Lynchburg Humane Society

This organization is extremely well run with great care for animals and their mission of rehoming animals. We were able to see kittens online and email team members to ask questions. They will email or call you back with a positive and professional response. They require an online application that requires approval in order to offer the best of care for their animals.

On arrival, we saw an excellent facility with trained team members. Their kittens were thoroughly examined, given needed shots and chipped as appropriate. It was very busy and many animals were adopted as we were there. We especially liked seeing older animals being adopted. They have a foster program to socialize and care for their animals. Mackenzie and Sydney were knowledgeable and professional and answered about 100 question with a smile of encouragement. This was a very well managed and operated organization. We could not recommend them more. Well done, all.

Nice people, and very nice and lonely animals, looking for a pet try here first. Always have nice cats and friendly dogs, sometimes they may have rabbits.

My fiance and I went back in October for one kitten.needless to say we came home with two! From the moment we walked in I knew we'd be leaving with a new family member. The facility itself was so clean and so nice. The staff were all so friendly. Bringing home both babies was a thought of ours but was ultimately confirmed when one of the staff members mentioned us doing so. Turned out to be an amazing idea, these two are obsessed with each other and our pup!

Never been to a humane society so humane! It's beautiful clean and spacious. Friendly and courteous staff. Hopefully they get puppies soon. Son turned 4 yesterday and no puppies was a bummer but still had to give 5 stars

Lots of cat rooms to sit and socialize with the cats. The outside trails were nice. I did 1.1 miles of the trails. There were a few loops to choose from. Very nice facility. Kind workers, although they were running around so fast I didn't want to bother anyone and I was not sure what the rules were. The cats seemed ok that I didn't know any rules. I would like to add one more thing- Cat.

I had a wonderful experience here adopting my first dog. I got my application approved in advance and made the 2.5 hour drive up on a Saturday morning, and got there right when they opened. I got to spend time in a large room with the dog I was interested in and the staff had lots of notes on him and were very honest about his past. He was a good fit for me so I was able to bring him home that day. Everyone was very helpful and nice, and the process took about 45 minutes or so. If I'm looking for a furbaby in the future I will definitely return!

We have rescued most of our 4 legged family members from here. They are a no kill shelter and we would definitely recommend you look here first if you are looking to add to your family!

The staff is professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. The facility itself is definitely new and clean and it's very clear that this place is designed to give a healthy temporary home to both cats and dogs. There are several rooms and areas that you can use to get to know your potential pet, and the staff will gladly work with you to find your perfect pet.
