Being in the pet industry as an animal care technician for 30 years, Betty was aware of the need for a place that pet owners could comfortably leave their pet when they had to be away. In mid 1997, we began construction of a long dream, the boarding kennel of Heidanes Hidden Timbers. We started with 12 indoor / outdoor runs, and our goal was to have the pets that came to stay with us treated as we would want OUR pets treated if they had to be left for a while.By 1998, we were so busy that we added another 8 runs, and enclosed our training room to facilitate the grooming that was needed.

Our dogs are like our children, which is why parting ways with our furry friends to go on vacation can be emotional and difficult. Luckily, there are several precautions that can be taken to make sure that both you and your dog are prepared for boarding. It is important to make sure that your dog is comfortable and well-behaved around other people.
Over the years Betty and her team have met many pets that for one reason or another aren't "normal". They are "Special Needs Pets", in the fact that they have behavioral issues, medical needs or are senior pets. Pets can have behavioral issues such as aggression, or anxiety. Many develop medical issues and need medication such as diabetes, thyroid, kidney failure, or epilepsy.
At Heidanes Hidden Timbers, we groom any and all pets by appointment, from the smallest kitten to very large dogs. We have facilities for baths, haircuts and a special procedure called the "Shedless Furminator", which really does help your pet shed a lot less! We do grooming almost any day of the week, and you can schedule your pet to have his grooming done during a stay at the kennel, too.
Children are future pet owners, and we at Heidane's love to educate kids about pet care! We offer educational trips both at and away from the kennel that are appropriate for approximately 4 year olds to the fifth grade level. It includes a bite prevention demonstration, a talk on pet care, and of course, a tour of the facilities. We also have dogs that perform some obedience and agility fun for entertainment.

I will recommend this establishment to anyone looking for great care of their fur babies! We have boarded and had our dogs groomed here and they do a great job. They always send home a report card to let you know how they did and also have left a scarf on them to add a little bit of spice to their look!

Betty and her crew are always on point with the care of my boys. The pups come home clean and happy and tired. Even now that one needs medication daily I don't worry (much) while we are gone because I know they are safe and being loved on. We drive an hour from home to use Heidanes because they have fully earned our trust!
