We offer family-friendly dog sledding adventures. All of our dog sledding experiences are designed to be more than "just a ride" and are hands on to the comfort level of the guest. As always, the proceeds generated from our tours help cover the expenses involved in caring for the 60 incredible canine athletes that call us home.

Muddy Paw Sled Dog Kennel and Raft NH have a unique structure and are different than your typical adventure tourism outfitter. Muddy Paw Sled Dog Kennel (aka Muddy Paw, aka our "winter persona") was established as a touring kennel in 2007. Since its inception, Muddy Paw has grown year after year and is currently home to just over 60 sled dogs, some of which are rescue and second chance and others are part of our selective breeding program.
As born and raised "Mainer", Neil has over 30 years of guiding experience. When he isn't on the river or snow-packed trails, he is in the classroom sharing his knowledge of science. In addition to all these adventures Neil has added a strong love for creating delicious homemade maple syrup. If he were a dog, he would be a Malamute.
Muddy Paw Dogs - theses are the old timers (or offspring of the old timers) that have been with the owner since he first started mushing years ago and/or are part of our selective breeding program. Second Chance Sled Dogs - these are sled dogs that come to us from wonderful working backgrounds and were generally taken really great care of but needed somewhere else to call home (perhaps their musher was looking to retire or downsize their team).
We are currently looking to bring another two legged worker to our pack! If you are hard working and love dogs, we have an open position for a kennel hand 4-5 days per week. This job will be looking for someone that is ready to dig into all the daily chores and projects here at the kennel. Must be willing to work most of the day outdoors and have transportation to and from work daily.

I had a blast yesterday! If you love dogs and the winters here in New England, I highly recommend taking a ride. The dogs were pawsome and the mushers great too! Shout out to my Musher Garett!

This place is fantastic! We got this as a Christmas present for my son, and I honestly had sticker shock at the price initially. But I was 100% converted once we had our outing. The mushers and yard assistant are very friendly and went out of their way to make the experience personalized for each guest. They let us wander the dog yard and get acquainted with the 60 dogs.

They then took my 11 y/o and showed him the different parts of the sled, lines and harnesses, and then let him harness the dogs and hook them to the sled (with supervision of course!). Our musher was Joe, and he kept us entertained with local stories and details about the Company and future plans. He really enjoys what he is doing and it shows. The actual ride was fun as an out-and-back, with a turnaround that goes up onto a hillside with a great view of Mount Jefferson and an exciting downhill back to the main trail. If you like dogs, this is must-do experience.

My husband, 3 boys ages 9, 10, 12, and I just did the evening 1.5 hour tour and cannot say enough positive things about this experience! Our mushers, Casey and Garrett, were knowledgeable and friendly and so good with our excited boys and went out of their way to make sure they were warm and participated in every aspect of the tour, including some "mushing"!

The dogs seemed well taken care of and were so excited to do the run! I went dog sledding with Muddy Paws 15 years ago with my parents and my brothers and had such an amazing time that I wanted to share the experience with my husband and children, and it did not disappoint! I highly recommend Muddy Paws! Definitely dress warm and follow all the tips they give you in your confirmation email!

Came home and told these two it was time to step it up and get a job : Absolutely loved this experience. I have worked with dogs in all different professional capacities for over 15 years and it was very evident that Kasey loved and knew how to handle each one of his dogs. I really enjoyed that we got to spend time with the dogs before and after our trip. I think I spent time with every single dog that I was allowed to. Such a fun way to spend an afternoon, definitely want to come back for a sunset ride.

We had the best experience today! Freezing cold for 2 South Carolinian transplants from New England but well worth hanging onto our winter gear. I want to say our musher's name was KC, but I'm not sure. didn't matter, they were all friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I want to come back, maybe during leaf peeping season.

Excellent must-do experience, especially for dog lovers. Crew and dogs were very friendly and informative. Our kids, who are avid dog-lovers, absolutely loved getting to meet and pet the dogs before our ride. Our family had a fun bit of adventure, thanks so much!

We took our 5 and 8 year old kids for their mini-mush and everyone had a great time. It was a blue-bird day, not too cold, and the hands-on experience with the dogs was great. It starts with release forms, followed by time to meet the dogs outside. Each dog has a kennel and platform with a short run and there's about 65 of them. We've always had similarly sized dogs so the kids were really comfortable around all the dogs, so much so that after being warned which two dogs (out of 65) would (playfully) try to take your hat or mittens, our five year old decided to test it out and we had to get it back.

Then the kids and parents got to help with harnessing the dogs and hooking them to the line, learning about why a dog might go to the back or front to the pack. Soon after that, we were off. On the ride, our little guy got to see the dogs jostling for place and was a little uncomfortable with how the dogs bark and sometimes snarl or snap at each other if one is getting out of line. Joe had a running commentary on how the dog pack functions and how this is normal and healthy.

He also had great recommendations on kid-friendly movies like Togo or Balto to watch to keep the excitement going. Best measure, our son can't stop talking about how much fun it was and when can we go back. Our daughter can't either but we knew that would be the case going in. Highly recommended!

Highly recommend! Upon arrival, we were greated by Gabby who did a great job going over the kennel rules and introduced us to the pack. The dogs were friendly and got plenty of affection (all ready have a few favorites). Our musher, Terry, provided us with an amazing sled tour. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.
