I have yet to actually meet a veterinarian due to Covid, but the care provided by this clinic is amazing. I first took my pup there after moving to Durham when my dog got into a scuffle with a neighbor's dog and received a minor eye injury. As a new patient, they got my dog in early the next day and I was able to get her a full physical to establish care that day as well. Amazing!

Her second annual eval was also by herself, but the veterinarian called me while I was waiting in my car to go over her findings. She gave a very thorough evaluation with recommendations for follow up. I felt my dog was examined well by a qualified veterinarian who clearly knew her stuff! As I was waiting in my car, I noticed how gentle the various techs were the number of older and unwell dogs which they needed to retrieve from cars the parking lot. I now live 30 mins from Colony Park Vet, but I will gleefully drive this distance for the tremendous care received here.

I am really, really glad that Dr. Tom is back! She's a great vet and works hard to give my dogs the best experience possible. No iffy answers. Just solid medical advice that I trust.

I took my 15 year old dog here for the entire time I lived in Durham. He is old and has bad cataracts, so he has had a number of accidents where he has injured himself due to his poor eyesight. If I called with an urgent matter, they didn't make me schedule an appointment- I could drop my dog off and they would be seen that same day. This was really helpful when my dog lost the use of one of his legs temporarily due to an injury and another time when he woke up with a bad eye infection. I would highly recommend Colony Park because it's clear that they care about providing high quality service and also care about your pets.

I went to Colony Park because of the referral from a family member. Colony Park, thank you for making the vet visit the way it's supposed to be, stress-free! My previous Vet did not offer in room or curbside. I was so HAPPY when I found out that I would be able to have an "actual" appointment and not have to drop my dog off and leave him for several hours. At Colony Park it was easy getting an appointment when I needed it and the vet and the staff were very caring and professional. I would give 10 'S if I could.

We began visiting Colony Park in 2000 when we added our first puppy to our family, Bailey. We had received numerous recommendations, all of which were Colony Park Animal Hospital. This was Bailey's initial exam at 6 weeks and we continued to return to Colony Park for regular exams, teeth cleaning, illness events and now they care for our next two Peekapoo dogs, Bodie and Buddy. Exceptional doctors and staff. They are part of our family.

I love going to Colony Park, I completely trust them to give my dog the best care. I can tell Dr. McKinney truly cares about all her patients and goes above and beyond to answer any questions you may have. All of the staff I have encountered there are super friendly and helpful. They really care about all the pets that come in!

I have been taking my pets to Colony Park Animal Hospital for over 20 years. Simply the best! Dr. Klaitman is Georgii's vet but I have had nothing but good experiences with Dr. Hughes as well. Just a wonderful staff here.

I love this vet. I chose them as I have a senior dog and they were recommended for seniors. They have been my vet for about two years and always treat my dog really kindly and have made excellent recommendations for her treatment. they're very responsive on the phone and have always seen my dog quickly when I've needed them.

I have been a customer for 35 years, spanning 4 pets. The vets are very good. They push dental care really hard but otherwise are not hard sellers. My complaint is the office and grooming staff. I booked boarding and grooming (baths, brushing, nail trims) WEEKS in advance, jumped through all the electronic hoops, confirmed, etc. I drop them off and leave.

Before I was even off the plane, somebody called and left a message that all the grooming appointments were canceled with some lame excuse about them being scheduled with an assistant, not the groomer. blah blah blah. I'm really angry. I'm a busy person that doesn't have time to deal with poor customer service, cancelling appointments for no reason and having to rearrange everything after making appointments weeks in advance.

The vets have been good to my pets for 35 years but I'm ready to find another service. Don't go here for boarding or grooming. They are unreliable and won't tell you to your face when they are going back on their word. They will happily check your pets in and take your money though!

I had noticed my dog seemed to be having hearing problems. I moved into a new home about a month before the COVID-19 pandemic began, so I was able to stay home with her. Since she was in a new home, her "pattern" changed and the hearing trouble became more noticeable. I learned about the BAER hearing test online and Dr. Susanne Hughes at CPAH was 1 out of the only 2 in NC recommended on the national website.

I contacted CPAH, they were immediately responsive to my emails (during COVID-19), and I got scheduled within a week! The staff was SUPER friendly. Even though COVID-19 made me wait in the parking lot while my little girl was tested, I never felt uneasy. I was so grateful they were even OPEN so she could be tested! Dr. Hughes called my cell phone within 10 minutes of my dog entering CPAH with the test results, VERY FAST!

My dog was 100% deaf in both ears. Dr. Hughes was very patient with me (as I was blind sided) explaining that she was born deaf and gave me resources to help us move forward. I've needed to call on Dr. Hughes since, which I'm not a regular patient, and again. Dr. Hughes, herself, has responded quickly. I appreciate Dr. Hughes and her staff helping us enhance my dog's quality of life. CPAH is truly making a positive difference for animals and their families every day. Thank you.

I started taking my dogs to Colony Park initially because of it's proximity to my home (who doesn't like being able to walk your crazy dogs to the vet?) but I have been continually impressed by the care that the entire staff takes with my dogs. They know our dogs by name and you can tell our dogs enjoy going there. When we have had emergencies, I have always been able to get an appointment right away.

