Your puppy's training begins the moment you bring him or her home, even if you don't realize it. It is estimated that last year over 4 million pets were euthanized in this country alone, primarily by owners who got off to a bad start with their new pet and behavior problems followed. During the first 16 weeks of a puppy's life is when they form the majority of their attitudes towards their environment, including people and other animals.
Approx 75-90 min of discussion covering housebreaking, crate training, what is reasonable to expect from puppies in the 7-16 week period & basic development, proper/safe toy selection, treats, What is proper socialization, what are the challenges of a puppy, based on breed may be for each owner to help prepare them.
Why should I train my dog? Obedience training builds communication and brings structure to your dog's life. Dogs need structure and leadership, like children, to feel secure in their environment. Training also prevents and solves many behavior problems. If your dog is well-trained you're able to trust him more with strangers, children and new situations.
Before NKYK9 Remi was somewhat of an aggressive dog, that didn't listen, and ran away on a regular basis. After working with Belinda for just 4 weeks, we have seen a huge transformation in Remi. She is still the cute and quirky dog we love but now she is happier, listens, stays close, and doesn't pounce on other dogs and people when walking or biking.
