everyone is super nice and capable. Great haircuts, shaves, massages, waxing. Easy to get in and out of with plenty of mall parking at Tysons2, The grooming lounge is one of my favorite places to relax. Shout out to Ann, Kaylee, Christine. You guys really make it special.

Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality I've been visiting Grooming Lunge of Virginia for almost two years--first for haircuts and beard trims, and now only haircuts (because of COVID restrictions). All staff members are skilled, professional, and personable. Not only go I always get a great haircut, but I leave relaxed and feeling pampered. Highly recommended.

Everyone there was nice and professional. They took there time and did the haircut right. They asked lots of questions during the haircut and I got what I wanted.

They should step up their game on customer service to match the excessive fees they charge for services like pedicures ($71). My experience today was not pleasant. The front desk person welcoming people for appointment check-ins was not friendly and very unhelpful.

After seven months of letting my hair grow out, I decided to research and visit a high end place for my next haircut. I'm usually a guy who just pops into the neighborhood barber, but wanted to do it right this time. I made an appointment with Sara and was blown away by her level of professionalism and attention to detail. We spent a few minutes talking about what I wanted.

She offered candid advice and walked me through what was realistic with my head of hair. She went to work like a fine artist and gave me a truly remarkable hair cutting experience. I walked away very pleased with my haircut and will absolutely be returning to see her in the future.

This shop is my go-to-place for a haircut. The stylists at this shop always takes care of me. Fortunately, my family and friends give me gift cards to the Grooming Lounge.

I feel ripped off. I came here for the first time yesterday for a haircut. I'm used to paying $18 for a haircut to my local barber, but decided it was time to start paying extra for a professional salon experience. My haircut cost $71, before tax. I knew the cost coming in, but figured I would give it a shot and that the experience would be dramatically better than what I get at my local barber.

The thing is, it really wasn't. At all. The haircut itself was fine. The stylist was nice enough. But it truly wasn't any better a haircut in my local barber gives. I think what bothers me is that the overall salon experience was so underwhelming. The only difference between is that they shampooed my hair first. I actually walked out with clumps of half-inch-long hair trimmings stuck in each ear, which is much *worse* than my barber.

Like my barber, they offered a shoulder massage at the end. But unlike my barber, who actually gets in there with his hands, they just ran some really loud machine over my shoulders for about 20 seconds. They didn't offer me any refreshments or anything extra that felt like a high-end salon experience. The insult to injury came at the end when I bought a small 4-ounce tube of product that my stylist had used in my hair.

They charged me almost 25 bucks for that tube. Later I googled it, and I can buy it online for eight dollars from the manufacturer. I understand the need for a business to put a markup on the products it sells (my usual barber marks up his product too), but even restaurants selling bottles of wine don't mark them up by 3x the retail cost! Feels like I learned a very expensive lesson.

I'm not soured on the salon experience, but I feel like I need to do my homework and find a better salon before I pay someone 4x as much money as my barber charges for a haircut.

I have been going to Grooming Lounge for my haircut and other grooming needs such as back hair waxing, massage, facials and pedicure. They do an outstanding job and their staff is very friendly and helpful for all my needs. For my haircuts, I go to Janelline who is just outstanding as a stylist. She is extremely professional and very skilled in providing haircuts. She is extremely pleasant to talk to and keeps you entertained with her conversations. I really enjoy her and recommend her for a great service!

I was in town for a wedding. I had not been pleased with several different mustache waxes I had purchased. I asked if they recommended any. I purchased one from their store they recommended, and it's all I use now. I didn't get groomed, and the product I purchased was not specific to their store or their brand, but I'm not sure how much more time and money I would have spent trying to find wax that worked for me if they didn't assist.

This is my husband's go to place for a haircut. They also offer other services such as massages and facials, which is great, cause when I'm in a pinch for a gift, all I do is get a gift card and my husband can get whatever he wants done to himself.

I've been here a few times and gotten my hair cut by Zach. He's always friendly and professional in what he does. He takes the time to analyze my hair and shape, and listen to my requests before cutting. Thus, it always turns out to be exactly the way I want and looks great. Though I have to say it is on the higher price point, but if you're comfortable with it, you won't be disappointed.

Friendly and great service. I started going here when i worked close by-- i continue to travel here even though i no longer work in the area. I highly recommend Kaley for a haircut. She is at the higher price point-- but worth it. I've been searching for YEARS to feel good about my haircut! They also offer manicures, pedicures, shaves, etc. I've only had great experiences as far as making appointments.

I came here for the first time 2 weeks ago for a facial with Christine and I must say it was absolutely amazing. I called and spoke with Tara and she was extremely helpful and talked me through all available options for facial. She set me up with Christine and It was great experience. Christine is very knowledgeable and will tell you everything you need to know in order to keep the your skin looking nice and healthy. I highly recommend a facial with Christine.

My Grooming Lounge experience was excellent! The warm greeting, the ice cold Stella Artois in the waiting area, the hair wash & scalp massage, the hot towel.all super relaxing. And the haircut was, without question, the best I've ever had. I'll be back!