We use them for boarding and I find their prices to be less than other places in the area. During this past snowstorm, Colony Park staff sent me a video of my dogs playing in the snow and even let us pick the dogs up when the office was technically closed because they knew that we were walking distance to the office. It's that kind of care and concern that makes me feel good about having Colony Park take care of my precious pups.

Colony Park has provided great care to our dog for almost 10 years Their love and care for our pet comes through time and time again. Our most recent visit, our doggie stayed at Colony Park overnight. Its wonderful for us to have a place like Colony Park that provides a home away from home for our beloved pet when needed.

I have been taking my two dogs here for several months now. So far we have used the boarding service, routine vet checks, dental cleaning and some minor surgery. I have been very pleased. All of the staff I have interacted with have been great and very competent. Dr. McKinney is our regular vet. She is thorough and very gentle with my cocker spaniels. She explains everything clearly. I highly recommend these folks!

Started seeing these vets after they were recommended by a friend who is a longtime client. We've seen all of the doctors there, and all are terrific; so is the staff. I find prices to be very reasonable and care comprehensive. Really happy I found them.

I really appreciated the staff friendliness and their communication skills. We recently moved across country. They offered conservative and effective treatment for our dog. I was a bit worried that they would push for X-rays but she just mentioned that if this treatment didn't work we'd look at that next. I don't feel like anything unnecessary was done and my dog was feeling much better the very next day. I'm so happy to have found such a kind vet.

My husband and I have been taking our pets to Colony Park for 25 years. The entire staff has always been kind, thoughtful and professional. Dr. McKinney has been our vet for the last several years and has always taken as much time as needed to explain things and listen to our concerns. I highly recommend this practice and wouldn't trust our doggies with anyone else.

Dr Klaitman is the best! Kind, compassionate, and great with my dog. I did not realize how wonderful she truly is until I met Dr McKinney when my dog had a leg injury and Dr Klaitman was out of the office. Dr McKinney is rude, judgmental, a know it all, and uncaring in my opinion. My dog had seen Dr Klaitman for her annual check-up the week before and all was well.

However in the leg injury appointment, Dr McKinney went on to disrespect her colleague to me and tell me that my dog shouldn't be on her food (that Dr Klaitman said was fine) and that my dog needed to lose 10 lbs (while Dr Klaitman said 5). So not only is Dr McKinney rude, she's a dog fat shamer! Also, while examining my dog, she was very awkward in handling her, and my dog was shaking like crazy and very nervous.

Never does this happen with Dr Klaitman! While my dog was extremely nervous, Dr McKinney did not once reward her with a small treat like Dr Klaitman does. Dr McKinney went on disrespect Dr Klaitman by telling me all the things that were wrong with Dr Klaitman's recommendations for my dog. I can't write what I really think about Dr McKinney because it would not be approved by Yelp! My recommendation to those interested in Colony Park Vets, is to always see Dr Klaitman and never Dr McKinney. You don't need her sass!

We've been bringing our dogs and cats here for decades - for standard checkups as well as a variety of health problems. Knowledgeable and caring doctors - easy to recommend.

I felt I got mediocre care for a very high price at CPAH. I recently moved to the area and needed to get my cat caught up on her vaccines and have another minor issue checked out on her. While I got all this accomplished, I wasn't particularly impressed with the care she received. I also felt I was presented with some treatment options that may not have been necessary, and was not given the prices up front.

When I called to make an appointment I got a "rough estimate" of the price of my visit, and ended up paying $100 more than I was quoted. Of course, my pet is worth the extra $100, but I did feel slightly taken advantage of. Also, the woman that greeted me at the front desk was friendly enough to me, but very rude to the customer in front of me. She thought he had skipped ahead of me in line, but he actually hadn't. Overall, the care was fine but not great, the staff was not overly friendly, and the prices were higher than I have ever paid at a vet in other states. I don't think I'll be returning to Colony Park.

I recently started taking my dog to Colony Park after I moved to the area. My brother-in-law recommended Colony Park and they have been taking good care of his senior Chow mix for some time. The staff at the front desk are always friendly, the doctors I've seen are warm, friendly, and kind. They have a Web portal where you can keep track of your pets medications and vaccinations, and they send you e-mail reminders whenever you're due to come in for a checkup.

Overall I have enjoyed my experiences with Colony Park and I recommend them to people who are looking for a vet. In addition, they offer a free initial exam when you adopt a pet from the Durham Co. Animal Shelter - that makes me love them even more!

My dog has a record. She was the runt of her litter, so she has had quite the laundry list of issues over her short six years. Luxating Patellas, Epilepsy, Bladder Stones. PLUS, Chihuahuas are generally stressed out, so picking a vet that we are both comfortable at is never an easy task. We tried this place out on recommendation from our house's previous homeowners, and since they had good taste on the house, I decided to give them a try.

I came in prepared with a pre-printed patient sheet and all of the medical history I could get my hands on, and the staff was awesome about it. They ran off copies and made sure I got my originals back, and the techs and vet spent lots of time informing me about what they were doing and why they were doing it. Since she has epilepsy, she is on drugs on a regular basis - they made sure to get me a list of pharmacies near my home so I could get the right dosage at a reliable place. :) I got a call the NEXT DAY on her test results! Seriously, that was awesome.

Not only because they were good results, but because that's faster than I get a call back for MY test results! :) The only downers - its a little smelly, and a little pricey. I paid $15 to get my dog's nails trimmed?! That's almost as much as getting MY nails trimmed (and polished!).
