Classes are a great way to socialize and have fun with your dog, fine tune your training skills and practice working together in a distracting environment. All classes combine indoor and outdoor work in a large fenced area, along with agility obstacles for fun and confidence building. Classes are designed to teach good leadership in people and good manners in their canine companions.
The seminar was thought provoking and insightful. It was filled with information that was easy to understand and relative to every dog owner, covering an array of topics in depth. Jody was very diligent and respectful of the attendees' needs and time. I had an enjoyable learning experience. We contracted with Jody as a presenter for our educational activities during our Entlebucher Mountain Dog National Specialty. I was so impressed with Jody! We hired her for her expertise, positive approach to problem solving and getting results in dog training.
After recommending Jody for several years, I was privileged to meet her in person when our most recently adopted dog proved to be more challenging than expected. As a rescue dog, Sabine appeared to be poorly socialized and was fearful of anything or anyone new. As a veterinarian, I've seen what can happen when behavioral issues are ignored, and I did not want Sabine's fear to progress to aggression.
Jody received her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Marquette University. She is also certified as a Dog Behavior Consultant through the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants and is a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers. She founded Pawsitive Directions, LLC in 2000 and offers behavior consultations, private training and small group classes to her clients.

Jody is a phenomenal woman who cares and wants the very best for both the owner and their companion Second time using her and would not take my pet or myself to anyone else and Rosebud agrees.

Jody helped us out six years ago in an incredibly difficult situation. She helped us make a very sad decision that brought a house of mismatched inhabitants to the best solution for everyone's happiness. She made the solution not feel like a failure but a responsible step. A beautiful hard working dog is in its element. I researched better and found a breeder who chose my puppy that grew into the dog of my dreams. I was lucky enough to attend one of her seminars. Enjoyed very much. Can't wait to take a class with her for fun.

We hired Jody when we welcomed our new golden retriever in our home in April, 2018. We wanted to start off on the right foot, as a big dog with bad manners is never a good idea. Jody predicates her training on positive training, which made Finley adore training times with her, and with us. Her training focused to only his actions, but also our responses to bad behavior. Jody's 1:1 help and suggestions nipped bad habits immediately, and we watched our rambunctious puppy turn into a well behaved young adult.

With her guidance over three in home lessons (one every 1.5 months), we welcomed 30 people into our home for a Thanksgiving dinner, ages 3-89, without ANY incidents of jumping, begging our inappropriate dog stuff from Finley at age 9 months. She has practical solutions to every issue from mouthing to jumping and everything in between. You get what you pay for in dog training, and you want to do it RIGHT. I highly recommend Jody and will continue to use her as behaviors crop up for our dog. Thanks to her, we have a well rounded dog who is simply a pleasure to be around!

Jody was wonderful with our family situation and our high energy husky. A very difficult breed to train but the best thing we could have ever done! So patient with everyone and every dog. I think us humans need the most training to learn how to train the dogs and not think spoiling will work. The crate was the best tool and Bandit does great when we have to leave him home. He goes right to it! Thanks Jody. We will be back again for further training soon!

We took our 12 month old puppy here for puppy training and I'm so happy we did! Jody has some really great insights and ideas on how to help you out and get you motivated to train your dog in the way you want. Our dog was potty trained in under one month (okay a few accidents after a month, but still, we couldn't believe it!) I do think this had to do with going to doggy training, speaking with Jody, and working really hard every day (plus stopping home at lunch and den training). Jody brought stuff up we would have never considered! She always stayed after class to chat too if anyone was having any issues. Thanks for everything Jody! Our next pup is coming to you!
