Since I did not receive any comment or follow-up after contacting Pet Palace directly, I thought I would share my experience here. I boarded my kitty for July 4th weekend; it was her first time being boarded. When I picked her up, she was skeletally thin, which I did not notice until I took her out of her carrier when I got home. Granted, she had lost a little bit of weight before I brought her for boarding, but not a noticeable amount.

I had already planned on taking her to the vet as soon as I was back in town, but I was never notified during her time at Pet Palace that she was not eating (it was pretty obvious to me that she had not eaten those 4 days for her to be so skinny). I may have come back sooner to pick her up and take her to a vet or requested that someone drive her to a local vet at my expense.

She ended up being diagnosed with Feline Infectious Peritonitis, which you may know is a fatal disease in cats. While I have been able to treat her for it, if we had known even a few days earlier, I would have been able to start treating her earlier, and she may not have been hospitalized for three days or needed a blood transfusion just a couple days after picking her up from Pet Palace.

I am not blaming Pet Palace for giving her FIP; this isn't the case at all. I'm just really disappointed with the lack of communication and hope that this is not something that happens to any future kitty parent who boards with Pet Palace.

Don't go there. I use to work there. The owner does not treat the animals or her employees well. Go anywhere else but pet palace. I am in legal trouble with the IRS because my tax form was messed up, the wrong SSN was put on my form, and she is refusing to help me. I know of an old Co-Worker who had to threaten to sue and go in with a Police Officer to get her last paycheck.

She does not properly train employees on how to handle dogs. One time while working I got bit by a cat.my entire arm swelled up and felt like it was on fire! But she said it wasn't bad enough for me to go to the doctor. She expects the groomers to groom 8 dogs a day! (at least that how many we did) and there was only 2 of us. It was way too much! We were so rushed for time that we could not be nice.yeah they may come out looking nice, but your dog did not enjoy that groom. Don't go there.

When we had our Lab she went all the time it was really good years ago!. Then as she was getting a little older we decided not to take her anymore. She was content being home, but she passed away a few years later. Then we got two small dogs and took them to get groomed and the groomer wasn't nice at all. I am thinking it had to be a change in people or management. But we will never do it again.

New in town and decided to visit for grooming for my pup but after two visits I will not return. The first time as I was specific in that I would pick my dog as soon as she was done just call me and the young lady at the desk said she would only take about an hour and she would call me. I finally called about two hours later and she said she would be ready in 20 minutes.

That wasn't such a big deal but I was a little irritated because shes a small dog and I think they just forgot to call. So I went back this time and I asked how long and she said they were a little backed up but prob 1.5 hrs and they would call, it wasn't a problem and they called this time but after I brought my little one home I noticed she was sitting in a corner kicking her back paw for a long time and when I checked her, her whole paw was covered in blood (as well as the chair she was sitting on) due to a nail be cut too close to the quick.

I completely understand this happens ( one of the reason I trim her nails nyself!) And don't mind the injury to my pup but I was extremely upset that I wasn't notified upon picking her up. I noticed it about after picking her up and was able to look up online how to stop the bleeding, but she had been bleeding for almost an hour before I found it. I'm glad I was home and didn't leave her unattended because I have no idea how long she could have continued to bleed without extra attention.

I find it hard to believe she wasn't bleeding while at the groomer so I would have appreciated being notified. I called to ask about it but the young lady who answered the phone didn't seem too concerned and just said she would talk to groomer about it.

Was calling around to figure out where I want to take my dog to be boarded. About a month ago I had found a place but lost the name of it. So had called pet palace to see if it was the place- nonetheless a customer looking for a good place to take my dog. whatever girl I was talking around (5:40pm 4/29) to was a complete ass, for absolutely*** no reason.

It may be because they were about to close; but there is no excuse. Could have easily had me as a regular because I need somewhere through out the whole football season. But I'll be damned if I'm going to take my dog here. If you are going to talk to your customers that way- imagine how you talk to the dogs when you're frustrated with them.

It was as if I was an inconvenience for calling and asking how their place was and worked. Woof ave was the place I originally called a month ago- completely opposite results and acts like they are excited to meet Polo. Good luck guys with that line of service!

