Our puppies are sold with a current health certificate signed by a licensed veterinarian (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine). All of our puppies for sale are on a regular preventative schedule from the breeder and then to us. Petland Pet Counselors work with staff at local animal shelters, pet rescue groups and with members of the local community to place homeless pets - puppies, dogs, kittens, cats and a variety of small animals.

As part of this cooperative program, Petland store operators make available their highly visible Petland display windows to aid in the placement of homeless pets in local communities.

I really don't like how the puppies come from puppy mills, and bad breeders. However the staff are friendly and helpful, and they carry good products.

Bought a Pomeranian puppy 16 weeks old from their other store in rogers.ar same owners 10/2021. Hes a beautiful bicolored Pomeranian. He is healthy, very loving and not a barker. He came well trained and well worth what I spent. He is registered to a kennel that has won awards not a puppy mill. I love him bunches and got him neutered other than that he was microchipped and didn't need any other vet visits cause he was up to date on all his shots.

Yes they are expensive but for the price you get to choose from a bunch of different breeds yo see which one is right for your family. Where else can you go and interact with lots of different breeds and puppies at the same time to pick the best one for your lifestyle. I definitely don't regret getting my forever fur baby.

This is a good place for small pets as you can interact with them before purchasing. They also have separate little cubbies that are sanitized after each use for visiting puppies. I wish their supplies area was bigger tho. The area for small animal homes is really small, so be prepared to make another stop (PetSmart is close) if you're setting up a new pet and need everything. There's usually a worker with some knowledge you can draw on for helping you cover the basic items a new pet will need.

It is no wonder this Petland is not BBB accredited. Do NOT go here no matter the case. I had a horrible experience and have sworn off this place. If you can help it, spend your hard earned money with people who actually care, not with people who pretend to.

Ok here goes. I went in to look at puppies and found one I loved but felt as if I was being pressured into buying the pup. I had talked to many of the employees there who were all very nice and answered my questions for the most part but when I asked a total price I had to ask 4 different times before getting my answer. Yes they wanted to work with me so i could take the puppy home but I wanted to talk it over with my boyfriend before making that big of a financial decision and that was questioned by the staff.

I even got told I should buy the pup so someone could get more on their check for a trip they have coming up. One person asked why I was so scared of my boyfriend (which I'm not) but when you are making a big purchase it's only right to talk it over and make sure it's something you can afford. Yes the puppies come with benefits and are so adorable but I don't think I will be returning to their store just because of how much pressure they put on customers to buy their puppies. I believe the puppies are overpriced even with all the things they offer to go along with them.

Worse than a car dealership! Told us one price, then when we went to purchase the puppy, it was three times the amount they told us. How do they get away with scamming people out of so much money? These are living, breathing animals, not cars. Shame on you!

We are considering a puppy and reached out to Petland Joplin. This location had both breeds available and the color selection we are interested in. Called the store today and verified those puppies were available and sat the appointment with Miranda for 6 pm. to play with a few puppies. We arrived at 6 p.m. the puppies were available and we played with them. Miranda and all of the sales people were extremely helpful.

The puppies were clean, healthy and happy. Yes, the puppies seem a little pricey but the warranty, and other package deal that comes with the puppies are actually a great value. We didn't take a puppy home this evening. But are hopeful to make a decision and return soon. We recommend Petland to anyone looking for a new pet.

Petland in Joplin, Mo was absolutely wonderful. Brett helped me by finding me a female Maltese puppy within just hours and I brought her home just 2 days later and the workers at Petland were all so kind and wonderful. We felt very comfortable with all of them and my Maltese is absolutely beautiful and a joy to have.

This place is operating on a 1970's business model. Went in to look at a new harness. Found one I thought my partner might like so I bought it. Specifically asked the child working the register if I could return it if she doesn't like it. SURE! I was told. Take the harness back today and was told NO CASH REFUNDS! wtf. Yesterday I was told I could return it. I'll never shop there again, at least after I am forced to spend 33 dollars there!

Was looking for pet stairs because the beds in our motel room are ridiculously too high. My 15 yr old Beagle mix could not even jump halfway up. My 6 yr old Beagle got up every 3rd try. They were the ONLY pet store in town with sturdy (not cheap plastic) stairs in stock. They were outrageously expensive, but I NEEDED them. They are extremely sturdy, floor grade plywood with good carpet stapled onto them. My girls use them, so the $325.00 including tax that I had to spend, to me, was worth it.

Bought a registered pug puppy from the owners of this store and come to find out it was not fully registered only partial meaning if I had puppies they could not be registered. If I paid thousands of dollars for a puppy I would expect it to be fully registered. I spoke to the store and they were always going to correct it and after almost a year they came back and said they weren't going to chance the registration. Beware of what you buy from this store and the one in Rogers, Ar. they are not honest.

