Marshall Grain Marshall Grain Company is dedicated to making the organic gardener a successful gardener. We believe that means delivering personalized service across the full spectrum of lawn-and-garden services. Whether you are a "Do-It-Yourselfer" who's seeking a quick organic gardening product solution, a homeowner looking for full-scale landscape design and installation, or someone with long-term organic maintenance needs - we're here to help.

In addition, our huge plant nursery is stocked with Texas Natives and adapted plants that will thrive in our harsh North Texas climate, as well as in-season herbs and vegetables, tropicals and houseplants.
Services
Texas gardens are demanding. At Marshall Grain we work hard to boost your success by selecting the best quality plants available, with an emphasis on bringing you a wide variety of "Texas tough" choices for your garden. Our extensive Grapevine, TX plant nursery offers a great seasonal selection of trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, tropicals, and specialty plants - even miniature plants for fairy gardens!
Organic gardening is fundamentally different from traditional methods. Organics nurture the soil and help it absorb and retain moisture longer. So over time, it will reduce the need for water and fertilization, which will save you money! Compared to traditional methods that attempt to force plants to grow, the goal of organic gardening is to create a healthy, well-balanced eco-system.
Organic fertilizers enrich your soil with fresh macro-nutrients and organic matter needed to feed your plants. Bio stimulants are beneficial bacteria, fungi and other microorganisms that work together with your organic fertilizer to enhance root development and nutrient uptake as well as moisture retention.
Organic insect and disease controls offer gardeners a way to protect their vegetables, flowers and other plants from damage while ensuring that our edibles are safe to eat and that we are doing minimal harm to our pollinators and the environment. Today, it's not only possible, but more affordable to apply organic products versus chemical ones.

Joyce is married to the owner so of course she would stand behind this place. I'm not disgruntled, just very disappointed I did not get paid for all the work I did. If they were so unhappy, why do I have so many customers asking ME why they won't contact them?

Love this shop! They have a great selection of plants (some I haven't seen anywhere else before) on top of having products/brands that Lowe's or home depot do not carry. They have Shop Cats (bios for the the cats are listed on their website and are super cute! Definitely worth the read) that roam the store and garden center, as well as pet sections (dog, cat and horse).

I think my favorite part, though, is that they sell ladybugs and beneficial nematodes! Everything was very reasonably priced. Definitely got a homey/welcoming vibe from the place. I will definitely be back!

Horrible company to work with. They're crooks. Reply: You've already had multiple chances to make this right Jim, but you decided to be petty and take advantage. This is your review, it will not change, you've earned it.

I've been shopping at Marshall Grain for years! I love that they sell organic herbs/veggie plants, organic soil and other organic gardening products. At a recent visit I thought; did ya'll just receive notice that your store will be closing soon? did someone (employee, manager, owner) recently die? The vibe was NOT one of YAY, it's finally SPRING; it was depressing!

I observed: -entry way sidewalks and mats in need of sweeping/vacuuming -indoor plant tables in need of Spring Cleaning -indoor house plants in need of TLC -retail shelves in need of Spring Cleaning (dust, dirt, cobwebs) -and it didn't appear they are short on help, as many stores are these days. What's going on Marshall Grain?

Not the store it used to be. I waited 11 days for a tree delivery and kept getting the run around. I think they may have sold my tree and were waiting for another to come in? I called to just cancel it, and they didn't make any effort to keep my business. I guess I'll shop at their competitor.

We love this place. We get our vegetable plants here every year. The staff are always friendly and informative. The plants are in good condition. The prices are usually reasonable. Today, they are frustrated, as we. They ordered plenty of vegetable plants, but none have come in. No one knows what the hold up is, but they expect the plants will arrive any day now. We will be back as soon as the plants arrive. Best place in town to get them.

I Have to respond. I ASKED for EVERGREENS. After all this happened, I asked Cheryl Beasley if the plants were all evergreen. NO, they were mostly perenials which I did not want around the front of my yard. 1 year later. Evergreens are alive and well even after this year weather which hasn't been as severe. Why would I give them 50% more money of the original price to replant what I didn't want, perenials, to begin with.

