HSHC is an open-admission, no-kill shelter that currently operates in a county-owned building next to the Household Hazardous Waste Facility and 4H Fairgrounds in Noblesville. We've been out of space and resources for a decade. After 5 years of research and planning, our dream of building a world-class animal wellness center unlike any other in the state of Indiana, and one of the best in the United States, is now a reality. Meet our amazing Board of Directors and key staff who make it possible to run the only open admission, truly no-kill animal shelter in Indiana.
Paul Reis is an attorney and partner with Krieg Devault, LLP. He serves as Chair of the firm's Real Estate Practice Group. In practice for over 30 years, he has focused his career working with large and small businesses and municipalities in commercial and industrial real estate transactions and development, land use and zoning, urban redevelopment projects, contract negotiation and corporate governance and regulatory matters.
As an open-admission, truly no-kill shelter, we are always at capacity. So it only takes one big intake day, or a hoarding case, or the seasonal peaks we see with kitten season and before holidays, for us to find ourselves in a space crisis. On any given day, we might have more than 100 animals in foster homes!
We love matchmaking, especially the pet/people kind! Check our lists of adoptable dogs and adoptable cats frequently, and come visit the shelter to meet our animals. We encourage you to keep an open mind about dog vs. cat, breeds, coloring, age, temperament and other pre-conceived ideas about your "perfect pet."

They were courteous and professional. Even call me back 2 Days later to see if I found my cat or not. That's why I gave them five stars would be more if I could. Keep it up ladies and gentleman. Have a wonderful day

We had an amazing experience here! The facility is incredible! The animals were all well taken care of. The staff and volunteers were nothing short of excited and welcoming to us. We came in to find our second fur baby and left the same day with her! We were shocked that we could take her home the same day and bring her into our family! This is our second adoption from HCHS and we will forever return!

The staff are all so friendly, knowledgable, and focused on providing their animals with the best human matches possible. We met with one dog we thought might be a good fit for us but instead adopted another that was recommended based on our application and discussions that night. HSHC knew what they were doing! She is the perfect senior dog for our low-key lifestyle! Thank you so much HSHC for taking such good care of Darlene until we could bring her home for good!

I would give 0 stars if I could. This place is unprofessional with rude staff that are unwilling to work with you. I am currently looking to rescue a dog and I saw a beautiful puppy that I went in to visit. I explain my living situation and that I would have to stay with my parents for a month and that they have a dog prior to moving into my apartment.

They said okay fill out this application and I was so excited. I filled it out and waited for my name to be called and she said you can't meet her because we don't know her history with other dogs as she was a stray. My heart broke for that poor puppy. I completely understand this as I have grown up with dogs and have worked at a doggy day care and boarding place in the past in college.

They asked if there were any other dogs I wanted to see and I asked if I could go back and look. Keep in mind I was crushed after that response. I went back and looked keeping their response in mind. I came back out with the name of a dog that said it was okay with other dogs. I proceeded to get the same response. This happened once more and I was getting frustrated and upset.

They said to bring out a list of dogs that I was interested in and I got the same response for each one. Isn't it their job to safely help dogs become socialized? I sat in my car and cried for a good 30 minutes. All I want to give a dog a safe, loving, and happy home and they made that impossible. It broke my heart to leave and all they had to say was "ok sorry." I encourage you to go somewhere else and pray for these poor pups and cats. Worst experience of my life.

Found an older dog we loved. Super sweet. The paperwork said she was good w kids. It said they weren't sure about cats. Get to the front desk to ask questions.found out she's heartworm positive AND "fatally wounded a small dog". I'm pretty sure then that she should have been listed to go to a home without cats. And no small children. YIKES.

Absolutely beautiful facility and the staff were very nice. So happy that we got to adopt our beautiful boy. We changed his name to Charlie and he is right at home.

I can't speak for the environment or adoption experience here; however, I just recently applied to work there. Took the time to come in for an interview. When I got there the interviewer was nowhere to be found and late to meet me. Both people I spoke to seemed uninterested and didn't even shake my hand at the end of our conversation. I was told I'd hear back by the next midweek.

Never received a call nor an email. It took me logging onto indeed to see I was "not selected for the position". Extremely unprofessional and I'm glad I dodged a bullet working with people that have a general lackadaisical work ethic. I'll be sure to avoid your business in the future and not recommend you for rescue & rehab since I'm now employed with a highly reputable animal hospital. Thanks for wasting my time!

Brand new building, very clean and spacious. Visiting rooms for families to meet their pets. Staff was nice and helpful. We were allowed to come in just to visit and pet the animals. If you want to adopt, you should fill out an application because it stays good for 6 months and then it won't take extra time to process once you find the pet you want!

They Expanded into this new facility and its best I've seen. Great volunteers, clean facilities and cute cats and dogs. Highly recommended if you're wanting to adopt a cute healthy animal.