This place is HORRIBLE! Took my dog there for broading for Friday -Sunday. Measured out precisely how much food he should have per feeding. One cup twice a day. He has severe food allergies so we bring his food. To my surprise when I picked him up Sunday 90% of his food was still left. Your dog will be starved! So pissed!

Not sure why everyone hates the Pet Palace. I have been going there for over a year for boarding, grooming, etc. for my springer. He has been well taken care of, well fed, and given plenty of water each and every time he is there. When he is bathed he is always perfectly clean and brushed and always smells like a clean dog. They'll have my business until I leave Auburn in a couple of years.

The only gripe I have about them is one of the girls that works there NEVER writes down when I say I'm going to pick him up, so sometimes he isn't bathed when I get there and I have to come back later. That's simply an isolated staff issue and has nothing against their treatment of my dog, which is why I cannot complain too much. All in all I consider the Pet Palace to be perfect for me and Teddy!

We have given Pet Palace numerous chances. The first 2 days our dog went to daycare, she came home with poop on her leg and stomach. Well, poop happens. However, when she came home and her eyes were swollen shut, that was the last straw. Her face was covered in hives and no one noticed. I asked the girl who put on her harness and leash for pick up & she said "Oh gosh, that is awful I didn't even notice!" It is impossible not to notice when a dog has one eye swollen shut and 20 welts on her face.

I know there are many dogs there so it's impossible for someone to have eyes on her all day, but with one on one attention like this, it should be noticed. We asked to speak with the manager and instead got to speak with the worker in charge of her "area". She said "when I checked the water bowl in her kennel about 2 hours ago, she looked fine!" So not only do they not play outside, they are kept in a metal cage all day and given 1 hour of playtime a day. Bottom line, if you're paying money for this type of service just leave your dog at home in a cage for the same amount of attention they get at Pet Palace.

This owner is the most irresponsible "business" person I have ever dealt with. She and her staff allowed my daughter's pure bred husky to be put in with other dogs while she was in heat SPECIFICALLY WHEN HER PAPERWORK SAID THAT SHE WAS NOT TO BE ALLOWED TO BE WITH OTHER DOGS WHO WERE NOT NEUTERED. Our dog became pregnant and after repeated request to the owner for information on what happened and who the owner of the other dog was, she flat out refused to help.

She lied to me when I spoke to her and she told me she would "help in any way" but had to only speak to my daughter because she registered her husky there. Yet my daughter called not an hour later and the owner would not speak to her. Subsequently the owner refuses to do anything, ,,s he will not even take my daughter's name and number and give it to the owner of the other dog.

I have filed a complaint with the BBB and I am suggesting NO ONE ever take their dog to this place. You can see from all the reviews that the owner cares nothing about her customers or her guests. We want to speak with the owner of the other dog which was a large poodle to offer them a puppy and to also find out if the poodle was registered. We will be sure to find good homes for these puppies but the owner cares nothing about my daughter, her staff's irresponsibility, the dogs, or the health and welfare of the animals. Do NOT take your pet anywhere close to this place. All the owner cares about is money.

First Experience My Last Wow! One of our neighbors said they liked these people so we tried it. First of all $27 a day to board and if you want them to let your dog out of a kennel other than to pee and poop you need to pay them an additional $6 per day. Four days and a wake up $174. $43.50 a day? I called and they said $18 to give her a bath and they charged us $8 and $4 for each type of treat they gave her. We gave them specific instructions and a food scoop and our dog was so over fed we will be dieting for weeks to get her back where she was. Never more!

Let me just say I have never been so enraged! I took my Dutch to Pet Palace yesterday morning to get a bath. Keeping in mind I have only taken her here probably 3 times. The lady proceeds to tell me that they are running late and may be 12:45 or later and that she would CALL ME when they finished. So I wait and wait so about 1:15 I go up there to find DOORS LOCKED, LIGHTS OFF AND NO ONE THERE!

Only one phone number which is the phone that I could hear ringing inside the building! I was fixing to break down the doors! About 40 minutes after pacing around the building the manager pulls up. Only to tell me that it was basically my fault for not knowing that they close at 1:00,W hich I did not know and if I did know do they think I would really leave my dog alone there!