I recently rescued a pair of a pair of ferrets and went to Petland to purchase a small animal water bottle for them. When I had come home I noticed the ferrets were having a hard time getting water out, I tried getting the water out myself and even I couldn't get the water to drip. After I realized this, I took it back to Petland and told cashier at the time that It wasn't working right after we bought it and ask for a refund.

Even though I had the receipt and the item, they refused to take it back. I proceeded to tell him that the item had no use for my animals, and I wanted a refund, but he still refused. They sold us a faulty product and refused to take responsibility and refund it. Please don't support Petland or buy their products.

First of all, if I could give this place zero stars, I would. They not only get their pets from absolutely horrible places like puppy mills, rodent mills, ferret mills, and pretty much every other kind of animal mill out there, but they treat their pets horribly. I've seen a lady cleaning the puppy cages and spraying the glass with cleaner, and while she was wiping it off, her arm proceeded to hit one of the dogs in the cage. Granted, it seemed to be an accident, but she looked very unapologetic and unsurprised in general.

This wouldn't have been too bad, but then she continued to leave the top cage door open, with dogs inside, and physically stepped away from the cage leaving the puppies at risk of falling out from that dangerous height. They also keep their bettas in horrible, small bowls or cups, some dead or dying, and sell their ferrets way too young when they should still be with their mothers.

And on top of all this, they have some pretty rude employees who won't refund brand new items without a fight from the customer who just wants their money back. And finally, they give horrible advice to people buying pets. Please don't support them or the animal mills that supply them, and don't take their advice when it comes to getting a new pet. Do your own research and rescue pets that actually need homes.

I would have not given any stars but then it wouldn't let me type anything! We bought a puppy from Petland in Joplin on September 8, 2018. They encouraged us to purchase the pet insurance because they said you never know when you will need it. Well, a month later, the collar that we had purchased from the store broke and he got to the road and was hit.

He didn't make it. We called to see what we needed to do. We had to take him in so he could have an autopsy. The insurance we purchased, we were told, would replace the puppy that we had lost. Over the past 13 months, the store has NEVER reached out to us. We have been the ones that make every single phone call. We get nowhere! We must have really good timing because every time we call, the owners are not available!

They apparently go on many trips! At first they would call us back and tell us that they were reaching out to their suppliers but now have gotten to where they don't even return our calls. We have been nice, we have not been so nice. nothing helps! We have even tried going over their heads since Petland is such a huge company. Little did we know that each franchise stands alone and has nothing to do with each other! I would never recommend purchasing a pet from this store!

Petland is nothing more than a legal expensive puppy mill. My wife received a Dachshund puppy as a gift. Puppy was very ill with pneumonia, and was under weight. Ribs and back bones showing. Took puppy to their contracted vet next door. Didn't like their practices and or attitudes. Ended up taking puppy to emergency hospital, otherwise may not have survived. Petland did reimburse for 1/2 the hospital cost.

Found another great vet, that has helped nurse our little one back to health. When asked for reimbursement was turned down flat. Took 3 months, and $1,000's out of pocket, to cure pneumonia, and put on 8 lbs. Puppy also was younger than they stated to us. Sophia is now a healthy and happy family member and has our 3 other dogs as friends and playmates. Looked at it as an expensive rescue, as she surely would not have survived at Petland. Petland needs investigated and shut down. Lesson learned.

This store was awful to us, customer service was completely and utterly disappointing. When we went to look for our fur baby we were constantly watched and harassed by the sales rep there. Her name was Heidi I believe. We were never once left alone to discuss our options with purchasing this puppy. We also went looking for accessories for the puppy after purchasing him and Heidi continuously placed items in the shopping cart and I presumed to ask her if these items would be free and she would say "yes you will not be paying for any of these items" we kept walking through the store and she kept placing items in the cart and I continuously asked if these would be free and she continued to reassure me the items would not cost anything even in my disbelief I feel for her false truths.

After we purchased the puppy and she rang up all of the items in the cart we still were skeptical about the situation at hand. We were not shown a receipt of all the items charged and we just believed they weren't. As we traveled back home we noticed we were charged $476. My girlfriend was completely unaware of these charges and was not made aware.

She called Heidi and she exclaimed that we could not return any of the items because we "signed" a contract. I called her and told her we were going to report them and as I was doing so she called back and apologized and said we could return all of the items. When we went back we were treated with such disrespect and such horrible customer service. We will not be returning.

Puppies here are way overpriced. They wanted to charge me $3300 for a Maltipoo. You can do a payment plan, but I've never heard of someone having to make monthly payments for 3 years on a dog, and he wasn't even able to be AKC registered because he was a mixed breed. I signed the papers and paid a deposit that night and wanted to pick up the puppy that next morning as I was staying in a hotel.

I started thinking about it and realized I made a mistake. I went back the next morning and they tried to talk me into taking the dog. They even put me on the phone with the owner. I was told that I owed a 25% fee because I 'returned' the dog. I NEVER even took possession of the dog. I was told that they did me a favor by holding him 12 hours, all of which they were closed.

