I would not recommend this dog walker. We recently found out that they use pinch collars with prongs on their client's dogs without the consent of their owner. The collar inflicts pain and was used on our 7month old St Bernard puppy without our knowledge or consent. Hooves Paws Tails & Claws claimed that they had experience with walking large dogs (this was one of our first questions in the interview) and we were told it would not be a problem.

There was no communication to us that there was any problem and they unprofessionally took it upon themselves to make a decision to use a "training collar" on our animal. We would have never condoned the use of such a painful (in my opinion and the opinion of a vet and several trainers) contraption. The only way we found out it was being used was because it was left behind by accident in our home.

When asked about the use of the collar we were informed that they had difficulty walking the puppy that week and the owner of the company instructed the dog walker to use the painful collar as the solution. We were never told of the difficulty they were having with walking her nor was our permission asked to use such a controversial method on our puppy.

Bottom line: it was not your call to make the judgment to use anything on our dog other than what was provided. If you had a problem or difficulty it was to have been communicated to us and we are in charge of making that decision.
