Time and patience are the keys to successfully introducing a new cat to your household. The new cat should have a room of her own for the first several days after coming to a new home. This allows your new cat to adjust to the new sounds, smells and people in your home without being overwhelmed by a large area.

I had a wonderful experience with meow cat rescue, and I would absolutely recommend for anyone wanting to adopt a cat. I found my boy Esteban on petfinder, and the pictures and description from the ad were very accurate. I filled out the adoption form and heard back quickly from Marilyn (sp? one of the many people that volunteer there). If you're approved they schedule meet and greets on the weekend, which we scheduled for the following weekend.

Shortly before I was about to leave to meet him, Marilyn called me with some unfortunate news -- Este had become sick with a fever. She offered me the option to come and meet the other cats or to keep in touch about Este. I had a strong intuition that Este would be the cat for me, so I decided to wait it out. I was honestly worried that either his condition would worsen or that they would forget to keep me in the loop and someone else would adopt him.

However Marilyn promptly returned all my calls and kept me up to date weekly. He is also totally healthy now, and his illness was likely due the shock of the new shelter environment. When he was feeling better (2 or 3 weeks after initially inquiring) Marilyn invited me to come meet him and even put him on reserve (not sure if if this is normal, but it seemed like the circumstances called for it).

I got to meet him in an enclosed private room with toys and my friend was able to come along too. Marilyn was very knowledgable about cats in general and also knew the person who found him, so I got to learn about his situation before being picked up by the shelter. Great way to get a feel for his personality. The adoption fee was a mere $65 and they accepted payment by credit card.

The $65 covered his previous neuter operation, treatment for worms, vaccinations / other health stuff, the microchip (he came chipped and they registered him to me on the spot), detailed documentation on his health records, guidance documentation on the various issues on adopting a new cat, certificates for mudd bay and all the best and a free wellness exam for the vet.

Really crazy value. I honestly really can't think of this experience going any better. They also followed up with me a month after adopting him to see how things are going, so I appreciate that care about how their kitties are doing post-adoption. If I ever decide to adopt another cat, I will without a doubt go through meow cat rescue. Attached a few pics from when I got to meet him and him getting cozy in his new home.

I just adopted a kitten from Meow Cat Rescue and the whole process couldn't have been better. I had an appointment to meet the kitten I was interested in and got a good half hour to get to know her before falling in love and deciding to take her home! The staff was incredibly helpful and walked me through every step of the process. You can tell the rescue really cares for each of the animals it takes in and is serious about finding a good home for them. I left with a new member of my family and couldn't be happier!

Clean and inviting shelter. Staff is fabulous, helpful, and loving with the cats. They are definitely dedicated to matching the cats with the right people. The paperwork was short and easy but then they give you an extensive education on what to expect, how best to acclimate the cat to new home, litter box, food, and so much more. I left with confidence.and toys, litter box, nail clippers and so much more.

MEOW is an amazing rescue, they truly care about the cats well being! The staff and volunteers devote so much of their lives to helping these animals it's incredible. It's so clean, you'd wonder where the cats are because you won't smell litter boxes at all. It's such a safe and loving environment for them until they find their furever homes!

We called ahead and drove out to meet some of the kittens we were looking at adopting. We could have been told that the kitties we were interested in needed a quiet household without kids as we asked about them by name. It would have saved us the long drive. The clerk spoke to us in a very condescending manner and asked way too many questions about how our previous rescue had passed away.

We had our cat for 7 years (he was estimated to be 8 years old when we got him from Meow) and he was loved and well cared for as he had been a stray previous. The line of questions seemed quite inappropriate. He was an indoor cat and once ran out into the snow for a brief moment to jump around in it on our back patio when we had it open fixing something.

It was great memory and we snapped some quick pictures and promptly brought him back in. My wife shared the photo from her phone album and the clerk decided from that one instance in time and made it clear to us, rather passive aggressively, that we were disqualified from adopting a cat from them. That beautiful memory is now forever tarnished. My wife was upset the whole way home.

It's great that you care about cats and your rescues but that's where the compassion, seemingly, ends. The clerk was even short and curt with an appointment who had just walked in. The customer service was abysmal. I will never return nor will I recommend anyone to visit this place.

I love this place! Came here after checking out a bigger cat rescue place and fell in love with these two sibling kittens I ended up adopting. I was able to spend a good time playing with them and the adoption process was easy (you do have to fill a questionnaire but this only shows they care about where their cats go).

Meow cat rescue is probably one of the best rescue facilities I've been to. It's not over crowded and there are plenty of staff members to take care of the kitties. The kitties are well taken care of and happy. I really enjoyed how knowledgeable and friendly the staff was. They were very open and honest about each cat's background and health history.

They were very good with helping me find a possible match for me and my family. I was also given very clear instructions on how to care for my new friend. They also made sure to give my new kitty a health check and claw clipping before taking her home. I was also given a care packet and complimentary vet check with my new friend. So far Ada seems happy in our home. I am hopeful that she has found her forever home.