Even when I told her that the girl said she would call me when she was finished.she keeps telling me that they close at 1:00! So without even calling me they lock her up. Would they have ever called me? She was rude and looked at me like I was an idiot! Even though it was their fault for not letting me know she was ready they made me pay $50 for their mistake!

I have had several people tell me that this is not the first time this has happened. They have horrible business management and they only care about THE MONEY not the care of our dogs! I strongly suggest to NEVER let them have contact with your dog!

If you love your pets DO NOT take them here! They stay in kennels all day, IF they do get to "play" their playroom is the size of a refrigerator. The "cat room" is the bathroom and they just stay in their crate you bring them in. The staff is rude! Just ask to go back to check the back out. They prob won't let you cause they know it's horrible. And if they do let you, then get ready to be pissed!

I've used this place before and was leery to go back because when I went the first time they refused to let me see the kennels where my dog would stay; I like to check for cleanliness etc. They would not let me, but they seemed nice and the front looked clean. I came back through town again on short notice so I called ahead to confirm availability and the hours I could drop him off.

When I showed up they told me that their hours online are not accurate and that I'd have to wait until 4:00 in the afternoon to get him the next day. I had to drive 7 hours the next day so this wasn't an option for me. I explained that I was in a tight spot, could they have one person meet me in the a.m. for a few minutes and offered to pay them 3x's!

The boarding fee for the inconvenience, but the owner refused. So much for southern hospitality! Got in touch with a local place called Kiesel Bark Boarding and they were amazing. I told them I sometimes travel odd hours and the owner offered his cell phone number saying he'd meet me after hours if I ever needed it.

Disappointing. Very expensive. $26 dollars a night. Rates are different at the facility than stated on website. The girl up front said they can change rates whenever they deem. Charged a holiday rate when I dropped off on 6/26/13. When I came to pick-up the place reeked of urine and feces and this was at 11am when they opened at 7. Did not have a good feeling leaving my dog here.

I picked my baby girl up after 3 nights at Pet Palace around 10:30 am. There was only about 1/8th of her food gone which surprised me. She also came from behind the counter acting totally not like herself. She whined all the way home and the minute I let her out of the car she stinkied and pee peed. (always does both first thing in the morning) When I let her in the house, she immediately went to the water bowl and guzzled down lots of water like she hadn't had any in a long time.

Both of these are totally not normal behavior for her. The "best" part is, I picked her up on a Saturday morning around 10:30 and by Sunday evening she was coughing and sneezing. Her vet said she picked up a respiratory bug from another dog and she needed 2 prescriptions that she had to take for 10 days. (She wasn't around ANY other pets except the Pet Palace pets.) I will NEVER use Pet Palace again! Not only are they extremely expensive but they do not have good clean places for 4 legged babies to stay healthy.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE! I entrusted my dog here for a weekend while I was out of town. When I picked her up on Sunday her right leg was broken. They neither took her to a vet or paid the 5000 vet bill. They refused to take blame for her pitiful condition I found my dog in when I picked her up. There is no telling how long she was in this agonizing pain b/c I didn't get a straight answer from any of the staff. They completely washed their hands of the entire situation,

I took my two cats here for grooming yesterday and was initially wanting them bathed and to have their hair trimmed with the clippers. This is something I usually do myself, but I figured a professional could do a better job. When I got to Pet Palace the lady insisted that the only thing she could do was shave them completely. I explained that I did not want them shaved completly, just trimmed to get rid of some of the hair.

She continued to explain to me that this was not possible. Right, that's why I've been doing it myself for months! Since she was only willing to make my cats bald, I just asked that they be bathed with their deshedding shampoo. I also explained that one of my cats had a few mats under his chest and asked that they be removed. Five hours later, I came to pick up my fresh smelling felines only to have them returned to me in a different carrier!

I told the lady which carrier they had come in and she went back to look for it. Luckily they found it and I took my kitties home. When we got home I was petting the kitty that had mats to see how he felt after the grooming except.they didn't get rid of the mats. They didn't even touch them! Rather than call and make a fuss, cause I hate doing that, I just took him outside and proceeded to do what I should have done in the first place.groomed him myself. I would not take any of my animals here for grooming again.
