First, our pets can't speak, they cannot tell us if they feel off colour or unwell or have any other indicators of internal illness. We need to examine them every 6 months as well as run some routine screening tests to detect underlying disease BEFORE it is clinically apparent. Use the age chart below to find your pets age in "people" years and the screening testing recommended for each stage of his or her life. We believe the following tests give us the best chance of helping your pets live longer, healthier lives.
Regular wellness exams are one of the most important things you can do to keep your pet healthy. The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) recommends annual wellness exams at a minimum and as your pet ages, they suggest an increase in frequency of visits. We believe strongly in preventive care and have developed wellness protocols for every stage of your pet's life. One of the most important reasons to bring your pet in on a regular basis is to monitor and treat conditions before they become untreatable.

Best Vets - Dr. Johnson & Dr. Kirk and staff to care for our German Shepherd Dog. Use PerCentre Animal Hospital for vet care & boarding. Clearly the best place for our Mr. Bingley for long or short stays! Thanks for making sure he is well taken care of & giving us peace of mind for when we travel!

Pet Centre Animal Hospital has provided the best boarding experience I've ever had in my 20+ years of owning dogs. Their communication with owners is excellent and we love the photos they take of our dogs for the updates they send.

We've taken all our pets here for many years. The staff is friendly and we love Dr. Johnson and Dr. Kirk. We even drop off all 4 (!) of our cats here for lodging when we go out of town. It's expensive but worth it and they take great care of them. We love getting their report cards every couple of days with pics and updates on their health and status.

We love PetCentre! I've been taking my pup here for several years now for their doggy daycare program (not really a pup anymore, but still). The staff is always so friendly and welcoming. Their facility is large and clean, with an actual outdoor play area that you just won't find in most dog daycare centers. They also send photos and do a write-up of your dog's day. We couldn't imagine taking him anywhere else.

Very nice report cards on my pets. My cats seemed to enjoy it. Stayed a second time this month - staff is friendly and helpful and kitties were well cared for - report cards made it almost seem like they'd rather have stayed;

PetCentre has a great day camp for dogs. Dogs can romp and play outside under the supervision of a caring staff that loves dogs. Our dog, Mardi, has a great time there. Thank you PlayCare staff! For medical needs, Dr. Johnson is intelligent, confident, and clearly very competent. We have complete trust in him.

Great experience! The staff wear masks and are friendly and helpful. The vet was great and spent a good amount of time discussing issues and options. I definitely recommend!

To start, I have never actually taken my dog to this animal hospital. I just wanted to thank Beth Ann for being so nice and helpful when I called with a medical emergency for my dog the other day. I was desperately searching for a place that did MRIs (at the urging of another vet) and spoke to a million different clinics that day. They were unable to do an MRI, but she called me back with some recommendations of other places that could.

To me, that is exactly the kind of care and compassion people need in an animal hospital. (Luckily, I was able to take him into an emergency vet where he stayed for 3 days while they figured out he has Addison's Disease and did not need an MRI afterall. Now he's home, on the mend, and almost back to himself.) Again, thank you so much! Give her a raise!

My pup has been coming here for the past 2 years. We absolutely love Dr. Johnson! He takes his time and truly cares about your dog. We adopted our dog from the shelter and during our first visit Dr. Johnson took extra time with us and was able to answer every question we had! We also had TPLO surgery (pic below 1 day post op). They bring a surgeon in to perform the surgery on site, which was great!

We had nurses our dog was familiar with caring for him. Right after surgery we had a 10 day vacation planned to Utah (surgery was unexpected due to a tear). He boarded with them and they took exceptional care of him. During his stay they sent report cards, administered his medications, helped with physical therapy and gave him a lot of belly rubs :)

We love this veterinary clinic. We have been bringing our dogs here for years. The staff are knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. I won't go anywhere else. They always go above and beyond for us and our dogs and that is what is most important. We never feel rushed when we come for an appointment either.

My family has been taking our pets there since I was probably 5 years old and now I am in college. I do not trust anyone but Dr. Johnson with my animals. They are all so great and friendly. Now that I am taking my animals here on my own and not with my parents I realize how absolutely awesome these guys are. Not to mention that when I tell them I am a poor college student they understand and work with me on being able to provide my cat with great care (but still within my budget). This is a great vet!

We brought one of our cats to see Dr Johnson and we were very satisfied with his diagnosis and treatment. He seems very nice and caring. We will continue to see him for all 3 of our cats check ups. Thank you.

Terrible. Absolutely terrible. I found a kitten this morning and brought her in because she wasn't walking with her back legs and was obviously in pain. They gave her an x-ray and wouldn't tell us what exactly was wrong with her because in order to do further testing we would have to pay them. They took the kitten while we were filling out paperwork so we didn't know what exactly they did just that she doesn't have a fever and they did the x-ray.

As soon as the nurse came in she immediately hinted at "how much are you willing to spend?" just to find out what was wrong! No diagnosis, just if we decided to keep the kitten we should come back immediately to get her dewormed (which we will never come back again.) We were basically told that if she doesn't use her back legs soon she's probably paralyzed and the admin hinted that if she is paralyzed we should put her down and to "not get attached." Never saw the doctor or spoke with him, just he said she said. An absolutely awful experience filled with very apathetic people. UPDATE: She died today.

Two days after we brought her to you and you did nothing. You should be ASHAMED, never in my life have I been so disappointed. We were watching her, taking care of her every moment we had left with her. You did absolutely nothing to help her or us. You all are truly terrible.

Very disappointed in this place, the main vet, Dr Johnson seemed great and very knowledgeable and the people working in the front seemed nice but the office manager might be the most awful person I've ever met. They keep on trying to push this blood test that seems worthless, and if you don't get it and anything is wrong which is not even related to the blood test, they blame it on that.