She told me she would cancel the lease to do me a favor even though that was in the contract. Don't buy your dogs here, they jack up the price and try to justify it. It's not worth it. And don't sign any papers unless you're willing to make payments on the dog.

Recently, I came into Petland to buy items for a cat that I had just gotten and the guy who helped me was very nice and did help me find all the items I needed. Unfortunately, my cat died the very next day and I went back to return the items. When I got there I informed the staff at the register (the very same one who had helped me the day before) that I didn't have the receipt, but that I had my card I used and all the items.

He informed me that he couldn't do anything for me even though I was crying in the middle of the store explaining that my kitten had just died and I had no need for the items. AND after I had searched my purse and my car for the receipt. Called the next day, the manager said she would give me a call right back. I called her an hour later and she said there was nothing they could do not even scan my items or look up my credit card number.

After three phone calls and two trips back to the store I finally (with attitude from staff) got my money back. The only time a customer is valued at Petland is when you are spending money.

Once I finally got to talk to the store manager/owner, they were very good to help resolve the issue and change the interest rate to what had been promised. I would have upped it to 4 stars, but the owner, who said he would clear his schedule to meet me at 1 o'clock, was not there at 1 when I showed up. He came nearly 10 minutes late and I was almost late for work. If they could get a few kinks worked out, they would be a very good, albeit expensive, pet store.

I love taking my daughter here to see all the puppies, rabbits, and fish! It use to be a mess around the store, however, I have seen a lot of changes lately and it seems a lot more organized! In regards to the prices, I feel they are overpriced on the puppies! You can do a payment plan, but you are definitely spending too much. They do however take care of a lot of the medical needs of the puppies so that is a plus. As always, I would recommend looking online or at your local shelters for dogs that need a good home!

Great store! Lost of healthy Puppies, small animals, birds, reptiles, fish, and a great selection of pet supplies. They are a locally owned family business that will meet your every need. They've recently gone through a change in ownership and the owners are very engaged. Just ask to speak to the then if you have any issues! Thanks Petland!

First of all, you should ALWAYS buy your puppy from a reputable breeder and not a pet store. These people generally don't take their animals welfare into consideration, it's only about money. A breeder will offer a two year guarantee on their puppy and you see the mom/dad on site so there's no question about breed. Recent puppy purchase has turned disastrous. The owner won't follow through on anything she stated when He was purchased and the monetary loss of nearly $2,000.00 is devastating. Please do your research!

I would like to be positive but it's hard to when you deal with dishonest people. We purchased a puppy 13 months ago. We were told he wouldn't get no more than 4 lbs. He weighs 11 lbs.( considering we drove 2 hours and paid 1750$ for him.) So we got over that. Also purchased puppy for life extended care. Which is almost useless it does cover shots.but living 2 hours away and Making a appointment for simple care.we arrived and were told it would be later in the afternoon before he would be ready.

We asked exactly how long it would take when we made the appointment.we were told 2 hrs for the care we were asking to get done. We get there the grooer told us there were 2 ahead and it would be later. She claimed she was unaware of our appointment. So we walk back next door to the desk and the lady has the odaisity to talk trash and we could hear her through the door.

I will not be driving back for anything from there. I hope the owner reads this and replies. I would be willing to chat with that person. And would expect a letter of appogoly from petland as well as paws. You don't treat people like this. Between myself and daughter we have spent over 6k. Not including supplies.

WE WON our small claims against HUNTE VENTURES for selling us a mixed breed, AKC registered dog as a purebred. BUYERS BEWARE - think twice about making a purchase as it is a pig in a poke with shady business practices at best.

The store is decent but this company has gotten in trouble before for getting puppies from puppy mill situations. 500 for a dog is ridiculous when there is one who needs a home at a shelter that you could adopt for no more than 100. The cages for the puppies were fairly small and most of the dogs didn't look all that happy. I'll stick with adoption events at stores like petsmart or going to a shelter to adopt.

Where do I begin? I was here a year ago and bought a dog only to find out that the dog was malnourished, had worms and didnt have all its shots. When I approached them abt this issue they said that there was no refunds. They didn't offer any warranty or anything on this pet. They lied saying the dog was up to date on shots. I will never buy another animal from this place.

I went there on the 6th of june and some of their dogs had ribs showing. The only thing that is good to purchase there is the supplies for your animal. They are a bit high priced!

Petland is always fun. They are more than happy to let you play with the puppies in areas that are made just for that and are clean, even after you tell them your not buying a dog. Our girls love to go there and play with the puppies. Of course what children wouldn't. Staff is very friendly and it's kept nice and clean. They have a good variety of pet foods and toys but are a little pricier than their local competitors. Price is the only reason they get 4 instead of 5 stars.