I did ask them to replace 2 plants that they damaged in the planting and 1 died. I added 3 small bushes, evergreens, which I paid $217.00. They didn't plant them properly as I asked. If I could give them -5, I would. I know this company & have bought their plants at their store. Completely different from my experience here. They are very expensive.

Not worth it. But the issue is not store purchases so much as it is their landscaping service. Worst communication. Didn't listen to what I asked for. My landscape looked worse than when we started. And it was 8 THOUSAND DOLLARS. I have to completely replace since the ice storm because they mis informed and misguided us. I asked for evergreens and got perennials.

Yes I got pictures of plants first. But the landscaper sent pictures of what the plants would look like in 2 years. The ones I got were too small to survive winter. They didn't honor the perenial replacement in the terms and conditions. Beware and get it all in writing. Their mulch came with weeds to the planted areas that I have never had before.

In the landscape process the plant were not planted deep enough. I regret that I ever hired the landscape person on their staff. Obviously the owner only cares about the money. Never reached out to me for a positive result. I am an owner operater of my business so I do know how to handle situations that can be difficult. They turned their back on us.

I love this place! They love dogs and have a great selection of food, treats, and accessories. Their veggies, transplants/seedlings, are the best and sold at a good price. Google shows I have only been there once. Not quite right. They offer gardening classes and have live-streamed during the pandemic. I am thrilled to find items for organic gardening at good prices. Take a look at this photo from a December fundraiser for a dog. No fee but donations accepted. Good people run this place!

I bought two 1 gallon outdoor plants. they did not make it until i could get them in the ground. i kept them watered, they are texas hardy and drought resistant plants. most nurseries stand behind their plants. i brought them in to get an exchange since these obviously had an issue when bought. theres no reason they should have croacked unless they were unhealthy to begin with. they would not give me an exchange. very, very, disappointed in this place. in a time when businesses really need the business, im surprised at you. im a good customer, WAS. i used to like this place, even over looked the fact that your inventory has dwindled and not as friendly of customer service as awhile back. try to keep your customers happy, thats what brings them back. tsk tsk tsk

My wife and I just went to look around based on previous reviews. We have a 100 sq ft garden and two dogs and a cat so wanted to see the offerings of MGC. We were impressed with the quality of the products but what impressed me the most was the knowledgeable and friendly staff. Joyce in particular took extra time to talk to us about the plants they have and what might be best for our yard. I was very happy with the service we received!

Designer did not incorporate any of our feedback into her design, turn over run of the mill stabdard design with her own recommendations over ehat we asked for. They dont give you the design so be careful working with them, you could end up spending money that you pay upfront and get literally nothing for your money.

Loved this place! An unlikely name for a nursery, I always thought it was a feed store until I searched on Yelp for Nurseries in the Grapevine area and this place popped up. It is in a former Calloways spot, to give you an idea on the size of the place. They have a great selection of plants at competitive prices and lots of friendly and helpful staff. And keeping true to their name, they also have a pretty impressive selection of dog and cat foods!

I won't be back! It's Winter. Birdseed is needed. After stopping by three times I won't return. They used to have a 40 bag of safflower seed. Not anymore. Not sure who does the ordering there but I don't think they do a very good job. If you're out of something you'd think you would reorder it especially if a customer needs something. Not there. And when questioned their tone turns rude. There are other better supplied and friendlier establishments to spend money at.

I got excited when I heard from a fellow plant person that this place had stromanthe triostars but unfortunately when I got here they did have a mealie bug infestation. I couldn't find one outside that didn't have mealie bugs : It was a good deal for the plant, it was only 10.99 But I was too nervous about risking an infestation with my plants at home so I did not buy.

I suggest just taking a good look at the plants here before you buy. They did have a wide variety but just be careful and quarantine any plants you do bring home to avoid bringing home any pests.

Beyond pleased with the landscaping just completed by Marshall Grain! Had been looking for a company to complete a simple job for months and thankful I came across this company. Cheryl, the designer, was an absolute pleasure to work with. From the beginning she got what I was looking for and presented a design that exceeded what I even had in mind. Took a day and half to complete, and the guys left the yard in just as good of condition than they found it. Can't wait for all the plantings and trees to grow and fill up the space. Will certainly be using them for future landscaping needs.

