Probably the coolest theater I've ever seen. Beautifully rehabbed and true to the original design, this gorgeous Art Deco theater features soaring ceilings, statues in many theaters and impressive layouts. Oh yeah and tickets are $7-9. Do not pass this place up, it's an experience in itself!

It's an modernized 86 year old theater. Very clean with many old school ways. You buy a ticket at the window located in front of the building or reserve online seating. Snacks and drinks are about the same as any other place. The difference in this place is the movie room. Long about 40 rows but only 14 seats to a row. Every seat is basically the middle. Single flip down seats that are newly renovated. The farther back you sit the smaller the screen. Row R down is a better view.

This is a very nice movie theater.even if the chairs don't recline lol. They have free refills for drinks and popcorn. However, they're not always equipped with the toppings and sides that go with popcorn. I mean, come on guys.it's a movie theater for Pete's sake! All in all, it's my daughter's favorite theater to frequent. We just bring our own seasonings now

Cool little Theater that's been a staple in Downtown Oak Park. Movies here are very affordable. Most mantiees are around $6 til 2p. That's a great deal. especially for new releases.

Great neighborhood movie theater, with multiple movie screen/auditorium configuration. Film selection is quite varied, running the gamut from Day One blockbusters to extended-run indie films. PROS: A) Pricing is very affordable; with any Matinee Showing (before 6PM) being $7. Otherwise, Adult tickets are $9, while Children cost $7. B) Snacks are less expensive than large chain theaters; theater seats and floors are quite clean due to patron responsibility and crew members working to keep areas devoid of garbage. CONS: A) Parking can be hit or miss due to the busy nature of Lake Street in Oak Park.

There is a free parking lot no more than a 3-5 minute walk from the theater entrance. B) There is no extra-modern stadium seating, with reclining chairs, etc. It is a change of pace from the $18 ticket megaplex theater experience. Both types of cinema venue have a place in the modern entertainment world.

We saw "Cyrano" here last Saturday Night in this charming Theatre in an eclectic section of Oak Park. Thos Theatre houses many Screens and is much bigger inside than it looks from the outside. The Large Popcorn was very good but that should be expected for the $8 price. Very good Dolby sound system and comfortable seats. We will definitely be back.

*** UPDATE: They do now have the assigned seating but everything else remains the same: cozy seats, great prices, and good crowd. Psst. you can goto any of the many local restaurants beforehand to get a cocktail or 2. Just be aware that you'll feel so comfy that you might not want to leave when they movie is done. Great cozy place to see the latest movies without the huge rowdy crowds.

Reasonable evening and matinee prices. Specials. The new leather seats may not recline but sure are comfy. No wasting time selecting a seat when people are gonna sit wherever they want anyway. I'm happy they have not adopted the seat selection policy as of yet. Been coming here since high school. Love it! And if you time it just right, you can still find street parking leftover from the early dinner crowd. I did!

It was really old fashioned looking and even after we were done the movie someone offered us a mint on the way out.

I had enjoyed coming to this theater for more than 20 years. But this time it was super special. I treated my older sister and myself to the showing of It's a Wonderful Life. It was our first time watching it in a theater. It was just magical. The audience broke in applause as soon as it started. Can't wait to next year showing and the celebration of the 75th anniversary of that beautiful movie! Also, I may ad, that the free refills on soda and popcorn are a sweet deal.

Happy to be back at the movies since COVid. Classic Cinemas Lake Theater updated ticket pricing $6 Adult Matinee or $8.50 evening, Children/Seniors $6. Still a great deal for comfy seats, not too crowded theaters and great sound. Food and beverages are standard fare with Free refills on all popcorn and drink sizes. Enjoyable for the whole family.