This is for Tysons II. I feel a little bad leaving this review because I really like my stylist, but the front desk is so bad I suggest you not go here and get to liking a stylist. The front doesn't have the knowledge or skill to book appointments. See the other reviews where they say the front desk seems confused. It's like they have never seen the system, nor products, nor know the services they offer.

How can so many people say the same thing without it being accurate? They have made a mistake three times now. Once, making an appointment with the wrong stylist - mine wasn't there - I had driven to the salon. Second they called me the day before and said my stylist was unexpectedly out. I thought maybe she was sick, so I asked her when I did see her. No, she was on planned vacation with a month notice.

Third time they let me come all the way to the salon. "Doesn't work today, would you like to see someone else". If I am willing to see someone else, why wouldn't I do that somewhere else, which I did. Think you can make an appointment online? I thought if I did it myself I could bypass the front desk. Try it, the website has been broken for 4 days now.

Do not go here, if you have a good experience and like the person cutting your hair, they will not get it right so its not worth it. My only hope is my stylists leaves this poorly run salon.

I called to make an appointment for my husband and the lady I was speaking to Andy seemed a bit confused about the services when it came to what the different massages were and foot treatments. I gave this place one more chance after staying away for a year, and they can't even get my husband in for a Monday night appointment

After work I thought about getting a shave and a haircut at the Gentlemen's Lounge at Tyson's II. Part of me had a feeling that a shave and a haircut wasn't going to be two bits. Infact, the true cost was way to high to me. Normally $25 plus $10 tip does it. The place looks nice and one day I might give it a go. The staff cutting hair wear neck ties and identical outfits.

The women make the outfit look good. The staff at the counter were polite and greeted me with a smile. Every thing you might need was right there at the checkout counter. I'll come back to this place, but I just couldn't get my hair cut there today. I give this place 4 stars by how I was treated from the moment I entered the store.

Not only did Eve not know what a fade was when I requested it (should have known then) but I even showed her a picture of exactly what I looked like after getting my hair cut last time. She completely botched it. At no point did she stop and ask how it was. Never again.

Love this place! Pricey? Yes. People? Awesome! Beer? Yes. Stella! Sara is awesome. Super nice, really cool and does an amazing cut! Highly recommend treating yourself to the experience. The hot towel and shoulder massage is an added bonus at no extra cost.

I can't recommend Sara enough. You have to make an appointment with her early as she fills up quickly, but it's definitely worth it. She will make sure you are looking sharp. Grooming Lounge is a bit on the pricy side, but a free drink, hot towel and a quick back massage are also included. They also have a package of buy 5 and get one free to lower the price for regulars.

Hot Towels are good. Hot Lather Shave takes about an hour. My skin was left really smooth. Only gripe is the price. Almost 70-75 dollars with tip. They also trim your hair as well which is nice. If the price point was a tad lower I would come back more often rather than once or twice a year!

My opinion of The Grooming Lounge has slowly declined over the years. When they first opened, I loved the concept of a day spa for men complete with complimentary scotch on the rocks in the waiting room. While it still has the "feel" of a high end man cave with spa and hairstyling services, the experience falls flat due to service and sales pitches.

When I called to make my last appointment, the person answering the phones didn't seem familiar with their services and booked me for the wrong treatment and it's good thing I called back to double check with someone else. Gone are the complimentary alcoholic drinks, which was a nice touch they used to have. My treatment was supposed to last 75 minutes, but they took me about five minutes after my appointment time and wrapped up nine minutes early, so it only lasted about 60 minutes in reality. What's most annoying though is the constant pressure to buy product during and after your treatment.

I realize that many spas do this, but I don't need to have it pushed on me during the treatment itself. While I've had good massages and facials here, I'm not sure they were "wow" enough to keep me coming back and I was completely disappointed by the shave. For the price, you'd expect a straight razor shave, not a fancy disposable razor that gives you razor burn.

Thank you for keeping my husband's back smooth. When we began dating, I didn't realize that in just a few years, I'd be married to someone who'd morphed into a man-animal hybrid. He routinely stops in for his "treatment, " doesn't complain about pain, and the parades that smooth back around our home.

First time visit beats any other experience I've ever had. My visit today consisted of a business manicure and grooming lounge signature foot treatment. At first I was greeted by a young lady named Noor Who Was polite and very inviting, then escorted to a very modern waiting room and was offered a complementary beverage. After waiting for no more than about five minutes I was greeted by Maya Who is my treatment specialist for the next hour and 30 minutes. Maya was so kind, thorough and though she had other appointments made me feel as if I was the only one she had to attend to.

The grooming lounge is an all male location so you save yourself the awkwardness of being in a woman's nail salon for basic services. Maya's the reason I'd go back. Prices are very fair for the service. Everything was very clean including the tools used for manicure and pedicure came out of a sealed package. I highly recommend this location. Note that they are located on the third level closest to the Macy's wing.
