Op Barks Dog Behavior & Training It's what we're going after. For almost 20 years we've been demystifying dog training and teaching people how to raise puppies, work through behavioral challenges, and train for real-life. We are not here to turn you into dog trainers, we are here to help you get the guidance you need to get to enjoy a big, lush life with your dog. We focus on teaching humans how to communicate and connect so you can move towards your bigger goals- more play, adventure, and freedom together. Understanding you and your pup, and what you aspire to do together is key to a training plan that meets your immediate needs and builds towards bigger goals.
Services
The goal of dog training with us isn't dog training. The goal of training with us is to empower you to live a full life with your dog. We're committed to helping dogs and humans reach their greatest potential for the biggest adventure together, real life. We are integrative trainers that borrow from the world of ethology and neuroscience and offer a flexible relationship-based approach to training using body language, food, play, hand signals, words, movement, hands-on touch, and equipment to communicate with and guide the dog.
This ain't our first rodeo. We spend hours a day observing, teaching, and learning from the dogs we get to call students. Together we have over 40 years of combined experience, working with thousands of humans and dogs since we began in 2003- companion, stray, purebred, rescue, mutt, street dog, puppy mill, fighting ring busts, feral, wolf hybrid- and a few horses.
Whether you are just getting started with a new puppy or are ready to get off the merry-go-round of things that aren't working, welcome. We lead with honesty, a good dose of humor, and a massive amount of experience. Our job is to keep it real and tap into the magic between you and your dog. Not sure where to start?
If you are reading this, something brought you here. Maybe it was a few clicks around our site, a vibe, a feeling that resonated. Trust that. We're honest, we're open-minded, and we love getting creative. We're not in the business of telling people they need to go at a snail's pace and dedicate the rest of their life to working around their dog's insecurities.

Leigh is fabulous. She immediately analyzed Sammie's problems and provided insight and training exercises to help us. After one lesson, Sammie has already begun to respond in a more positive way. Love Opportunity Barks

It's hard to find a trainer that shares your philosophy and genuinely wants to see your puppy succeed in there training program. I know I tried two other trainers before going to Opportunity Barks. I enrolled my mini golden doodle in to Farm Dog Adventures after his first day I saw a change in his walking skills. Now, as his 3rd week comes to end I know it was the best thing I did for him.

On the days he is at the farm, I received a report card and videos that helped me continue to work with my puppy at home. I love Opportunity Barks, the staff are helpful, caring and most importantly knowledgeable.

I did a virtual training with Leigh and she was super helpful with my issues with my puppy. She's so knowledgeable and had practical tips for me to try out. She had me try them on my dog while she watched and gave feedback, and she even got a dog and demonstrated what I should be doing. Really helpful, money well spent. She knows her stuff!

We love Opportunity Barks! We first started working with Opportunity Barks when we enrolled our puppy in socialization classes, puppy foundations classes and occasional tune up classes. We love the opportunity barks farm in Bucks county. When we drop off our dog he is always so excited to see the trainers and the farm, he runs straight to the door and is so happy to be there. We are so grateful that we can leave our dog in their care and not have to stress about him. Thank you Opportunity Barks!

When deciding to adopt a puppy, I wanted to make sure that I did absolutely everything I could to build a solid foundation. I looked for puppy training classes but also wanted somewhere that could take us beyond puppy stage. I also looked specifically for a place that offered a range of training techniques so I could feel comfortable in whatever ended up working for Della.

I participated at the East Falls location over the past year. The puppy foundation classes were great. It was a good opportunity to learn the basics, troubleshoot some issues, but mostly build confidence and start developing a relationship. We also participated in puppy socials for a long as she could because it was a safe environment for all the pups.

The supervised play made me feel good about interactions with other pups. We were having some confidence issues and decided to participate in the one week drop off program. By the end of the week she had come so far and we had a great session with Allison to teach us specifics about Della and how to continue at home. We went to a couple B2 classes which were great refreshers.

I hope to participate in some of the agility and cafe manners. We went back yesterday to troubleshoot a very specific issue with leash pulling with a private lesson. We were blown away by Amanda and the amount of knowledge and information that went into that session. She was professional and her time management skills were amazing. She got right to the issue and was able to correct it by the end of the session.

Our walk there and back were night and day. That evening we had the best walk with Della in the past year. I am so happy that I decided to commit to working with Della from the beginning and am even more happy to have somewhere I can go if any issues come up in the future.

Freddie, my puppy, Chrissy my sister and I really enjoyed our first lesson. Our fellow classmates, Butter and Sky seemed to enjoy their lessons also, as did their owners. The class was about an hour long and we learned sit, come, leave it and down. Freddie and I are still struggling with down, but otherwise class went well. Our teachers were patient and thorough. We can't wait until the next class!

Opbarks is an amazing dog training facility. We learned how to brush up our manners around other dogs and work on impulse control. Explain things so well and so willing to work on whatever you need to with your dog. I recommend them to anyone looking for a dog trainer in the area. Cannot say enough good things about them!

My pup recently finished an off-leash adventure program with Opportunity Barks and we absolutely loved it! The farm dog programs are an excellent way to give city dogs a safe space (10 acres!) to be dogs - sniffing all the sniffs, sprinting through the woods, splashing in a creek and interacting with other dogs. I knew Gus would be safe - which is something you can't be sure of at a dog park or with random dogs you may meet on a trail. Alyssa and the other trainers also worked with Gus individually, multiple times per day on coming when called around distractions (squirrels, bunnies, and other playful dogs) and helped him learn how to play appropriately with dogs of all ages and sizes.

I can't say enough about how valuable this experience has been, truly worth every penny and then some. Gus and I love the smart, compassionate team at Opbarks, and I wouldn't trust my dog with anyone else.

We brought our first dog to puppy classes here and had a great experience. A year and another dog later, we were back for private lessons with our second leash reactive dog. Within an hour we felt so relieved to learn and understand properly how to communicate with our dog, and now we can keep working in breaking the reactive cycle. Really appreciate Leigh and the OP Barks team!

Adopted a Doodle with some behavior issues (guarding, mouthing) & turned to OPBarks after a few friends recommended them. It's only been 2 weeks & one private lesson in but it's already made a huge difference in how we handle issues with the dog. Our household already feels calmer & Parker has taken to the lessons really well. Excited to watch him progress more & very relieved that we now have the tools to correct him in a way that doesn't lead to us yelling or getting frustrated!
