Humane Society Of Missouri Why do you spay or neuter the animals? There is a tremendous pet overpopulation problem in the US. Every year millions of healthy, well-behaved animals are euthanized because no homes are available for them. Not only does spaying and neutering prevent more litters of homeless pets, but Missouri state law requires that ALL cats and dogs adopted from an animal shelter be spayed or neutered.
Services
Horses, cows, goats, potbellied pigs and other animals at our Longmeadow Rescue Ranch in Union, MO are available for viewing Fridays and Saturdays from noon-3 p.m., but visitors are required to make a reservation to visit.
If you suspect an animal is being abused or neglected, contact the Humane Society of Missouri Animal Cruelty Task Force with the address (or detailed directions to location) where animal(s) can be found, and a detailed description of the neglect or abuse. Allegations of physical abuse require a witness name and contact number.

This facility was beyond my expectations of an animal shelter! I seriously have never been to a animal facility that had absolutely no smell and was so clean! The animals were all clean, and had available food and water. I was visiting from out of town. It was a Saturday and out the blue I decided to stop in and take a peek. I was greeted promptly at the door by staff.

Given a mask and welcomed to freely walk the facility.i was told to take my time and if I needed anything they would be happy to help. This experience has stayed with me and I find my self telling everyone I talk to about animals how impressed and highly recommend this facility is. My visit was over a month ago but its stuck with me as a memorable experience. Most definitely worth coming back to Google map and leaving my experience!

I was impressed by the quality of the volunteers. I brought home a cat who is adorable. The process was fairly quick and painless. I am very happy with Moses, my new cat.

Everyone was super nice, but our kitten has herpes also known as FVR and had worms. Which neither were disclosed to us when we adopted him. We knew something was off because he had lost a pound in their care and we noticed wheezing after we had gotten home. He is a beautiful baby and deserved better care. We got him at 3 months old he is now 6 months and thriving.

We've surrendered two dogs here now. One, Ash, we knew would have to be put to sleep. The other, socks, we hope for a better outcome with. The place is clean. There's actually more space here than at the APA. Much of the staff here is pleasant. Though there was one lady who was more interested in taking a break than in helping the people coming in or the dogs being brought in.

With that said we ended up with a really sweet, caring lady that kept saying how sweet socks is. We appreciate this lady more than she realizes. She helped to make a very unpleasant experience, bearable.

I just have to say that one kf the best dogs I've ever had the privilege of knowing I received from this location until his passing. What wonderful organization and the volunteers veterinary care is a stand up place who care and save animals everyday. I could not say enough good about this place except one other thing is consider volunteering donation and make a difference.

The process was so easy. The adoption was so fun, but at times was very hard to to choose. My adorable pup is so sweet and loveable. She is my forever pet/family member.

They are very good in keeping COVID19 safe protocols. I was able to order and pick up my dog's medicine with little contact. The large signs posted in the parking lot made it easy to follow instructions.

We found the best loving sweethearted kind dog from this location. The fact is I'm not a dog person, with that said, I'm getting married and my fiance really wanted a dog so that was a compromise and she is now part of a loving family because of how good of a dog she is. Everyone was nice and got us in pretty quick without an appointment which was my fault. You have to make an appointment! But they were nice enough to let us see buttercup our new beautiful amazing dog.
