We've relied on Pet and Plant for the past few years to take care of our cat when we travel. He needs to be fed 2x per day. They are wonderful and also take care of our mail and plants. When we leave we have peace of mind and when we return everything is in order and the cat has been well cared for. The best in the biz.

I've been using this service for two years now. I was worried that when I moved from LP to Ravenswood I would no longer be in their service area. I was relieved to find that I still was. Just returned from a 5-day trip and my cat was happy as can be. Thanks again, guys!

I have been a customer of pet and plant for about 4 years, having my basset hound Baxter walked 3 times per week and use for vacation service. I can't recommend the company and my walker Tom highly enough. Calls are promptly returns for changes to service and I always feel secure on vacation that Baxter is well taken care of while I am away. They leave a report for every single walk so you know your dog has done his business and when I do run into Tom he is extremely enthusiastic and seems like a genuine dog lover. Chaz, the owner, has also been great to work with over the years.

We have used Pet and Plant Care many times over the years to visit/feed our cats and water our plants over the years. They have always delivered quality care to our cats and plants. If they could talk, I am sure they would agree! One of our cats was on medication one time, and Pet and Plant was able to administer it. They also were able to brush our very mean cat, which I find impressive. Setting up the appointments is easy and they are reasonably priced for the area. They even send us magnets and greeting cards sometimes - just a real nice place all around!

I've always been satisfied with Pet and Plant Care's service. I've come to trust the company and my dog's regular walker, Tom, because they seem to go out of their way to make sure me and my pup are happy. My nosey neighbor has even told me how reliable and punctual the walkers always seem to be, and I have even entrusted our walker to house/dog sit for a whole weekend when I've gone out of town. Calling in to the office to cancel or change my dog's walk has also never been an unpleasant experience. I'd definitely recommend them to care for your pet (and apparently plants).

I have used Pet and Plant Care to care for my 2 cats while I am away many times, and have always returned to happy, healthy cats with a clean litterbox and plenty of food and water. Plus, they leave very sweet notes telling me how they enjoyed spending time with my cats. I have found them to be responsive and responsible.

Pet and Plant Care is under new ownership and apparently this took effect about two years ago. Be careful what you say on Yelp regarding Pet and Plant Care. The owner CALLED ME AT MY HOME TODAY AND TRIED TO GET ME TO REMOVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW. The review was fact based and completely true. I told him I would put an addition on my review noting that there was new ownership.

The review specifically mentioned the old owner and how she had behaved when she was told that the walkers weren't actually walking the dogs. The new owner was the manager at the time. No doubt the old owner told "Chas", the new owner about this when he was manager, but he never did anything to rectify the problem. Yes, this was some time ago, but I still cannot recommend the service.

Someone from Pet and Plant must have contacted Yelp, because all of a sudden, my past review, that had been on line for months WAS REMOVED allegedly due to failure to abide by the "guidelines". Business owners should NEVER be allowed to have reviews removed without the reviewer being contacted and consulted first. How unprofessional of the new owner. Shame on you.

I recently moved to Chicago and worried about leaving for the holidays while my two aquatic turtles stayed behind. I was delighted to find several in-home pet care companies, but felt the most secure in picking Pet and Plant Care Service. At an initial meeting, a really nice man came by to listen to what I needed. I have him some pretty unsual feeding instructions considering that my pets are exotic, but this didn't change the fee and he even suggested that they'd stick around a few extra minutes to "give some affection" to my turtles.

While this may not have been perceived as such from my reptilian pals, I loved his attitude nonetheless. Once you sign up with the service, you can simply call them at the last minute before going out of town for and future pet care needs. He didn't mention a $15 holiday surcharge, but it's hardly worth complaining about considering I used to have to haul my turtles 15 miles to the nearest vivarium for boarding. I arrived home and the turtles looked happy. I'll definitely use Pet and Plant Care Service again!

I used this service once before and was satisfied- HOWEVER- on the last visit I arrived home to a dead houseplant, cat poop on the bedspread, on the livingroom floor, several next on the rug next to the litter box because the litter box was nearly full! The cat sitter also neglected to get the mail. Fortunately both cats were alive, I'm guessing because I left the bathroom sink on and an open bag of cat food. USE ANOTHER SERVICE IF YOU LOVE YOUR PET!

I've used Pet and Plant Care on several occasions and have always been pleased with their service. My cat tends to be quite shy around strangers but she seemed very happy (although I still got scolded for being away) when I returned. Their staff has always been polite and attentive, and their rates are very reasonable considering the peace of mind I felt in that my cat and my apartment were both being attended to while I was away.

DO NOT EMPLOY THIS COMPANY TO CARE FOR YOUR PETS & HOME! I have used this service on & off for several years just because it's a pain to switch over (my mistake). There has always been a problem with something when I come home from vacation, but my most recent trip was the last straw. I came home to find dead plants, excrement on the floor, and medication that was clearly not given.

The last day of service was not even fulfilled (because my cleaning lady was there) however no one ever called to make sure there was not mix-up. So, my cat didn't get any food or medication that whole day. Again. I might have been an idiot to overlook this, but when I called to speak with the manager, he was not only rude to me and made me feel as if it was all my fault. he did not offer a single apology.

I am so disgusted with this "service" and I only wish I had read all these other negative reviews before. I picked up my keys shortly after speaking with the manager on the phone and he offered a smug "good luck". THESE ARE NOT THE TYPE OF PEOPLE TO ENTRUST YOUR VALUABLE HOME & PETS TO.