My dog is now doing not good after the operation and they want to charge me $85 per day, when no one is even there from 7pm to 7am, not to mention a base of $260 after I paid almost $400 for the surgery. The office manager just says "I've known the doctor for 12 years, we rarely have complications" if you don't like it, go see someone else.um are you kidding me? I would try to go and see someone else.

I take my fur baby to PetCentre and he and I both love them! He has been going to play care there for a while now and loves it! I get a report card and pics so I can see he is having a great time. The staff are very friendly and knowledgable! Max had to see the Dr when he wasn't feeling well and the Dr. was great! I did not feel that I was overcharged for the visit, tests and meds like some of the other posters have stated. The best part of PetCentre - they love my baby as much as I do! :

The staff and doctors at PetCentre are wonderful and extremely knowledgable. I've used Dr. Johnson off and on for years (when I've lived in the area) and he is one of the sharpest vets I've ever worked with. For instance, he diagnosed my cat who had blood in his urine and was borderline diabetic, with a UTI on visual inspection and symptoms.

When the culture came back, he had TWO separate types of bacteria and the antibiotic Dr. Johnson gave us to take home proved to be the right one to kill both. His medical expertise is undoubted. Their price quotes for work also don't deviate much from the final bill. Top-notch animal care at reasonable prices!

We will never be able to say enough great things about Pet Centre! We have been using their services for 12 years, now. The doctors and staff are highly knowledgeable and truly care about your animals. Their bedside manner & customer service just blows us away. The doctors actually listen to you and respect you as an animal parent. The office is so nice and well organized.

We always arrive and leave fully satisfied, knowing that our pup has been in amazing hands. A great addition to Pet Centre is their new Playcare facility! A large indoor & outdoor area, attached to the office, where our pup plays for hours on end with other great pups. Pet Centre is truly our home away from home. We will forever be grateful for the love & care they have showed us all of these years. We have highly recommended Pet Centre to our friends and family, and will continue to do so. Thank you Pet Centre!

A friend told me about this place so I thought I'd give it a try. But twice I've tried to go, and the blonde girl is outside smoking. I'm allergic to smoke. So I thought I'd come back later to try it out. Never even made it into the door. Why are they allowed to smoke on the property? I certainly don't want my dog around a bunch of cigarette smoke. Really classy move, guys.

I recently had a bad experience with my previous vet clinic and decided to give PetCentre a try. The practice has great parking and the staff at the front desk was very warm and helpful. My dog is usually very nervous around strangers but the staff did a great job of putting us both at ease. We saw a young female veterinarian who took her time to explain everything to me. This was by far the best experience I have had at any veterinary clinic. I highly recommend them.

We've had three of my dogs come here. We used to live in the neighborhood but recently have moved to Bristow. We STILL bring them to Pet Centre. Dr. Johnson, who has been the primary veterinarian for all three, has made every visit worth every trip. Particularly, his ability not only to provide good care for my dogs, but also to explain it all to me so that I always leave knowing exactly how I need to take care of them at home and that I understand absolutely everything prior to walking out the door. Additionally, for our trips away from home, I let them stay at Pet Centre.

I could tell from my initial walk-through that they were more than willing to let me bring in personal belongings for each visit that my dogs were there for. Not only that, but the yard in the back of the hospital is HUGE! Not a whole lot of places in the region can say they've got that.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. This has got to be the worst experience I've had at an animal hospital. My first visit, they quoted me for approximately $75-100 for my bill, prior to me bringing in my dog. When I arrived the front staff was really friendly and genuine. But the blonde short haired doctor was a nightmare. She asked me what I used to shampoo my dog, and I told her pethead (division of bedhead that's specifically for animals) to which she glanced at her tech with rolled eyes.

I guess she never knew they had a pet line? Secondly she kept automatically adding these tests on my dog that I never made the appointment for and when I went to check out, the bill was approx $300. She had such a pretentious and condescending attitude about her, but I figured maybe she was just having a bad day? My second visit was decent, there was a brunette doctor that helped me with my dog's stomach pains, she was very sweet and overall really nice, explained everything thoroughly and clearly.

My most recent and LAST visit, was unfortunately booked with the original blonde Dr. My dog needed to get rabies shot. But AGAIN for some reason this doctor pressured me into doing more things, and this time she wanted to shave his butt. When they took him back, I heard a huge yelp from my dog. Everything was normal, but learning from previous experience I denied additional unecessary (and costly) services.

When I took my dog home, it was then that I noticed, that he was in a lot of pain. When I took a closer look, they not only shaved the hairs on his butt, but they shaved his SKIN. He now has a big red rash and I am beyond angry that they can't even seem to complete the simplest tasks without messing up. In conclusion, I've given this place three visits, and two of the visits have been absolutely despicable. If you love your pet, STEER CLEAR FROM THIS PLACE.

They overcharge. I took our dog here b/c our normal vet was not open on the weekends and he had an ear infection that needed some treatment asap. $200 later (seriously!) I walked out with the meds that we needed and tons of recommendations that didn't really take the health of my pet into account, but would result in the fattening of the vets wallet. We have used them to board our pet and that has been rather successful in the past, I just don't trust them to not over charge and gouge my wallet.

This is a large animal hospital that also does boarding of pets as well. They seem to have a fenced in area that they will let your pet play in as well when they are boarding. I believe they walk your dog as well for you. I used to take 2 of my dogs here. The staff is extremely friendly. The reason I stopped going here is because it is a bit farther from my house compared to other animal hospitals (Battlefield Animal Hospital in Manassas is the one I most like).

Also the location makes it a bit confusing to find. It is near Centreville Road/Route28. since there is no traffic light there. it's a bit tricky during rush hours. You have to wait for someone to let you onto the road.
