I've been meaning to write this review forever because I've been bring my two dachshunds to Marilyn for years and she and her daughter Rachel are the best! I saw someone had commented on the location of the kennel and let me tell you I would much rather have my dogs stay someplace where they would be safe and not have to worry about traffic. Marilyn is strict for a reason and that is what we like about her keeping our boys.
She only thinks of the dogs and you never have to worry as long as they are under her care. We take are dogs to Manderin Pet care from the beach and pass quite a few other boarding kennels along the way but always continue to take our dogs here.

My two girls needed somewhere to stay during Irma because both my boyfriend and I had to work and I just couldn't keep them home alone during the hurricane. I am a first responder and he is law enforcement so it called for very long hours! I called mandarin pet care and Marilyn was able to accommodate both of my girls in an instant! She kept them for as long as I needed (until my power came on)!
She is wonderful and I am so appreciative of her! She hand walked my lab because she is a fence jumper! She takes so much pride in her work! Kenzie and Loretta will be back for more stays at Mandarin pet care!

Should have took heed from the other negative reviews here and elsewhere! She is not even reputable as she only takes cash so the IRS can't audit her makeshift kennel. Made a reservation for the holiday as they were the only boarders not completely booked (should've got the hint). While on the phone I told her my dog doesn't get along with other animals, but loves people.
Upon check-in the owner Marilyn asked me if my dog was pet friendly. I told her no, only people friendly. She then said, "oh that's right I remember you saying that on the phone". Wish I can copy and paste her text message communication here, but I am unable. Glad my dog only stayed 1 day. Would never use or recommend anyone who cares for their pet to use this lady service!

We visited this facility today and unfortunately regret doing so. The place is unmarked as a business and is in a residential district and therefore we knocked on the door to make sure we were in the right place. The lady peeked trough the window untrustworthily and we had to speak to her through her window screen. Finally, she reluctantly opened the door, was very cold and just plain rude.
First thing she demanded from us is why didn't we call. I told her we did so, however no one answered. She refused to show us the facility and said "dogs are now napping, come back in 2 hours". (I didn't realize that this was a boot camp regiment, as our dog doesn't take mandatory naps and prefers to play outside with others.)She demanded we make an appointment and look on her website. Honestly, first impressions are everything and if this is how we were treated as people, can only imagine what our pup would endure.

I was so happy I found Mandarin Pet Care! It's in a quiet location, has a ton of land surrounding it where my dogs get hand walked, and only has a select number of employees, so I KNOW who is taking care of my pets! I have tried other kennels in the past, but I will definitely be a returning customer at Mandarin Pet Care. When I picked up my dogs, I was so surprised!
At other kennels, my pooch will RUN at me to get away from the kennel as quickly as possible. Not here! My puppy kept trying to get back into the kennel to spend more time with his friends! I felt like prying my child away from a great summer camp : Highly recommended

My family has known Marilyn for 15+ years, first through training service dogs and then while boarding our pets. I'm writing this review because I was looking up the hours and saw the poor misinformed, and seemingly presumptive, reviews that were posted. Before I give my accolades, I'd like to address a few of these comments: Marilyn has strict hours for drop off and pick up.
It makes sense so the dogs aren't being disturbed all the time from dogs coming and going. One of my dogs is a bit timid so she doesn't like boarding in general. Being around so many other dogs was difficult the first time, but now she is fine going there. This isn't an expensive luxury resort but Marilyn and the staff care about the dogs and take them out several times per day, and more than most boarding places.
I can't complain. Marilyn is often booked out so there are obviously many others that agree with me when I say that I know I can trust Marilyn and her staff to take good care of our pets.

I've left my dogs hee before and it's been ok they're close to my house so I like it. Today I called because I was not going to make the window to leave them at 6pm and asked the lady if it could be ok to leave them at 6:30pm for sure because of a meeting a have at WORK(which I need to be able to pay her) and her reaponse was "Well what do you want me to say" and then proceded to laugh.
It is very easy what you could have said well I would have to charge extra which I would have been more thant fine with it. It's cheap but owner is not the most friendly person. Feel bad for her employees.

Don't feel that I could recommend this place to anyone, dog came home extremely frightened and skittish. Dog was whimpering and scared when the owner was holding him on the leash to bring him out. Yes it is cheap but you get what you pay for! Don't feel that my dog received the best care here will not be going back. Reply to owners comment- There was no temperament test when dropping the dog off at all.
The owner was very short with us. She said our dog "barked too much". When we showed up to pick up our dog there were lots of dogs running around except for ours. She went to get him out of a house that we were not allowed to enter! Who knows what was going on. He was about 5 months old and she had nothing but complaints about him. He was very dehydrated.
I understand that everyone has different experiences but with dogs aside the owner was horribly rude and there is no excuse for that. We took our dog to Pet Paradise a week later and our experience was completely opposite. He was playing with all the other dogs and didn't show any signs of distress. We are also treated respectfully every time.