I wanted to start this off with saying this was not an easy review to write, as it's the first time I've ever given a business a 1-star. I purchased over $250 worth of products from the store, one of which was a set of gardening gloves for $10. I was sold a defective product as the gloves were both R-handed. I understand that mistakes can be made and if the inventory was not checked, that Marshall Grain would be able to remedy the problem.

As I don't have access to a car, I tried using the gloves for a small task and was scraped on my left hand. I do not have a vehicle to drive back to the store immediately, so I ended up walking to a nearby store to get gloves that were a proper set and protective. The next day, we took the gloves to Marshall Grain to return them and were turned away.

I called to talked to a sales associate and they were rude, raised their voice at me several times, and told me repeatedly in a raised voice that "I needed to read their policy on the back of the receipt" as they could not give me a left handed glove if I used the product. The gloves were in gently used condition and still look new (see photos). In addition, there is no policy posted on the back of their receipt - I checked all 4 of my receipts.

I don't know of any other business that would not accept fault for selling a defective item and not try to remedy the situation. I wasn't asking for a refund, but to receive the product which I was thought I was being sold. Instead, I did not receive the goods I purchased - a pair of gardening gloves. I usually like to shop local and wanted to go to Marshall Grain because of their history, instead of going to a larger shop.

My family will not shop here again. I'm not sure what was happening in the store that day, but the sales clerk was beyond rude. I also talked to the Manager, and it is clear Marshall Grain's policies are not written to build business or value relationships with customers. I don't want to be business with any small or large business that treats their customers like this and doesn't accept responsibility or right a wrong.

I will never buy another thing at this place. Terrible customer service and policies cause me to write this review. I purchased several plants here to have them die after 6 days. And the stores policy is to not replace or exchange them. There are so many other stores to buy the exact same plants I purchased here that I will never shop there again.

So much for supporting local businesses. The assistant manager couldn't have been more unprofessional handling this issue to boot. Hope other's have better luck then I did! Boooo Marshall Grain in Grapevine

It is a convenient location off the hwy. They do carry some hard to find plants such as certain line of Proven Winners perrenials, verbena, lamb ears, and dwarf butterfly bush. They have an extensive collection of coral bells and hostas. I would say their annuals are slim compared to Calloways. I dock off a star since their prices are higher compared to other nursery (Calloways, Flower Ranch, Landscape System). But, I hope they would continue to get more Proven Winners and maybe some climbing roses or fragrant flowers like Gardenias

The prices for gardening stuff is okay. The prices for dog chews is high. The staff is going to be a crap shoot. Some are helpful and friendly, some not. And I'll warn you now, they have cats that roam around and the smell inside is pretty bad. The do have dog food brands that are very high quality though.

Love Marshall Grain, the staff here are always super helpful and nice - they really know what they're talking about and go out of their way for you. Every plant I've ever bought there has done really well, too. Never making the mistake again of going to Home Depot just because it's close! Should have known better and just gone back to Marshall Grain, better prices there too and obviously if the plants are healthy and last, an even better bargain.

Absolutely the worst retail experience I have ever had. I called and inquired about some fertilizer to see if they had a sale going on. In the past they always seem to have a sale each week. It was 6:18pm and the lady (which I say questionably due to her attitude) who answered was very hateful and rude and wouldn't even answer my basic questions.

She did go on and say they closed at 6:00, so of course I couldn't resist and asked then why did you answer if you were closed and her response was she gets tired of hearing the phone ring. I think she needs to be promoted and relocated to stand guard over the Fertilizer Isle Permanently where she would have limited contact with the public. I guess its time for us to go back to Foremans where your appreciated as a customer.

We like this store a lot, my son is a huge fan because they have two cats around the store and he likes to go on a scavenger hunt trying to find and pet them. Marshalls offers a good variety of dog food and plants, the prices are a bit high on many objects but its also a good quality.

I usually come to this store for the dog food. They have a good selection of high quality dog food like the brand Victor. They have all kinds of gardening assortments that they sell and flowers etc as well. They also sell neat things for your home. The customer service is great. They also have a nice reward system which actually gives you discounts pretty quickly.
