Pet Orphans Of Southern California Pet Orphans of Southern California (POSC) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to the advancement of companion animal welfare and to combating overpopulation, abandonment, and the need for euthanasia. We have been rescuing, rehabilitating, and placing animals in loving "forever homes" for over 40 years.

POSC provides broad community support through our Humane Education program and our diverse client services (medical/financial, spay/neuter, training assistance, and counseling) to encourage responsible pet guardianship.
Services
A native of Los Angeles, Ms. Haley graduated from Marlborough and USC, where she spent the rest of her life maintaining lifelong friendships made there. She volunteered with various charities in Los Angeles and in 1973 she co-founded with Diane Scripps, Pet Orphans of Southern California which remained her passion.
All proceeds go to Pet Orphans of Southern California to help our orphans find their forever homes. What better way to immortalize your beloved pet than to help our pets in the process. To make an appointment with our photographer Suzanne Allison, schedule below or email suzanne@petorphans.org.
Pets are surviving longer than ever before because to advancements in veterinary treatment and care. According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, cats and dogs reach senior status at the age of seven. Your animal pals will require more attention as they get older in order to live their best lives.

There is a new vet on premises, Dr. Silverman. My babies entered but parents are not allowed to enter premises. I really liked her. She was thorough when she came out to speak to me. She was also patient and answered all my questions. I love the work that Pet Orphans does!

We took our small (17 lbs) 6 month old puppy here for her spay surgery. They were professional, caring, and performed the spay laparoscopically which results in minimal trauma. They used surgical glue instead of stitches so there was no follow up appointment. They also accept the $50 discount spay and neuter coupon that the LA department of animal control will provide any Los Angeles resident who asks for one.

The cost for the entire procedure including coupon, microchipping, pain medicine, and the Cone Of Shame was about what we paid for the same procedure at our local, generally low cost vet. (Fancy, upscale veterinarian offices were charging upwards of $900 for a spay procedure. This was less than half that). I would recommend scheduling the procedure earlyish in the week as they are not in the clinic on the weekends. That way, if you have a post operative concern you won't have to see a different vet over the weekend. All told it was a good experience. I have no complaints.

CARELESS Unfortunately I can't suggest using this clinic. I feel like the doctor doesn't really care what's going on with the pet; in the emergency situation they confirm my appointment at the end of the day, and when we came to visit they told us that they do only limited service and can't do the exams or operation at this location. However they offered us to make a blood test, even that they told that after the blood test we'll going to have to visit a real pet clinic. Only to take a payment for that.

We love Pet Orphans. My sister & her daughter volunteered there a few years ago and we adopted our little maltipoo there. Everyone there is exceptional! The groomers & the vets and all employees treat all the animals all the animals like they are their own. I just can't say enough good things about each and everyone there & I recommend them to people all the time. They represent what a pet rescue should be all about!

Pet orphans is #1 a great place to find a pet but they focus on making sure you are a fit for the pet not the other around. #2 they are a great veterinarian clinic and they are very sweet and are professional. #3 the groomers are right there! Once you get your fur baby you can go to a veterinarian and everything is right there.

All I can say is THANK YOU FOR YOUR services. My wife and I are sad but we knew that DIESEL had to be taken out of pain. Right now were looking for a 3-4 year old pure bread to train for my hearing loss as was Diesel. Again THANK YOU JEAN AND ZENY BESSETTE

What a wonderful place. The people who operate this vet clinic are absolute angels. I rescued a stray cat and took her here for vaccinations and to have her fixed. The service and care provided was MILES beyond that of some full price vets I've been to in the past. These folks really love animals and it shows. Thanks pet orphans for helping me get a wonderful loving cat off the street without breaking the bank.

Staff are nice and helpful when you have an emergency. The place is clean and You can expect a good experience talking to a doctor. The fees are low and very affordable. Great place to check for adoptions once Covi leaves us alone.

Fairly disappointed with them. Scheduled two kittens to be fixed on a Wednesday they called and moved the appointments around so that i had to come back two separate times. Soonest appointment i could get was two weeks out. Didn't work for my schedule but whatever, i went with it anyways only to have them cancel the day before on me and said they dont know when they can reschedule. Proceeded to redirect me to another vet they claimed took the voucher, but didn't. Thank you for wasting my time

Critical: Professionalism this place is awful. They do not ever call back or respond to any emails. they totally are unfair. horrible customer service as well as extremely rude! I called on 4 dogs on 4 separate occasions and never got a response. DO NOT RECOMMEND! They are so unprofessional.

Dr. K, Bria and the rest of the staff are exceptional in providing quality and accurate care. They literally saved my dog, Candy's life. If it wasn't for Dr. K's accurate assessment of what she needed and what was wrong she would not be with us today. She needs long-term care but I am grateful to have Pet Orphans of So. CA they are an asset to our pet community by providing affordable care.
