The Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County originally chartered in 1968 and underwent reorganization from 1997 to 1998. Charles Hand, a local businessman, rented to the Humane Society a building for seven years from which we could conduct sheltering operations. Contrary to popular belief, the Humane Society is not "funded" by the city or county, and sadly, the expense of caring for the rising number of homeless animals in our community far exceeded our income, which forced us to close our doors in 2003.

NO-SHOW POLICY: As a courtesy to our staff who depends on a full day of surgeries and to clients who are trying to get their pets in to be fixed ASAP, please provide at least 24 HOURS NOTICE by phone, phone message, or email if you must cancel your pet's appointment. NO-SHOW CLIENTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO PAY A NON-REFUNDABLE $25 PRIOR TO APPOINTMENT CONFIRMATION.

Surgeries are scheduled Monday-Thursday by appointment only. Book online or call us at 931-542-2282. If you are later than 7:45 am, you may be asked to reschedule to a different day. NOTE: If you need an appointment sooner than our online calendar provides, we recommend that you book a date provided.
The HSCMC's low-cost spay-neuter voucher program has provided surgeries for over 9,500 animals since 2004, and we could not have done it without the help of upwards of 15 veterinary clinic partners! Our high volume clinic will enable us to fix nearly 6,000 per year, which will help us reduce overpopulation, suffering, and euthanasia in our community by leaps and bounds!

This business has a program for people that have spayed/neutered dogs and cats and are having a hard time with dog food and cat food expenses and cat litter. They gave me 50 lbs of dry cat food, a huge container of litter and kitten food along with a 30 lb bag of grain free dog food. This was a blessing! Thank you so much Humane Society of Clarksville!

This place is very inexpensive to get an animal vaccinated spayed or neutered I highly recommend. There is a line in the morning which did take about 30 to 45 minutes I was also able to pick my animal up before 4 my babies are at home healing and they are happy I highly suggest getting her animals done by them

I had my cat Stewart neutered through their low cost spay/neuter program and they did a great job! He came home and recovered very well! They do great work with the stray cats around the area, have a pet food bank, and so many other programs to help those who are struggling financially and stray cats and dogs! These guys really care about the animals and will treat your pet like their own! Highly recommend! Thank you all for all the amazing work you do for the animals in our community!
